The best Warlock talents in WoW Forever depend on whether you play Affliction, Demonology, or Destruction. Affliction specializes in damage-over-time effects and draining enemies, Demonology strengthens your summoned demons, while Destruction focuses on powerful direct Fire and Shadow damage.

The current WoW Forever Beta is capped at Level 30, giving Warlocks 21 standard talent points. Level 60 characters will eventually have 51 points, but complete endgame builds remain preliminary while maximum-level encounters cannot yet be properly tested. Current talent data is based on the 1.60.1 Beta client.

Here are our recommended WoW Forever Warlock builds for the current Level 30 Beta and their preliminary Level 60 directions:

All three Warlock trees have much stronger individual identities than in original Classic. Affliction is built around DoTs and drains, Demonology can finally combine an active demon with Demonic Sacrifice through Demonic Pact, while Destruction progresses into a dedicated Fire caster centered around Incinerate.

Level 30 builds can already be tested directly. Level 60 setups remain theorycraft and may change as Blizzard continues Beta tuning.

Best Affliction Warlock talents in WoW Forever

The best Affliction Warlock talent build at Level 30 is 21/0/0, investing every available point into Affliction.

The build creates an efficient drain-tanking playstyle built around instant Corruption, stronger Drain Life casts, Nightfall procs, and Siphon Life.

Improved Corruption makes Corruption instant while increasing its damage by 10%, which makes spreading DoTs significantly easier while moving between enemies.

Improved Drains increases both the damage and healing of Drain Life, Drain Soul, and eventually Wrack. Fel Concentration then makes those channeled spells much harder for enemies to interrupt through damage.

Siphon Life becomes the final Level 30 point, adding another instant DoT that restores Health as it deals damage.

Affliction Warlock leveling talents

For Affliction Warlock leveling, use:

This creates one of the lowest-downtime leveling loops available to Warlock.

Apply Corruption and Bane of Agony, let your demon engage the target, then use Drain Life to deal damage while restoring the Health spent through Life Tap. Soul Harvest also rewards finishing enemies with Drain Soul by greatly improving Mana regeneration afterward.

Nightfall adds occasional instant Shadow Bolts, while Siphon Life further improves your sustain once you reach Level 30.

Level 60 Affliction Warlock build

A strong preliminary Level 60 Affliction Warlock build is 40/11/0.

Deep Affliction eventually adds:

• Pandemic
• Soul Siphon
• Shadow Mastery
• Full Malediction
• Wrack
• Improved DoT and drain talents

Wrack is the defining 31-point Affliction talent. It channels Shadow damage every second and causes the target to take 10% additional damage from your other Shadow DoTs while the channel is active.

This gives Affliction a real filler spell built specifically around its DoT gameplay instead of relying almost entirely on Shadow Bolt.

The supporting 11 Demonology points reach Demonic Sacrifice. Sacrificing an Imp provides increased Shadow damage for two hours, making it particularly useful for Affliction’s Shadow-focused endgame build.

40/11/0 is one of the strongest preliminary Level 60 directions, but exact supporting points can still change once raid encounters and final itemization become available.

Best Demonology Warlock talents in WoW Forever

The best Demonology Warlock talent build at Level 30 is 0/21/0.

Demonology is built around making your demon stronger, easier to maintain, and capable of holding enemies while you deal damage safely from range.

Demonic Embrace increases Stamina, while Fel Vitality improves both your own Mana and your demon’s Health and Mana.

Demonic Energies is particularly useful while leveling. Your spell damage heals your demon, while Mana gained through Life Tap can also restore your demon’s Mana.

The most important leveling talent is Demonic Brand. Casting Searing Pain brands the enemy, causing attacks from appropriate demons to deal additional damage and generate increased threat. This allows your Voidwalker to hold enemies much more reliably than in original Classic.

Demonology Warlock leveling talents

For Demonology Warlock leveling, use:

Demonology is one of the safest Warlock leveling options.

Send your Voidwalker into combat, use Searing Pain to apply Demonic Brand, then add Corruption and Bane of Agony while your demon maintains threat. Demonic Energies lets your normal damage continuously restore some of your pet’s Health.

Improved Voidwalker strengthens Torment, Consume Shadows, Sacrifice, and Suffering, making it easier for your demon to tank harder enemies and multi-target pulls.

Level 60 Demonology Warlock build

A strong preliminary Level 60 Demonology raid build is 0/31/20.

Deep Demonology eventually provides:

• Soul Link
• Demonic Knowledge
• Master Demonologist
• Demonic Pact
• Improved Sayaad
• Decimation
• Demonic Sacrifice

The defining ability is Demonic Pact. Demonic Sacrifice normally disappears when you summon another demon, but Demonic Pact allows you to maintain the sacrifice effect while fighting alongside a different pet.

This means you can sacrifice an Imp for increased Shadow damage and then summon a Succubus or Incubus, benefiting from both the sacrifice and the active demon.

Master Demonologist further changes its bonus depending on your demon. A Sayaad increases Shadow damage, a Voidwalker reduces Physical damage taken, an Imp increases Fire damage, and a Felhunter reduces Magic damage taken.

The 20 Destruction points provide stronger Shadow Bolt casting, critical damage, and other direct-damage improvements.

For solo Level 60 play, a more defensive 19/32/0 setup is another strong option, combining deep Demonology with Affliction’s instant Corruption and drain talents.

Best Destruction Warlock talents in WoW Forever

The best Destruction Warlock talent build at Level 30 is 0/0/21.

Destruction is the most burst-oriented Warlock specialization and focuses on faster direct casts, critical damage, Immolate, Conflagrate, and Shadowburn.

Bane reduces the cast time of Shadow Bolt, Immolate, Incinerate, and Soul Fire, while Aftermath increases Immolate’s initial damage and allows Conflagrate to slow enemies.

Ruin greatly increases the critical damage bonus of Destruction spells, providing the foundation for the specialization’s burst-focused playstyle.

Conflagrate becomes available much earlier than in original Classic and provides an instant Fire attack against targets affected by Immolate. Agonizing Flames then increases the damage of all Destruction spells.

Destruction Warlock leveling talents

For Destruction Warlock leveling, use:

The build starts relatively slowly but becomes much more active once Conflagrate unlocks at Level 25.

Open with Immolate, follow with your direct damage spells, then use Conflagrate for instant burst. Shadowburn provides another powerful finisher and refunds its Soul Shard when an eligible enemy dies shortly after being hit.

Destruction can kill enemies quickly, but direct casting generally consumes more Mana than Affliction’s drain-based leveling loop.

Level 60 Destruction Warlock build

A strong preliminary Level 60 Destruction Warlock build is 0/18/33.

Deep Destruction eventually provides:

• Fire and Brimstone
• Bane of Havoc
• Shadow and Flame
• Incinerate
• Conflagrate
• Shadowburn
• Ruin
• Agonizing Flames

Bane of Havoc places a five-minute effect on one enemy and redirects 15% of the damage you deal to other enemies back to the Baned target, giving Destruction a powerful cleave tool.

Shadow and Flame creates interaction between Destruction’s two damage schools. Conflagrate increases your Shadow damage, while Shadowburn increases your Fire damage. At maximum rank, the talent also prevents Conflagrate from consuming Immolate and lets Shadowburn refund its Soul Shard immediately.

The 31-point capstone Incinerate becomes Destruction’s dedicated Fire filler. It has a 2.5-second cast and deals additional damage when the target is affected by Immolate.

The supporting Demonology points provide useful damage and pet-related bonuses. Nearby splits such as 3/17/31 are also being explored, so 0/18/33 should remain a preliminary PvE direction rather than a locked launch build.

Best Warlock spec for leveling in WoW Forever

For general solo questing, Affliction is the best Warlock leveling spec in WoW Forever.

Instant Corruption, Bane of Agony, Siphon Life, Drain Life, and Life Tap create an extremely efficient resource loop. Instead of stopping to eat and drink after several enemies, Affliction can turn Health into Mana and then drain that Health back from the next target.

Demonology is our second recommendation. It is particularly strong for players who prefer safer pulls because Demonic Brand allows your demon to hold threat much more reliably, while Demonic Energies helps keep the pet alive with little downtime.

Destruction is the best choice if you prefer faster direct casting and burst damage. Conflagrate, Shadowburn, Ruin, and eventually Incinerate provide considerably more immediate damage, but Destruction generally spends more Mana to achieve it.

Warlock pets also work considerably better in Forever. Pets now scale from their summoner’s stats, while the Voidwalker has improved threat tools and Demonology can build specifically around having a demon tank enemies.

Banes are another major class-wide change. Bane of Agony and Bane of Doom no longer occupy the same category as utility Curses, so a Warlock can maintain a damaging Bane and something like Curse of the Elements on the same target.
