The Healing Potion change is especially significant. Minor through Major Healing Potion are now First Aid recipes, meaning every character can access that progression without taking Alchemy as one of their two primary professions.
Alchemy still retains unusual healing options of its own, including the new Discolored Healing Potion family, but these come with negative secondary effects and fill a different niche from the standard First Aid potions.
New Alchemy recipes in WoW Forever

Forever’s new Alchemy recipes cover several categories rather than concentrating all additions at Level 60.
The biggest groups include combat potions, Mana consumables, role-specific elixirs, four specialized endgame flasks, new crafting dyes, and additional transmutations.
New Alchemy potions
Alchemy gains several new potion families designed around short combat windows or utility.
|
Potion |
Main effect |
|---|---|
|
Mender’s Potion |
Restores Mana |
|
Spellblasting Potion |
Temporarily increases Spell Damage |
|
Frenzy Potion |
Temporarily increases Attack Power |
|
Dragonfire Potion |
Deals Fire damage in a frontal cone |
|
Disorienting Smog Potion |
Creates an area that reduces enemy Hit Chance |
|
Caustic Smog Potion |
Creates an area dealing Nature damage |
|
Discolored Healing Potion |
Restores Health with a negative secondary effect |
Spellblasting and Frenzy Potions create dedicated offensive consumable families that scale into stronger versions at higher Alchemy skill. Merchant’s Favor vendors sell several of these recipes throughout progression.
Dragonfire Potion is more unusual, dealing immediate Fire damage in a cone before applying additional damage. The Smog recipes similarly create positional utility rather than simply increasing a character stat.
These additions help compensate for the loss of standard Healing Potions by giving Alchemists more specialized tools.
New Alchemy elixirs
Forever also adds new elixirs for multiple character roles.
|
Elixir |
Current effect |
|---|---|
|
Lesser Mageblood Elixir |
+6 Mana every 5 seconds |
|
Lesser Cleric’s Elixir |
Up to +20 Healing |
|
Cleric’s Elixir |
Up to +30 Healing |
|
Elixir of the Phalanx |
+400 Health and +500 Armor |
|
Elixir of the Whale |
+25 Spirit and +2% Critical Strike Chance |
|
Elixir of Wicked Regeneration |
Restores Health and Mana every 5 seconds |
|
Elixir of the Grizzly |
Strength and Critical Strike bonus |
The expanded selection gives tanks, healers, casters, melee characters, and hybrids additional options rather than funneling most characters into the same small set of Classic consumables.
Several of the highest-level new elixirs are tied to Merchant’s Favor and Honored reputation, making trade-faction progression important for serious Alchemists.
New WoW Forever Alchemy flasks
Four new flasks appear at 300 Alchemy. They are particularly important because their strongest bonuses are designed around Forever’s new Level 60 endgame regions.
|
Flask |
Base effect |
Extra effect in Mount Hyjal, Hyjal Summit, and Barrow Deeps |
|---|---|---|
|
Flask of Natural Accuracy |
+60 Stamina |
+5% Hit Chance |
|
Flask of Natural Aggression |
+60 Stamina |
+4% Critical Strike Chance |
|
Flask of Natural Precision |
+60 Stamina |
5% reduced chance to be dodged or parried |
|
Flask of Natural Swiftness |
+60 Stamina |
+5% Haste |
Each lasts two hours, persists through death, and is mutually exclusive with other Flask effects. Outside the listed regions, the character still receives the 60 Stamina but not the specialized secondary bonus.
All four recipes require 300 Alchemy and use the new Death Lotus reagent alongside large quantities of high-level herbs and an Imbued Vial.
Their recipe items currently exist in Beta data, but acquisition sources remain TBA.
New Alchemy transmutations and dyes
Alchemy also plays an important role in supplying other professions.
One of the most significant additions is Transmute: Legionite, which converts high-level materials into Legionite Bars.
|
New craft |
Alchemy |
Purpose |
|---|---|---|
|
Cerulean Dye |
40–50 depending on current dataset |
Crafting reagent |
|
Magenta Dye |
120 |
Crafting reagent |
|
Viridian Dye |
220 |
Advanced crafting reagent |
|
Transmute: Legionite |
275 |
Creates Legionite Bar |
Legionite is used in new high-level Blacksmithing recipes, making Alchemists part of another profession’s supply chain rather than only consumable production.
The new dyes serve a similar purpose for professions including Tailoring and Enchanting.
Traditional transmutes, including Arcanite and elemental conversions, also remain part of Alchemy.
WoW Forever Alchemy perks
Alchemy’s reported personal profession bonus is Mixology.
Current profession coverage describes Mixology as improving the Alchemist’s own elixirs and flasks:
|
Mixology effect |
Reported bonus |
|---|---|
|
Elixir and Flask strength |
+25% |
|
Duration |
100% longer |
|
Potions |
Not affected |
|
Who receives it |
The Alchemist |
Icy Veins currently lists the perk as doubling duration and increasing effects by 25%.
However, the underlying Beta data and player testing have not documented Mixology as consistently as systems such as the new recipes, Camping objects, or Merchant’s Favor progression. For that reason, the exact bonus should remain marked as Beta/provisional until its implementation is fully confirmed.
Philosopher’s Stone and transmutations
The Philosopher’s Stone remains the key tool for Alchemy transmutations.
These recipes convert one crafting resource into another and can be particularly valuable when the resulting material is difficult to obtain through normal gathering. Most traditional transmutations also retain cooldown restrictions.
The Beta database additionally contains an Alchemist’s Stone trinket recipe at high profession skill, but any broader upgrade progression attached to it remains insufficiently verified for this overview.
Alchemy campsite features

The Camping system gives Alchemists three profession-specific objects.
|
Camp item |
Skill |
Materials |
Effect |
|---|---|---|---|
|
Mana Well |
20 |
1 Peacebloom, 1 Empty Vial |
Grants Mana regeneration while seated |
|
Fermenter |
140 |
1 Leaded Vial, 1 Kingsblood, 1 Swiftthistle |
Enables certain Alchemy crafts and keeps Mana Well benefits |
|
Alchemy Laboratory |
300 |
1 Lich’s Index Finger, 1 Crystal Vial, 2 Dreamfoil |
Provides an Alchemy Lab and keeps Mana Well benefits |
The Mana Well is learned at skill 20 from a trainer or the profession’s Camping introduction. Its Mana regeneration buff does not stack with Blessing of Wisdom.
At 140 Alchemy, the Fermenter becomes available. It acts as a profession workstation for selected reagents while continuing to provide the Mana Well effect.
Blueprint: Fermenter currently drops from Rath’mael in the Ruins of Lordaeron.
At 300, Alchemists can construct the Alchemy Laboratory, allowing recipes that require an Alchemy Lab to be crafted directly at a campsite. Its Blueprint exists in Beta data, but the acquisition source remains TBA.
Higher-tier profession objects replace the previous object without removing its lower-tier benefits. Camping objects also share the system’s one-hour placement cooldown.
How to unlock Alchemy recipes
Alchemy recipes come from several sources:
|
Recipe source |
What to expect |
|---|---|
|
Alchemy trainers |
Basic potions, elixirs, oils, dyes, and early recipes |
|
Merchant’s Favor vendors |
New combat potions and specialized elixirs |
|
Dungeon bosses |
Camping Blueprints and selected recipes |
|
World drops |
Rare or specialized formulas |
|
Quests |
Selected profession rewards |
|
Other vendors |
Traditional and reputation-based recipes |
The new profession system deliberately distributes recipes throughout the world instead of placing everything on trainers. Blizzard has also confirmed that advanced Camping Blueprints come from dungeon bosses.
Some advanced Alchemy crafts require either a Fermenter or Alchemy Laboratory, while transmutations continue to require a Philosopher’s Stone.
Merchant’s Favor and Alchemy recipes

Merchant’s Favor is one of the main sources of new Alchemy recipes.
Players obtain the currency by completing Waylaid Supply Crates and handing them to either the Azeroth Commerce Authority or Durotar Supply and Logistics. Craftsman’s Writs provide reputation with those factions, which is required for several higher-level recipes.

Nina Surefire is around /way 10.8 72.5, while Apothecary Durelle is around /way 49.8 29.5.
The vendors currently offer 29 Alchemy recipes plus the profession Certification.

The progression moves from 45 Favor for early recipes to 120, 180, and finally 240 for advanced formulas.
At 300 Alchemy, players can also purchase Alchemy Certification for 1,000 Merchant’s Favor.
This permanently unlocks the account-wide title:
the Alchemist
A character must still have 300 Alchemy to display the profession title.
Alchemy Legacy rewards and perks

Alchemy contributes directly to the WoW Forever Legacy System.

These rewards are earned the first time the account completes each milestone. Blizzard confirms that reaching 150 in a non-gathering primary profession can even be one of the earliest ways to unlock the Legacy System.
Several Legacy perks are particularly useful for Alchemists:
|
Legacy perk |
Alchemy benefit |
|---|---|
|
Working Overtime |
Improves the chance to gain profession skill points |
|
Dedicated Study |
Provides additional tradeskill progression |
|

|

Working Overtime can reduce the number of herbs required while leveling, while Performance Bonus helps players collecting the profession’s 29 Merchant’s Favor recipes. Blizzard directly confirms Working Overtime, Bartering, Performance Bonus, Permanence, and Reagent Economy as profession-related Legacy perks.

WoW Forever Alchemy leveling 1-300 overview
The major difference from Classic is that Healing Potions can no longer be used as Alchemy skill-up recipes, since that entire recipe family now belongs to First Aid.
A practical overview looks like this:
|
Skill range |
Recommended crafting focus |
|---|---|
|
1–55 |
Minor Arcane Elixir, Elixir of Minor Defense |
|
55–90 |
Minor Mana Potion, Elixir of Minor Fortitude |
|
90–130 |
Elixir of Wisdom, Lesser Mana Potion |
|
130–165 |
Fire Oil, Elixir of Fire Power |
|
165–195 |

|
195–230 |

|
230–265 |
Draught of Detect Undead |
|
265–290 |
Superior Mana Potion, Elixir of Greater Defense |
|
290–300 |
Major Frenzy Potion or another efficient advanced craft |
The first 225 points can be tested much more reliably inside the current Beta. The Artisan portion remains partly provisional because the character cap prevents normal Level 35+ progression from being fully tested.
Major Frenzy Potion is one potential way to finish the final ten skill points. It requires 290 Alchemy and currently costs 240 Merchant’s Favor at Honored reputation.
WoW Forever Alchemy trainers
Early Alchemy ranks are available from trainers in capitals and leveling areas, while Expert and Artisan require more specific trainers.
|

|---|---|---|

Kylanna Windwhisper is located in Feathermoon Stronghold, Rogvar is in Stonard, and Master Mycologist Shurome provides a neutral Artisan option at the Emerald Sanctuary.
Skyborne characters also have Alchemy trainers on Zephras Isle, allowing the profession to be started without immediately leaving the new leveling experience.
And that wraps up our WoW Forever Alchemy guide.
WoW Forever Alchemy FAQ
What is the best profession to pair with Alchemy?
Herbalism is the best profession to pair with Alchemy in WoW Forever.
Most Alchemy recipes consume herbs, making Herbalism the simplest way to reduce leveling and consumable costs.
The profession also gains additional herbs and gathering systems in Forever, creating an obvious supply chain between the two professions.
Are Healing Potions made by Alchemy in WoW Forever?
No. Standard Healing Potions are now crafted through First Aid.
Minor, Lesser, regular, Greater, Superior, and Major Healing Potions all belong to First Aid in the current Beta. Because First Aid is a secondary profession, every character can learn it without sacrificing one of their two primary profession slots.
Does Alchemy have specializations in WoW Forever?
No. Alchemy does not currently have separate specialization branches.
All Alchemists use the same profession tree and can learn the same recipes if they meet the necessary skill, reputation, vendor, drop, or quest requirements.
