Who Is Malfurion Stormrage in WoW

Malfurion Stormrage holds a central role in the World of Warcraft universe. As a Night Elf, he stands as the first mortal druid in Azeroth. He was the one who introduced the practice of druidism among his kin some ten millennia ago under the guidance of the demigod Cenarius. He’s the twin brother of Illidan Stormrage, husband to Tyrande Whisperwind, and father to his adopted daughter Shandris. Malfurion is often affectionately addressed as Shan’do, meaning “honored teacher” in Darnassian. He’s renowned as one of the most powerful and esteemed mortals in the Warcraft universe.

In the latest development regarding his fate, Malfurion sacrificed himself to resurrect Ysera, allowing her to leave Ardenweald. For her to return to life, he had to take her place in death. However, somehow, Malfurion has come back in Patch 10.2.5. The details of his arrival are not explicitly stated. Given the nature of the Shadowlands and his connection to the Emerald Dream, there may be a logical explanation for this event. However, we will have to wait and see what it is.

For now, fans are only glad to witness the heartwarming reunion between two of the most cherished characters in the WoW franchise.

I think you misunderstood the whole Malfurion/Ysera bond thing. Malfurion didn’t “sacrifice” himself to allow Ysera to come back to Azeroth, he merely stayed behind in the shadowlands to hold the bond that Ysera had with Ardenweald that the Winter Queen created. Now that Ysera has come back to the Shadowlands after Amir’drassil transferred to Azeroth, the bond has been transferred back from Malfurion to Ysera, so Malfurion’s now free to return to Azeroth again.
