When Midnight Season 2 releases

With no official Blizzard announcement, the most probable release date is August 11, or later in August. We take a deeper look at the possible release window in our Patch 12.1 release date speculation article.
Things to do before Midnight Season 2
When deciding what to do before Midnight Season 2, focusing on one goal is the best approach. Most Season 1 activities can be divided into Mythic+, raids, PvP, Delves, and various achievements. Picking one type of content lets you make steady progress toward exclusive rewards much faster. Many of these rewards will become much harder to obtain(or disappear entirely) once Season 2 begins.
Concentrating your efforts on one type of content will maximize your rewards and help you achieve these prestigious feats more efficiently.
Midnight tier 1 rads: Mounts

The biggest reason to clear Midnight Season 1 raids is Ashes of Belo’ren, whose drop rate will be significantly reduced once Season 2 starts. You should also complete four clears of Sporefall to earn the Luminous Sporeglider mount while LFG groups are still relevant.
If you’re chasing achievements, this is also the perfect time to work on Ahead of the Curve, Cutting Edge, and Glory of the Midnight Raider, all of which become either less popular (Like LFGs for Glory) or irrelevant (AotC and Cutting Edge).
Midnight Season 1 Mythic+

Midnight Season 1 Mythic+ offers several exclusive rewards, including Convalescent Carrion, the Timelost Saddle, and the most prestigious Umbral Ashes mount for the highest-rated players in top 1% of leaderboard.
All of these are not easy achievements and require time, skill, and lots of dedication. We assembled a guide on how to achieve all of Mythic Keystone milestones.
Midnight Season 1 PvP rewards

Like every WoW season, Midnight Season 1 features exclusive PvP rewards. The biggest prize is the Galactic Gladiator’s Goredrake, which will never return after the season ends just like any other Gladiator mount.
You can also earn progress toward a Vicious Saddle, which remains available in later seasons. If PvP is your main focus, this is your last chance to secure seasonal achievements such as Gladiator, Elite, and Legend before they’re replaced with Season 2 ones.
Things to do before Midnight: World content

Delves remain one of Midnight core systems and are still worth running before Season 2 launches. Ofcourse the first thing that comes to mind is a new Nemesis – Nullaeus which features Midnight Season 1 exclusive rewards. Nullaeus requires both good gear and skillful display, so be sure to check our guide.
Prey Season 1 rewards

You’ve probably already completed most of the Prey activities, as the rewards from this system have been incredibly worthwhile throughout Season 1. However, if you’ve missed out on Prey, be sure to catch up before Season 2 launches. The system features two mounts earned through Midnight Season 1 progression: Preyseeker’s Hubris and Preyseeker’s Wrath. Run enough Prey hunts to earn both before the season ends.
Preyseeker’s Nightmare is another exclusive Season 1 reward, obtained by completing the Prey: Nightmare Mode III achievement. The requirement is fairly straightforward, complete all Prey hunts on Nightmare difficulty, and the mount will be yours.
Things to do before Midnight Season 2: Turbulent Timeways

Patch 12.0.7 once again brings back Turbulent Timeways, one of the best events for leveling alts while collecting extra rewards. Besides granting bonus Timewalking Badges, the event also rewards an exclusive mount and makes Timewalking dungeons much more rewarding.
If you’re planning to level multiple characters before Season 2, this should be one of your highest priorities.
Midnight meta achievement: Light Up the Night

Just like previous expansions, Midnight features its own meta-achievement, Light Up the Night. While it’s not particularly difficult to complete, it’s much more convenient to finish before Season 2 activities kick in. Be sure to check out our dedicated guide to complete it as efficiently as possible.
Leveling your alts

With Season 2 around the corner, now is the perfect time to level your alts, or a new Haranir for the transmog appearance unlock. Timewalking dungeons, Delves, and event bonuses provide some of the fastest leveling currently available.
