What are Void Assaults in Midnight
Void Assaults is another assault system similar to Legion Assaults from patch 7.1. However there are clear differences. Void Assaults are split into two parts:
- Void Strikes that take place in either Eversong Woods or Zul’Aman on a weekly rotation. These are continuous events, with a new one appearing in a different part of the zone as soon as the previous one ends.
- Void Incursions that trigger once enough Void Strikes have been completed in the zone. These are larger-scale scenarios that require more players to complete.
Void Assaults reward Field Accolades and count as World Content for the Great Vault. Field Accolades are a patch-specific currency used to purchase Champion and Hero-quality gear from vendors. The introductory questline starts with Void Strike, offered by Ranger Captain Lilatha in Silvermoon City.
Completing this quest rewards a Ranger’s Cache containing useful items, including Coffer Key Shards, Champion Dawncrests, Field Accolades, and Voidlight Marl.
Note
Dawncrest rewards depend on the Tier. Tiers 1–3 grant 5, 10, and 15 Champion Dawncrests. Tiers 4–5 instead reward 10 and 15 Hero Dawncrests.
How to complete Void Incursions in Midnight
To trigger Void Incursion you have to complete Void Strikes as well as other players in the zone. Once Void Incursion event triggers you would be able to partake in the event. Void Incursions are multi-stage events that begin with a short 2-minute preparation phase, allowing players to set up defenses before waves of enemies start attacking.
After surviving the initial assault, players will move into different stages to help repel the Void forces, eventually leading to a final encounter with the Void Imperator. Defeating this mini-boss rewards a Field Satchel, which contains the same items as a Ranger’s Cache but gives larger quantities of rewards.
Note
Void Incursions also count toward the World Content row of the Great Vault and can reward 246 item-level Champion-track gear.
