RWF controversy: top guilds suspected of using Undermine reputation exploit
Some members of Team Liquid and Echo are suspected of exploiting the reputation system to gain an unfair advantage before the Race to World First even begins.

Thanks to LofiBanshee, a possible exploit used by top guild members before the start of the RWF has been discovered. By using it, they could gain an unfair advantage in the race. It’s unclear whether this was an intentional abuse of a bug or just a glitch. Blizzard has responded, promising to fix the exploit, but no bans or other measures have been announced.

Exploit details
LofiBanshee discovered that Gingi from Echo, Liptwelve from Liquid are using an exploit to gain extra damage and healing buffs against the Liberation of Undermine bosses in the upcoming RWF. This exploit takes advantage of rewards from the Gallagio Loyalty Club Renown system.
Right now, players can’t earn any reputation points for this faction. The only legal way to gain it is by defeating Liberation of Undermine bosses. We discussed this in detail in our Gallagio Loyalty Club Rewards guide.
So, some players already have Gallagio Loyalty Club reputation before the RWF starts and before the raid even opens. This looks suspicious. However, unlocking any damage or healing buffs requires Renown level 4, and these players have only reached levels 2 and 3 so far. So, they don’t have any competitive advantage yet.

How the exploit works
While the exploit itself isn’t difficult to perform, players need to engage in multi-accounting and communicate with an NPC to reach the damage buff territory.
We won’t share how to perform this exploit because we strongly oppose cheating and gaining an unfair advantage in games.
Impact on gameplay

This exploit allows players to gain Gallagio Loyalty Club Renown system rewards. At 4 Renown level all players will get 3% increase to damage and healing inside the raid. While a few percentage points may not seem significant, in the Race to World First, every small advantage matters.
Blizzard response
Previously, Blizzard announced a zero-tolerance policy for exploit abuse, and there have been cases where players faced the threat of a ban for similar violations. Moreover, in a past RWF event in Nerub’ar, players who discovered and abused a similar reputation exploit were banned.
Blizzard is aware of the current issue and will be resetting reputation progress tomorrow to address the exploit. They have not made any announcements regarding bans.
What players need to know
Don’t use this exploit to gain an unfair advantage in the Liberation of Undermine. If you accidentally gain Renown points, don’t worry—Blizzard will reset all players’ progress as part of their corrective actions. If you reach Renown level 4 before the raid opens, avoid using that character for raiding until the reset.
The Race to World First is an intense competition, with participants willing to go to great lengths to secure first place. Unfortunately, there have been instances of cheating and exploit abuse in the past. However, most top guild players are committed to fair competition and strongly oppose the use of exploits or other unfair tactics.
