WoW Forever Enchanting overview

Enchanting remains a primary crafting profession with a maximum skill of 300. Its main resource loop also remains familiar: disenchant unwanted equipment into Dust, Essences, and Shards, then use those materials to enchant equipment or create new items.

Tailoring |
One of the biggest changes is that Enchanting can now produce considerably more actual equipment. New staves, off-hand items, wands, Druid Idols, Paladin Librams, and Shaman Totems turn the profession into another source of character upgrades rather than simply a way to improve gear obtained elsewhere.
Enchanting does not have profession specializations, so every Enchanter can eventually access the same pool of formulas as long as they meet the relevant skill, reputation, and recipe requirements.

New Enchanting recipes in WoW Forever

WoW Forever expands Enchanting well beyond conventional weapon, armor, and stat enchants.
New recipes include permanent enhancements alongside caster weapons, off-hands, Wands, and class relics.
New Enchanting equipment and relics

Wands |

Druid relics |
|
Paladin Librams |
Tenets of the Silver Hand, Libram of Invocation |
Paladin relics |
|
Shaman Totems |
Polished Driftwood Icon, Totem of Thunder |
Shaman relics |
This makes Enchanting considerably more useful while leveling. Casters can obtain profession-crafted weapon upgrades instead of depending entirely on quests, dungeon drops, and the Auction House.
Class relics are particularly noteworthy because Druids, Paladins, and Shamans gain another reliable source of equipment for a slot that traditionally had relatively limited options.
Notable new Enchanting formulas

Recipe costs increase substantially with profession skill. Early formulas begin at 45 Merchant’s Favor, while high-level formulas can reach 240 Favor and require Honored reputation.
Advanced Enchanting also continues to consume familiar materials such as Large Brilliant Shards and Greater Eternal Essences while introducing additional dyes and profession reagents.
New necklace and off-hand enchants
Forever adds two important equipment categories to Enchanting: necklaces and off-hands.
WoW Forever necklace enchants
Five necklace enchants are currently available in Beta data:

Deflection |
+5 Defense Skill |

All five currently cost 120 Merchant’s Favor and require Friendly reputation with Azeroth Commerce Authority or Durotar Supply and Logistics.
This gives every major role another permanent enhancement slot. Physical damage dealers can choose Strength or Agility, casters get Spell Power, healers receive a dedicated Healing option, and tanks can use Deflection.
WoW Forever off-hand enchants
Off-hand items also gain dedicated enhancements.

WoW Forever Enchanting perks
Enchanting receives its own personal combat bonus through profession-exclusive ring enchants.
|
Ring enchant type |

|---|---|
|
Attack Power |
Physical damage |
|
Spell Power |
Spell damage and hybrid builds |
|
Stamina |
Tanks and survivability |
These enhancements can only be placed on the Enchanter’s own rings and improve as profession progression advances. Applying one to a Bind on Equip ring also makes that ring Soulbound.
The exact stat scaling and final skill requirements remain subject to Beta changes.
Disenchanting and material conversion
Disenchanting remains the primary source of Enchanting materials. Green-quality or better equipment can be destroyed to produce magical Dust, Essences, and Shards appropriate to the item’s level.
Forever also adds new material-conversion recipes. One early example is Dust to Motes, which converts Strange Dust into Motes of Magic used by introductory Enchanting crafts. The current client also retains conversions and profession reagents such as Enchanted Leather and Enchanted Thorium.
This provides more flexibility when one type of Enchanting material is easier to obtain than another.
Enchanting campsite features

The Camping system gives Enchanters three profession-specific objects.
|
Camp item |
Skill |
Materials |
Effect |
|---|---|---|---|
|
Enchanted Lute |
20 |
1 Simple Wood, 1 Strange Dust |
Grants Armor, stats, and resistance bonuses |
|
Arcane Salvager |
140 |
2 Vision Dust, 1 Lesser Nether Essence |
Improves disenchanting and retains Lute benefits |
|
Arcane Forge |
300 |
1 Maker’s Spark, 2 Large Brilliant Shards, 4 Greater Eternal Essences |
Enables advanced crafts and retains Lute benefits |
The Enchanted Lute unlocks at skill 20. Nearby players who sit at the campsite can receive its defensive buff, which is mutually exclusive with Mark of the Wild.
The Arcane Salvager unlocks at 140 Enchanting and enables more efficient disenchanting. Its tooltip does not specify the exact numerical improvement, so it is safer to describe the effect this way rather than claim a fixed bonus to material yields.
Blueprint: Arcane Salvager is currently associated with the Shade of the Archmage in the City of Dalaran.
At 300 Enchanting, the Arcane Forge becomes the final campsite workstation. Certain high-level recipes specifically require it, and it preserves the benefits of the Enchanted Lute when placed. Its Blueprint source remains TBA.
Merchant’s Favor and Enchanting recipes

Merchant’s Favor is earned through Waylaid Supply Crates.
Players find or purchase crates, fill them with the requested goods, and turn them in at their faction’s trade camp. Craftsman’s Writs separately provide reputation with the same faction, which is needed for many higher-tier recipes.

Enchanting Legacy rewards and perks

Enchanting contributes directly to the WoW Forever Legacy System.
|
Enchanting milestone |
Legacy reward |
|---|---|
|
150 Enchanting |
1 Legacy Point |
|
225 Enchanting |
1 Legacy Point |
|
300 Enchanting |
1 Legacy Point |
These profession milestones reward the account the first time they are completed. Blizzard also allows Legacy Points to be spent independently on each character, meaning an Enchanter can focus heavily on profession-oriented perks even if another character uses a different setup.
Several Legacy perks are especially useful:
|
Legacy perk |
Enchanting benefit |
|---|---|
|
Working Overtime |
Improves the chance of gaining profession skill points |
|
Dedicated Study |
Provides additional profession skill progression |
|
Bartering |
Reduces vendor purchase prices |
|
Performance Bonus |
Chance to earn additional Merchant’s Favor |
|
Field Guide |
Reduces campsite feature cooldowns |
|
Permanence |
Extends applicable Camping buffs |
|
Reagent Economy |
Removes material costs from Tier 1 campsite features |
Working Overtime can reduce the number of expensive enchants needed to gain profession skill, while Performance Bonus is valuable when saving for multiple 120–240 Favor formulas.
How to level Enchanting in WoW Forever
Enchanting retains its four traditional ranks and maximum skill of 300.
|
Rank |

Character level |
|---|---|---|---|
|

75 |
0 |

Expert |
225 |

20 |
|
Artisan |
300 |
200 |
35 |
These requirements are reflected in current Beta trainer data.
Unlike Blacksmithing or Leatherworking, Enchanting does not depend on one gathering profession. Instead, your biggest limitation is usually the supply of uncommon and rare items to disenchant.
WoW Forever Enchanting leveling 1-300 overview
For this general profession overview, the progression can be summarized as:
|
Skill range |
Recommended crafting focus |
|---|---|
|
1–70 |
Runed Copper Rod and inexpensive early bracer/chest enchants |
|
70–150 |
Minor Absorption, early weapon enchants, Runed Silver Rod |
|
150–225 |
Mana Oils, Agility/Strength enchants, Lesser Wizard Oil |
|
225–300 |
Advanced armor enchants, Mana Oil, Greater Stamina, Runed Arcanite Rod |
The current Beta route includes several changes from Classic. In particular, Forever adds inexpensive early recipes that make the first portion of Enchanting cheaper to level.
Enchanters also need increasingly powerful Runed Enchanting Rods:
- Runed Copper Rod
- Runed Silver Rod
- Runed Golden Rod
- Runed Truesilver Rod
- Runed Arcanite Rod
The Silver, Golden, Truesilver, and Arcanite base rods are made by Blacksmiths, creating a direct profession dependency.
WoW Forever Enchanting trainers
Early Enchanting can be learned in major cities and several starting areas, while the advanced ranks require more travel.
|
Rank |
Alliance trainer |
Horde trainer |
|---|---|---|
|
Apprentice |
Betty Quin, Stormwind |
Jhag, Orgrimmar |
|
Journeyman |
Lucan Cordell, Stormwind |
Godan, Orgrimmar |
|
Expert |
Kitta Firewind, Tower of Azora |
Hgarth, Sun Rock Retreat |
|
Artisan |
Annora, Uldaman |
Annora, Uldaman |
Journeyman requires 50 Enchanting and Level 10, Expert requires 125 and Level 20, and Artisan requires 200 Enchanting and Level 35.
Artisan Enchanting remains one of the less convenient profession ranks to learn because Annora is inside Uldaman. You need to reach her location and clear nearby enemies before she becomes available.
Because she also teaches advanced formulas, it is worth arriving prepared to learn everything you need rather than making repeated trips into the dungeon.
And that wraps up our WoW Forever Enchanting guide.
WoW Forever Enchanting FAQ
What is the best profession to pair with Enchanting?
Tailoring is the best profession to pair with Enchanting in WoW Forever. Tailoring turns Cloth dropped by humanoid enemies into equipment, which can then be disenchanted into Dust, Essences, and Shards. Neither profession requires a traditional gathering profession, making the combination particularly convenient for cloth-wearing characters.
Does Enchanting have specializations in WoW Forever?
No. Enchanting does not have separate specialization branches like Blacksmithing or Leatherworking.
Every Enchanter can eventually learn the same formulas as long as the character meets the relevant profession skill, reputation, recipe, and source requirements.
