Destiny 2 Season of the Witch Exploit: Trials in Chaos

Guardians have stumbled upon a game-breaking exploit in Destiny 2 Season of the Witch that plunges Trials of Osiris into a state of chaos. Players have found a way to create a hybrid combination of Exotic-Legendary. By taking advantage of a recently surfaced bug, they are able to transfer the powerful perks of Exotic weapons onto their Legendary equipment. And so, they now have the power akin to wielding multiple Exotics at once.

Exotic weapons are the crown jewels of Destiny 2. These arms are known for their unique perks and unrivaled power. Usually, players can only carry one Exotic weapon and one armor piece of the same type in their loadout. This limitation has long shaped the strategic landscape of the game. However, the recent exploit has shattered this established rule to pieces.

The exploit came to light on September 15. It revolves around the crafting process for an Exotic weapon. More specifically, to trigger the bug, a player only needs to follow two simple steps:

And the game will do the rest by transferring Exotic’s powerful perks to the Legendary item. Thus resulting in formidable combinations that disrupt both PvP and PvE scenarios.

What sets this situation apart is Bungie’s response. Instead of promptly taking Trials of Osiris or PvP offline as usual, Bungie has encouraged players to “have some fun.” It’s a departure from Bungie’s usual approach of swiftly addressing such issues.

However, one thing is certain. Bungie might opt to temporarily disable Trials of Osiris if the situation escalates. So, for now, enjoy the madness while it lasts.
