Table of Contents

Tailoring in WoW Forever receives one of the largest profession expansions, with 180 new recipes currently present in Beta build 1.60.1.70338. Tailors gain new spell-focused armor, seven Reagent Bags, additional high-level equipment, campsite crafting stations, and dozens of Merchant’s Favor patterns. Zockify.com

Tailoring still creates Cloth armor, regular bags, shirts, cloaks, and other textile items. Unlike Blacksmithing or Leatherworking, however, it does not need a dedicated gathering profession because most cloth drops naturally from humanoid enemies.

This WoW Forever Tailoring guide covers the profession’s biggest changes, new recipes, caster equipment, Reagent Bags, Camping features, Merchant’s Favor progression, Legacy rewards, trainers, and basic 1–300 leveling.

Most professions usually require a significant amount of gold to purchase reagents, recipes, and other essentials. To save time and avoid the tedious grind, you can buy WoW Forever gold and focus on leveling your profession instead.

The latest recipe database contains 414 Tailoring recipes, including 180 marked as completely new to Forever. Of these, 67 come from Merchant’s Favor vendors, 30 currently have dungeon sources, and two are listed as quest rewards.

Tailoring particularly benefits Mages, Priests, and Warlocks, since they can directly equip its Cloth armor. Bags, Reagent Bags, and several utility crafts remain useful to every class.

One of the most important changes is the addition of a dedicated Reagent Bag slot. Reagent Bags can carry profession materials without occupying one of your normal inventory bag slots, making them useful regardless of class or profession choice.

Forever also changes the skill-up ranges and materials for many older Tailoring recipes. This makes traditional Classic 1–300 routes less reliable without adjustment.

Tailoring specializations

Tailoring does not have formal specialization branches in WoW Forever.

Unlike Blacksmithing or Leatherworking, you do not choose between exclusive crafting paths. Every Tailor can potentially learn the same available patterns if the appropriate skill, recipe, reputation, and crafting-station requirements are met.

Instead, Forever creates specialization through the equipment itself, particularly the six new cloth families built around different schools of magic.

New Tailoring recipes in WoW Forever

The current Beta contains 180 new Tailoring recipes, most of which focus on additional Cloth equipment, bags, and progression gear.

New recipes begin appearing at low profession skill rather than being concentrated entirely around Level 60.

New Tailoring armor sets

Six major equipment families are designed around spell schools and healing.

Each family includes several armor slots, with the first Boots patterns appearing at skill 60. Gloves, Sashes, Circlets, Gowns, and Leggings become available as Tailoring progresses. Pasted text

This gives Cloth users a much easier way to target their preferred damage school while leveling instead of relying entirely on random quest or dungeon rewards.

For example, a Shadow-focused Priest or Warlock can deliberately pursue Shadow gear, while Frost and Fire Mages have separate crafted progression paths.

Filigreed Tailoring equipment

Forever also introduces Filigreed equipment, which combines spell-school bonuses with conventional attributes such as Intellect, Stamina, and Spirit.

Unlike many Merchant’s Favor armor patterns, Filigreed recipes are associated primarily with dungeon and world drops.

Early spell-family patterns begin at only 30 Favor, making them relatively accessible while leveling. Higher-level recipes eventually introduce reputation requirements alongside increased prices.

Many new Tailoring recipes also depend on other professions. Cerulean, Magenta, and Viridian Dye, for example, are produced through Alchemy and appear in new Cloth equipment and Reagent Bag recipes.

New Tailoring Reagent Bags

Reagent Bags are one of the most important new Tailoring features in WoW Forever.

Every character gains a dedicated Reagent Bag slot, allowing crafting materials to be carried separately from normal inventory bags. Tailors can create seven progressively larger versions.

The Linen Reagent Bag becomes available almost immediately at skill 5 and currently requires six Bolts of Linen Cloth and six Coarse Thread.

Later bags become much more expensive. The Mageweave version requires Mageweave, Heavy Silken Thread, Cerulean Dye, and Magenta Dye, while the 20-slot Bottomless Reagent Bag uses high-end materials including Runecloth, Mooncloth, Large Brilliant Shards, Pristine Leather, Pristine Hide, and Pristine Scale.

This broad material requirement makes high-level Reagent Bags an important intersection between multiple professions.

Other Tailoring bags

Tailoring retains its traditional bag categories alongside Reagent Bags.

Because every character needs inventory space, bags remain one of Tailoring’s broadest potential markets even for players who never wear Cloth armor.

Tailoring profession perks

Two additional Tailoring benefits have appeared in profession coverage:

However, these mechanics are not documented consistently enough in the latest Beta material to treat their implementation, unlock requirements, and exact values as final.

Cloak Embroidery

Some profession coverage describes profession-exclusive cloak enhancements providing bonuses such as:

Reported Embroidery

Intended benefit

Attack Power

Physical damage

Spell Power

Spell damage

Stamina

Survivability

Mobalytics continues to list these Tailoring bonuses, while the latest dedicated Tailoring databases focus instead on the profession’s confirmed recipes, Reagent Bags, and Camping features.

For now, exact Embroidery ranks, stat values, and unlock requirements are TBA.

Additional cloth drops

Tailors have also been reported to gain additional Cloth when defeating humanoid enemies.

This would naturally make the profession easier to level and provide extra materials for bags and equipment. However, the current client-based Tailoring databases do not document a clear unlock or numerical drop-rate bonus.

Until it is consistently verified, do not include additional Cloth in a material shopping calculation.

Tailoring campsite features

Tailoring contributes three profession objects to the WoW Forever Camping system.

Camp item

Skill

Effect

Faction Banner

20

1 Bolt of Linen Cloth, 1 Coarse Thread

Grants Spirit to nearby same-faction players

Spinning Wheel

140

2 Simple Wood, 5 Bolts of Silk Cloth, 3 Fine Thread

Enables certain Tailoring crafts and keeps Banner benefits

Loom

300

1 Bottled Screams, 4 Bolts of Runecloth, 4 Simple Wood

Enables advanced Tailoring crafts and keeps Banner benefits

The Faction Banner is learned at skill 20 through a trainer or Camping introduction. Its Spirit bonus does not stack with Divine Spirit.

At skill 140, the Spinning Wheel becomes available. Certain Tailoring recipes require this crafting station, making Camping part of actual profession progression rather than simply a source of temporary buffs.

Blueprint: Spinning Wheel currently drops from Unstable Sentinel in the City of Dalaran.

At 300 Tailoring, you can place a Loom for high-level recipes that specifically require one. Its Blueprint exists in the current Beta data, but its acquisition source remains TBA.

Higher-tier campsite objects retain the Faction Banner’s lower-tier benefit, and profession object placement uses the shared Camping cooldown.

How to unlock Tailoring recipes

Additional equipment and crafting recipes

The latest recipe database currently lists 83 trainer recipes, 67 Merchant’s Favor patterns, 30 dungeon drops, and two quest rewards, although additional recipe sources remain unidentified.

Craftsman’s Writs also interact with Tailoring. These can request items such as Lesser Wizard’s Robe, Azure Silk Hood, Mageweave Bag, Shadoweave Robe, or Runecloth Bag.

Completing Writs increases reputation with the new profession factions, helping unlock higher-tier Merchant’s Favor rewards.

Merchant’s Favor and Tailoring recipes

Merchant’s Favor is one of the largest new Tailoring recipe sources.

Players earn the currency by completing Waylaid Supply Crates. Reputation with the corresponding faction primarily comes from Craftsman’s Writs.

At 300 Tailoring, players can purchase Tailoring Certification for 1,000 Merchant’s Favor.

This unlocks the account-wide title:

A character still needs 300 Tailoring to display it.

Tailoring Legacy rewards and perks

225 Tailoring

300 Tailoring

Several Legacy perks are particularly useful to Tailors:

Working Overtime

Dedicated Study

Provides additional profession progression

Bartering

Reduces vendor purchase prices

Performance Bonus

Chance to receive additional Merchant’s Favor

Field Guide

Permanence

Extends applicable Camping buffs

Reagent Economy

Removes material costs from Tier 1 campsite features

Working Overtime can reduce the amount of Cloth, Thread, Dye, and other materials needed to reach higher skill levels, while Performance Bonus is particularly attractive for Tailors because the profession has 67 Merchant’s Favor patterns to collect.

How to level Tailoring in WoW Forever

Tailoring retains four traditional profession ranks and a maximum skill of 300.

These requirements are reflected by current Beta trainer data.

Tailoring progression is built primarily around converting raw Cloth into Bolts, then using those Bolts to create armor and bags.

WoW Forever Tailoring leveling 1-300 overview

A practical overview of the current Beta route looks like this:

Skill

Recommended crafting focus

1–30

Bolt of Linen Cloth

30–55

Linen Belt

55–80

Bolt of Woolen Cloth

80–95

Woolen Cape, Gray Woolen Shirt

95–125

Double-stitched Woolen Shoulders, Bolt of Silk Cloth

125–140

Gloves of Meditation

140–150

Bolt of Mageweave / Gloves of Meditation

150–170

Crimson Silk Vest

170–190

Crimson Silk Pantaloons

190–215

Black Mageweave Gloves

215–225

Mageweave Bag

225–300

Advanced Mageweave and Runecloth crafts; route remains provisional

The early route has been tested in the current Beta. For example, the first steps use 30 Bolts of Linen Cloth followed by Linen Belts, and keeping those early Bolts is recommended because later steps consume them.

The main difference from Classic is that several familiar Tailoring recipes change color sooner. Using an unchanged Classic leveling route can therefore result in additional crafts and wasted materials.

WoW Forever Tailoring trainers

Early Tailoring ranks are available from trainers in capital cities and selected leveling areas.

Rank

Alliance trainer

Horde trainer

Apprentice

Lawrence Schneider, Stormwind

Snang, Orgrimmar

Journeyman

Sellandus, Stormwind

Magar, Orgrimmar

Expert

Georgio Bolero, Stormwind

Josef Gregorian, Undercity

Artisan

Timothy Worthington, Theramore Isle

Daryl Stack, Tarren Mill

Journeyman requires 50 Tailoring and Level 10, Expert requires 125 and Level 20, while Artisan requires 200 Tailoring and Level 35.

Alliance players can learn Expert Tailoring from Georgio Bolero in Stormwind’s Mage Quarter. Once they reach 200 skill, Timothy Worthington in Theramore trains Artisan.

Horde players use Josef Gregorian for Expert and Daryl Stack in Tarren Mill for Artisan.

Skyborne characters also have Tailoring trainers on Zephras Isle, including trainers in Valanaar and Shen’dar Village.
