The WoW’s tenth expansion brings a lot of exciting content, including a variety of new mounts in The War Within. Some of them may be challenging to obtain due to the extensive grinding required, while others are easier to acquire since they are part of your regular activities. However, the time and effort invested in obtaining these new mounts in War Within are truly worth it, and every player, regardless of their in-game experience, can find something for themselves. With that in mind, let’s take a closer look at our The War Within mount list!
How to get all The War Within mount
How to get Coldflame Tempest mount
To obtain Coldflame Tempest mount, you have to take part in 20th Anniversary celebration and complete A Cool Twenty Years meta–achievement. It consists of 8 sub-achievements: Pet Mischief, Balloonist, Codex Editor: Ahn’Qiraj, A Gatecrasher, Fashion Critic, An Original, Peanut Gallery, and I Have That One!. For details on getting these achievements, check out our dedicated article:
How to get Delver’s Dirigible mount
If you’re wondering how to get the TWW Delve mount, visit the Delver’s Headquarters in Dornogal upon reaching level 80. There, Brann Bronzebeard will give you a quest introducing you to the Bountiful Delves concept.
Bountiful Delves are a daily-changing special version of Delves that offer extra rewards without increasing difficulty. These rewards are accessed through chests that require Restored Coffer Keys, which can be obtained by completing world content in The War Within.
The Bountiful Delves quest provides you with your first Restored Coffer Key and requires you to clear a Bountiful Delve at any difficulty level. Upon completion, Brann gives you the Ship It! War Within Delve mount quest, which rewards you with the Delver’s Dirigible.
After obtaining your WoW Delve mount, you can customize it at a Rostrum of Transformation, with most cosmetics available from Delve vendors in Dornogal. Additionally, a unique void Delve mount cosmetic, the Delver’s Dirigible Schematic: Void, can be earned by defeating the Zekvir boss in The War Within Season 1.
How to get Shale Ramolith mount
To obtain the Shale Ramolith, one of The WoW War Within new mounts, reach Renown 18 with the Council of Dornogal faction. Once you’ve achieved this, you can purchase the Shale Ramolith from the Dornogal mount vendor, Auditor Balwurz, at [39.1, 24.2] for 8,125 Resonance Crystals.
To increase your Renown with the Council of Dornogal, you’ll start by completing one-time activities like the main campaign, side quests, and collecting treasures. After these, your progress will primarily come from weekly activities, such as participating in the Theater Troupe event, hunting rares, and completing a weekly dungeon quest. These activities will help you reach your weekly reputation cap, after which you’ll have to wait until the next reset to earn more reputation.
How to get Slatestone Ramolith mount
The Slatestone Ramolith mount can be unlocked by accessing the new allied race, the Earthen, and completing the Allied Races: Earthen achievement. Once unlocked, it will become available for all your characters. For details on getting this race, check out our dedicated article:
How to get Machine Defense Unit 1-11 mount
The Machine Defense Unit 1-11 mount is closely tied to the Awakening the Machine event, a weekly activity in the Ringing Deeps. To find out how to get this TWW mount and learn more about the event, here’s a helpful guide based on the latest information:
How to get Wick mount
The Wick mount is a drop from The Darkness, a boss in the Darkflame Cleft dungeon, but only on Mythic difficulty or higher. Since this dungeon isn’t included in the Season 1 Mythic+ rotation, you can only try to get Wick once daily by running the Darkflame Cleft on Mythic difficulty.
How to get Crimson Mudnose mount
The Crimson Mudnose mount can be bought from Waxmonger Squick at [47.4, 32.8] for 8,125 Resonance Crystals once you reach Renown 19 with the Assembly of the Deeps faction.
How to get Cyan Glowmite mount
The Cyan Glowmite mount can be purchased from Waxmonger Squick at [47.4, 32.8] for 11,375 Resonance Crystals once you reach Renown 23 with the Assembly of the Deeps faction.
How to get Ol’ Mole Rufus mount
The Ol’ Mole Rufus is one of the WoW mole mounts that can be obtained by defeating the Lurker of the Deeps, which you can challenge once per day per character. To summon this rare elite, you must activate 5 hidden Inconspicuous Levers around the Ringing Deeps. Since the levers are spread out, you’ll need a group of five players to coordinate and press them simultaneously. Here are the coordinates to assist you on your WoW Lurker mount journey:
- Lever 1: [49.4, 8.8]
- Lever 2: [53.9, 25.2]
- Lever 3: [57.6, 23.5]
- Lever 4: [62.8, 44.6]
- Lever 5: [59.0, 92.3]
When all five Levers are pressed within a 5–10 second window, you’ll see a zone-wide message: “As the earthen machinery turns, something begins to stir in the nearby lake.” If you miss the timing, the Levers reset in 30 seconds, allowing you to try again.
Once the Levers are activated, the Lurker of the Deeps will appear near the lake west of Opportunity Point in the southern Ringing Deeps at [60.8, 76.6]. It spawns about a minute later, giving you enough time to reach it.
How to get Dauntless Imperial Lynx mount
The Dauntless Imperial Lynx is a Hallowfall rare mount that drops from the weekly Spreading the Light event in the Light’s Blooming area. You can unlock it once you reach Renown 3 with the Hallowfall Arathi faction.
First, start defeating enemies in the area to collect Radiant Remnants, then use them to light either Lesser Keyflames (costing 3x Radiant Remnants) or Major Keyflames (costing 20x Radiant Remnants). Once you light all four Keyflames, the objective is complete, and you’ll receive a Radiant Cache containing loot with a chance to obtain this WoW lynx mount.
You can also earn a Lamplighter Supply Satchel by completing bonus objectives, which might drop this majestic WoW War Within mount:
- Bog Beast Banishment: It involves filling a progress bar by defeating Stillstone enemies.
- A Better Cabbage Smacker: It requires collecting 8x Gyro-Optic Springs, 5x Cleanbrass Bolts, and returning Control-Gear to Ezgi.
- Cutting Edge: It tasks you with defeating 60 fungal enemies, with an optional goal to collect a Hallowfall Scythe. You can complete one bonus objective per run, giving you two chances to obtain the WoW TWW lynx mount per character.
This Hallowfall lynx mount activity can be completed once per week per character, and level 70 characters can also participate; they might find it easier to kill the mobs and will receive a level 80 gear piece from the Radiant Cache. Even if you don’t plan to level up your character immediately, it’s worth doing this activity to spare gear for later.
How to get Beledar’s Spawn mount
Beledar’s Spawn is a WoW Hallowfall mount you can get from a rare elite named Beledar’s Spawn. This elite appears at the start of the event “Beledar’s Shadow,” which lasts 30 minutes and happens every 3 hours. When the crystal goes dark, Beledar’s Spawn may show up in various locations around Hallowfall. Here’s a War Within mount macro you can paste into the chat to display the possible Spawn locations:
/run local a,b,c=258575,1000,{0,68821,45323,4740,6788,43066,25944,17293,18770,16166,9222,33660,32121,5799,18898,8889,14311,52915,40356,6758}for d=1,#c do a=a+c[d]TomTom:AddWaypoint(2215,floor(a/b)/b,a%b/b,{title="Beledar Spawn",from="Wowhead Script"})end
Additionally, here’s another macro that allows you to find out how much time is left until the next Beledar’s Spawn appearance:
/run local a=(GetQuestResetTime()+3660)%10800 print(format("\124cffa060ffBeledar's Shadow in\124r \124cffffffff%s%s%ds (%s Local Time)\124r",a>3600 and floor(a/3600).."h "or"",a>60 and floor(a/60%60).."m "or"",a%60,date("%H:%M",a+time())))
Plus, here’s a new macro that checks if you have defeated Beledar’s Spawn on your current character in this reset:
/run local d=(C_QuestLog.IsQuestFlaggedCompleted(81763)) print("\124cffa060ffBeledar's Shadow kill", d and "\124cFF00FF00" or "\124cFFFF0000NOT","DONE")
Aside from that, reaching Renown 23 with the Hallowfall Arathi faction allows you to purchase Beledar’s Attunement from Auralia Steelstrike in Mereldar for 1,000 Resonance Crystals. This item, once used, makes Beledar’s Spawn location permanently visible on the Hallowfall zone map for your Warband. However, since this item comes later in the Renown track, you’ll probably get this Hallowfall void mount before unlocking it. But if you’re unlucky, the item will make your TWW void mount hunt much easier.
How to get Vermillion Imperial Lynx mount
The Vermillion Imperial Lynx, another War Within lynx mount, can be purchased from Auralia Steelstrike for 8,125 Resonance Crystals after reaching Renown 21 with the Hallowfall Arathi faction.
How to get Shackled Shadow mount
The Shackled Shadow mount can be bought from Auralia Steelstrike for 11,375 Resonance Crystals once you reach Renown 23 with the Hallowfall Arathi faction.
How to get Kah Legend of the Deep mount
You can get the Kah Legend of the Deep, one of the Hallowfall mounts, by completing the Derby Dash achievement, which is part of the Hallowfall Fishing Derby. This event happens every Saturday in Hallowfall and lasts all day, so you can join whenever it’s convenient for you. Plus, only one character per Warband can complete it.
Here’s how it works to get this The War Within Fishing mount: Go to Hallowfall at [44.2, 61.6] and find Captain Oathmyt. Pick up the Hallowfall Fishing Derby mount quest to get the Derby Dasher buff, which lasts 1 hour. Next, catch the required Trophy Fish and those in the table below around Khaz Algar, and turn in the Hallowfall Fishing Derby quest before the Mereldar Fishing Derby expires. To save you time, start early and consider using War Mode to reduce competition:
Fish | Fishing Pools | Area |

Try this Derby Dash achievement if your fishing skill is close to 300 and you have buffs to boost your skill and perception. The Awoken Coelacanth is best tackled with a skill level between 315 and 375. You’ll also need 10 Stargazers for every 5 minutes of attempts.
The Bismuth Bitterling and Dilly-Dally Dace can enhance your skills, while the Ghoulfish Delight boosts skill and perception. The Phial of Truesight increases perception, and the Algari Weaverline can enhance either skill or perception. You can enchant your tool with the Enchant Tool – Algari Perception. For bait, use the Whispering Squirmworm, available at [51.7, 24.6], for 133x Kej. As for profession tools, consider the Aqirite Fisherfriend and the Artisan Fishing Cap. To facilitate the process, use the Soaked Journal Entry for 5x Mereldar Derby Marks.
Note that the event doesn’t appear in your fishing journal until you reach level 175 in Khaz Algar Fishing, though you can still participate even at level 1 Khaz Algar Fishing. This could be another oversight, so keep it in mind. Overall, participate in the event and fish up the required fish, and you should be able to obtain this WoW TWW Fishing mount.
How to get Ferocious Jawcrawler mount
The Ferocious Jawcrawler mount can be bought from Lady Vinazian in Azj-Kahet at [57.6, 46.8] for 2,815 Kej currency, which you can earn through Bounty Rumors, side quests, treasures and rare enemies farm, world quests, weekly quests, and Pinnacle Caches. The War Within Season 1 Mythic+ mounts
This section focuses on all War Within mounts available during Season 1 of the new expansion.
How to get Stonevault Mechsuit mount
To earn the Stonevault Mechsuit mount, you must complete a five-quest chain that starts with the Malfunctioning Mechsuit item. This item drops from High Speaker Eirich in the Stonevault dungeon on Mythic or Mythic+ difficulty. Although the drop chance is low, you can farm it on lower Mythic+ keys.
Here are some insights that will save your nerve cells while working towards acquiring The War Within Mythic Plus mount:
- The questline is shared across your Warband, so if your main can’t loot the required trinkets mentioned below, you can use alts to collect and deliver them to your main. Or they’ll be auto-delivered to your Warbank.
- The trinkets will only drop if you pick the right loot specialization. For example, the Burin of the Candle King trinket is for healers, so switch to the healing spec to get it. It’s also a good idea to check out the in-game Adventure Guide’s loot table for each boss to find out which spec the items drop for.
- If possible, start the questline with a Druid or Paladin. Players have found that playing as DPS with loot set to Healer can still get you the healer trinket. Similarly, you can get the tank trinket by setting loot to Tank while playing as DPS.
- No specific profession, level, or item quality is needed to get the mount.
- To speed things up, use the Follower dungeon feature. Keep running dungeons until the items you need drop — just exit and queue up again immediately after each run.
Here’s what you need to do to obtain this mount:
- Once the “A Mech in Need” quest is in your quest log, take the Malfunctioning Mechsuit to Speaker Jurlax in the Ringing Deeps at [47.0, 32.4].
- Accept the quest “Machine Without Cogs.” To complete it, obtain the Overclocked Gear-a-Rang Launcher trinket from Speaker Dorlita, the second boss in the Stonevault dungeon.
Important tip: Switch to a melee DPS spec to get the item before starting Follower dungeons. - Once you have it, bring it to Speaker Jurlax and pick up the “Orienting Ourselves” quest.
- Head to the Cinderbrew Meadery dungeon and defeat Goldie Baronbottom for the Synergistic Brewterializer trinket.
Another crucial tip: This trinket is for Intellect-based classes only, so don’t try to get it if you’re playing a Warrior or other non-Intellect class. - Return to Speaker Jurlax and accept the “Clutching Control” quest, which sends you to the Darkflame Cleft dungeon. Defeat the Candle King for the Burin of the Candle King trinket.
Yes, a life-changing tip again: Choose Follower dungeons, and remember to switch to the healer spec or turn on the healer loot option. - Return to Speaker Jurlax for the Repurposed, Restored quest and claim your Stonevault Mechsuit once you’ve completed all the tasks.
How to get Marrowfang’s Reins mount
The Marrowfang’s Reins WoW TWW mount has a very low drop rate, around 3%, from Nalthor the Rimebinder, the last boss in the Necrotic Wake dungeon on Mythic+ difficulty. You can try for it once a week per character, so using more characters gives you a better chance to get the mount!
Other The War Within mounts
In addition, we have separate guides on obtaining other The War Within new mounts:
