What is WoW Race to World First
WoW Race to World First, or RWF, is a highly anticipated community-driven competition. Elite guilds from all over the globe vie for the honor of being the first to conquer the latest and most challenging raid content. Race to World First WoW kicks off whenever Blizzard releases a new raid, typically alongside a major expansion or patch.
Blizzard doesn’t officially organize the RWF. It’s an event by the players for the players from players for players. Supported by sponsors and organizations, RWF has grown into a massive event that captivates thousands of fans to live streams.
Race to World First Nerub’ar Palace raid progress
Nerub’ar Palace marks the first raid of WoW’s 10th expansion, The War Within. This web-structured raid opens its Mythic difficulty on September 17, 2024, hosting eight bosses, with Queen Ansurek reigning as the final challenge. This year’s WoW World First race comes with some unique twists. Several top guilds have members banned due to the reputation exploit. On the bright side, WoW has returned to China, allowing Chinese guilds to rejoin the race, with Nicewater recently claiming the World First on Heroic Ansurek.

WoW Race to World First: Nerub’ar Palace live coverage
September 17: Day 1
Bosses buffed and nerfed before WoW TWW RWF
Terrazel:
Several bosses in Nerub-ar Palace received changes just moments before the start of the Nerub’ar RWF:
- Bloodbound Horror and Silken Court: Buffed.
- Sikran: Nerfed.
- Rasha’nan and Ky’veza: Mixed adjustments.
The first day of TWW Race to World First for Mythic Nerub’ar began with top guilds like Liquid farming gear through splits.
World First Ulgrax and Mythic Bloodbound on Mythic
The first day of the Nerub’ar Palace RWF has just begun, and Melee Mechanics quickly claimed the World First kill of Mythic Ulgrax. Shortly after, they secured another World First by defeating Mythic Bloodbound.
Few guilds were in Mythic mode, aside from Melee Mechanics and The Early Shift. After securing two World Firsts and downing Sikran’s HP to 30%, Melee Mechanics returned to Heroic splits. It remains to be seen if they will deliver more action on this first day.
Other top guilds continue to farm gear through splits.
World First Sikran, Captain of the Sureki on Mythic
Liquid entered the Nerub’ar Palace race during the second half of the day, quickly securing their first kill in the Mythic raid by downing Ulgrax and claiming the World 2nd. They maintained their momentum by following up with a World 2nd kill on Bloodbound Horror in a single pull.
However, the highlight of their performance came when Liquid achieved their first World First WoW kill of the Nerub’ar Palace raid, one-shotting Sikran, Captain of the Sureki. Despite two deaths during the fight, the kill was relatively smooth, putting Liquid at 3/8 bosses defeated in Mythic.
World First Rasha’nan on Mythic
Liquid secured their second World First in Nerub’ar by easily defeating Rasha’nan, marking 4/8 bosses cleared in the Nerub-ar Palace raid. Impressively, they achieved this without any wipes and now prepared to face Nexus-Princess Ky’veza.
The Nexus-Princess Ky’veza was the first boss to wipe Liquid. After only two pulls, the team decided to shift their focus to Broodtwister Ovi’nax. This pivot allowed them to gather more gear or data before resuming attempts on Ky’veza. To further strengthen their setup, Liquid returned to Heroic splits after testing both bosses, likely aiming to gear up before making additional Mythic attempts.
Liquid had a highly successful first day, achieving World First race WoW kills on the first four Mythic bosses. They faced some challenges with Rasha’nan, reaching the soft-enrage before securing the kill. With an item level of ~614, their gear is expected to improve as they continue their gear farming.
End of day Mythic Nerub’ar recap:
- Liquid: 4/8 bosses down
- xD and poptart corndoG: 3/8 bosses down
- Melee Mechanics, vodka, Vesper, and Nurfed: 2/8 bosses down
- Mesmerize: 1/8 bosses down
September 18: Day 2
The second day arrived. Echo and Method joined the WoW World First race. They continued to focus on splitting Heroic, postponing attempts on Queen Ansurek for the time being. They are anticipated to make similar progress in RWF Nerub’ar Palace Mythic on the first four bosses and may try their hands at Broodtwister Ovi’nax or Nexus-Princess Ky’veza later in the day.
Animelin:
Honolulu has joined the race and managed to defeat the first three bosses. But after struggling with Rasha’nan for over eight wipes, they decided to have lunch and continue with splits. 3/8 is their result right now.
One more OCE guild, HoNestly, joined the race. Ulgrax is defeated, and we might see The Bloodbound Horror next.
Another OCE guild, Cope, which had started earlier, finally defeated Sikran and took world 6th.
Indecent slain Ulgrax, making a total of 3 OCE guilds to take him down.
Felicie:
Echo entered Mythic Nerub-ar Palace for the first time this week, defeating Ulgrax, Bloodbound Horror, and Sikran. A little later, the team overpowered Rasha’nan on their second attempt, bringing Echo to 4/8M and tying with Liquid for the top spot! Currently, it looks like they’re targeting Ovi’nax next.
As for Method, they jumped into action, defeating Ulgrax on their second attempt and the Bloodbound Horror afterward. Like Echo and Liquid, the team overpowered Sikran, and after a decent break, Method came back strong, defeating Rasha’nan to claim world third place!
Terrazel:
As expected, Echo, Liquid, and Method have started to lead the charge in War Within Race to World First, each defeating the first four bosses and now either contending with Broodtwister Ovi’nax or Nexus-Princess Ky’veza.
Currently:
- 8 guilds are at 3/8: poptart corndoG, xD (NA), Cope (OCE), End Myth (China), Honolulu, Advance, RAK Gaming, and Reversion (EU).
- 9 guilds are at 2/8.
- 33 guilds have slain at least one Mythic boss.
- 683 guilds have fully cleared Heroic.
- 9685 have killed at least one Heroic boss.
- 13,648 have cleared Normal.
As Method wrapped up their day, Liquid improved to 66% on Broodtwister and pushed further to 61.7%. Meanwhile, Reversion secured the World 4th kill on Rasha’nan, achieving 4/8 before calling it a night.
Despite guilds amassing significant gear, Broodtwister Ovi’nax remained undefeated. The pace of the Nerub’ar Race to World First (RWF) has slowed considerably, especially compared to the first four War Within World Firsts.
Liquid was making notable progress in this WoW Race to World First, reaching all three empowered egg phases and bringing Broodtwister down to 48% on pull 17, despite multiple deaths. After a break due to server issues, Liquid returned to push Broodtwister further, dropping its health to 33%. Meanwhile, Рак Гейминг, Vex Thal, and Vulgar scored a win over Sikran, securing the World 14th kill and moving to 3/8.
Instant Dollars entered Mythic, joining a seven-way race at Rasha’nan with xD, Vesper, Vulgar, Melee Mechanics, Strawberry Puppy Kisses, and Vision. In the end, xD was the first to break free from the pack, followed soon after by Strawberry Puppy Kisses and Instant Dollars.
End Myth quickly reached 4/8 Mythic after the Chinese weekly reset, securing 10th place in this race to World First TWW. Vulgar progressed on Nexus-Princess Ky’veza, closing in on Method, but then switched to Broodtwister Ovi’nax, reaching 80.8% on their first pull and moving into third place.
Melee Mechanics surpassed both Vulgar and Method, hitting 77.29% on their fifth pull, placing them second. DMG killed Rasha’nan, joining 13 guilds at 4/8 Mythic. Liquid continued to lead on Broodtwister Ovi’nax, setting a new best pull at 29.4%.
September 19: Day 3
Both Echo and End Myth started their pulls on Broodtwister Ovi’nax. However, Echo soon returned to M+ farming. End Myth advanced on Broodtwister Ovi’nax, achieving 83% after 13 pulls. Liquid ended their day after 77 pulls, with their best pull at 23.76%. Maximum from Liquid confirmed that Broodtwister Ovi’nax was easier than Nexus-Princess Ky’veza.
Animelin:
It seems like Method and Echo had enough of Broodtwister and are still in Mythic plus.
TW guild End Myth is doing well today. They have already defeated 4/8 bosses and now compete with Ovi’nax. 75.8% pull was the best so far.
Honestly just slained Rasha’nan and try to keep up with Cope. But they chose to try Ky’veza first. Their best attempt was 74.55%. Real challenge!
Broodtwister exhausted a few more guilds. Cope, Entropy, and Crimson are kinda exhausted. A break is needed.
We’ve heard Echo are almost on their way back to Ovi’nax. Into battle with renewed vigor!
End Myth is back on Broodtwister. 64.76% is much better. Is it a new comp or…?
Felicie:
Method are back in Mythic with two Blood Death Knight tanks and no third tank. They’ve also added a second Augmentation Evoker to support the AoE DPS classes during their cooldowns. Let’s see if this strategy works for them!
As for Echo, they made some progress in this race for World First War Within, bringing Ovi’nax down to 64.75% before getting overwhelmed by the boss and adds. It seems they might be focusing too much on AoE damage at this stage and could adjust their roster later by adding another healer or a class with serious single-target damage. Overall, the Ovi’nax fight seems a bit strange overall, as nothing really changes except more adds becoming empowered, and the healing demands are extremely high.
Regarding End Myth, they achieved a new best score, hitting 62.21%, which is a big improvement over their previous record.
Currently, both Echo and Method are progressing on Broodtwister Ovi’nax simultaneously. Meanwhile, Liquid have already made a strong mark with their performance earlier today/ yesterday. Max from Liquid shared his thoughts on Ovi’nax and Nexus-Princess, saying that the gear needed for both bosses and the tougher ones ahead makes him confident this won’t be a one-reset race.
Method hit a new best with 69.64%, closing in fast on Echo and Liquid. It’s shaping up to be an exciting 3-way Mythic World First race, and more guilds will be joining the action later today.
Echo has reached a new best attempt on Ovi’nax with a 40.91% pull! They’ve seen some of the final phases, and they’re steadily getting closer to defeating the boss.
Over the last 24 hours, the teams with 4/8 Mythic progress are mainly focused on Ovi’nax, with Liquid, Echo, and Method leading the charge. Meanwhile, only Honestly and Slack are working on Nexus-Princess Ky’veza.
Terrazel:
End Myth reached 4/8 Mythic RWF TWW, with their best pull at 61.5% on Broodtwister Ovi’nax. By 4:00 AM in China, they wrapped up their first day of progression, showing solid performance. Meanwhile, FatSharkYes entered Mythic, quickly taking down Ulgrax and advancing to 4/8. The late EU hours likely influenced their decision to pause for the night.
Liquid made some notable adjustments to their raid composition. However, their initial pull with the new setup on Broodtwister Ovi’nax didn’t go as planned, ending at 77%, forcing them to re-learn key aspects of the encounter. A brief analysis showed Liquid’s melee DPS stepping up as they adapted to the new strategy.
Currently:
- 124 guilds are at 1/8
- 88 guilds are at 2/8
- 77 guilds are at 3/8
- 44 guilds are at 4/8
Liquid made rapid progress with their revised strategy, bringing Broodtwister Ovi’nax down to 30% after just a few pulls. Meanwhile, Method wrapped up their night after an intense push, despite five players being sick, with their best attempt at 41%, recorded 20 pulls earlier. FatSharkYes advanced to 4/8 after defeating Rasha’nan, but with midnight approaching in the EU, they decided to stop for the night without trying Broodtwister or Princess.
Liquid nearly matched their earlier effort with a 26% pull. They then set a new record, getting Broodtwister down to just under 20%, proving their two-tank strategy was working well. If you want to take a look at Liquid casters’ post-fight analysis, here it is at 7:24:12.
Liquid is closing in on Broodtwister’s defeat, reaching a new best at 17%. Their strongest attempt brought Broodtwister to 7%. Are we seeing a 5/8 for this WoW TWW Race to World First soon?
Despite Broodtwister being considered the easier of the two remaining bosses, it still posed a serious challenge to guilds worldwide. Liquid managed an impressive attempt but couldn’t surpass their earlier 7% best. Meanwhile, guilds like gn and Vision began working on Broodtwister, adding competition to the progression race. Liquid then set a new best, getting the boss down to just under 4%, with their Death Knights nearly soloing it.
Other guilds, such as Instant Dollars and Refined started splitting their efforts between Broodtwister and Princess. gn made progress, reaching a 77% best pull on Broodtwister, edging ahead of Divinum but still trailing behind Echo, Method, and Ethical. Instant Dollars also advanced, getting Broodtwister down to 63%.
Liquid then had an excruciatingly close wipe at 1.2%, with their Blood Death Knights unable to finish off the boss in the final seconds. After this near miss, they took a dinner break. At this point, 54 guilds were stuck at 4/8 Mythic.
Resuming to the War Within Race to World First after dinner, Liquid’s first pull of the session led to another heartbreaking wipe at under 0.2%. Instant Dollars also pushed their best pull to 52%, closing the gap with Echo and Method.
World First Broodtwister Ovi’nax on Mythic
And the boss is down! After several heartbreaking low-percent wipes, Liquid finally secured the WoW TWW World First kill on Mythic Broodtwister Ovi’nax. Despite battling amidst server lag, they still managed to achieve victory after 119 pulls thanks to their updated strategy and composition:
Now, Liquid turns their attention to the next challenge: Princess Ky’veza, a boss many guilds have been dreading to confront.
Liquid changed up their TWW World First roster for the Ky’veza fight, prioritizing single-target DPS with Beast Mastery Hunters. They achieved a new best on their fourth pull, bringing Ky’veza down to 75.04%.
Instant Dollars also made strides on Broodtwister, hitting 39.17% after 41 pulls and surpassing both Echo and Method. They focused on gear farming before tackling Mythic content and wrapped up their night with that impressive attempt.
Echo began their day with gear optimization for Broodtwister, following a similar dungeon farming strategy. Liquid continued their work on Ky’veza, reaching 72.04% after 14 pulls and improving to 67.34% after 18 pulls.
September 20: Day 4
Liquid wrapped up their night. Meanwhile, both Echo and Method resumed their Heroic raids. On the Chinese servers, guilds also continued their gear grind. Huoguo Hero entered the fight with Broodtwister.
Animelin:
ZboX are back to Ovi’nax. They have a total ilvl of 622.1, even higher than Liquid!
Broodtwister is merciless to anyone except Liquid. Method had the best pull of 30.07%. So far, it has been the closest to the win, but yet so far away.
Instant Dollars are also close with 39.17% and try to shave percents away little by little.
Echo and Method suddenly got ahead with 23.95% and 28.38% pulls. Are we going to witness another Ovi’nax kill?
Felicie:
After finally triumphing over Ovi’nax, Liquid is now focused on Nexus-Princess Ky’veza. Regarding Echo, the team defeated the worm on their 90th attempt, securing 2nd place on the WoW Race to World First War Within leaderboards. Now, they’re working on Ky’veza and have already made massive progress on the boss, with a new best of 38.59% on their 49th pull!
Huoguo Hero just made a huge leap in their progress on Broodtwister Ovi’nax, reaching 28.26%! This is a massive improvement from their previous best of 40%. They are now over 1% ahead of End Myth and have only done 40 pulls, compared to End Myth’s 183.
Method are still attempting to defeat Broodtwister Ovi’nax, aiming for a World 3rd kill.
After some time, Echo decided to take a break, but we expect they’ll get in a few hours of RWF progress on Ky’veza before wrapping up for the night. Their analysts have been closely watching Liquid’s attempts, so it’ll be interesting to see if they choose a similar lineup or try something different.
It seems like Echo is currently working on Ky’veza, but they’re doing it off-stream. Maybe they’re developing some strategies and want to keep them under wraps before calling it a night so Liquid doesn’t catch on. Hopefully, we’ll see something new when they’re back to the Race World First WoW tomorrow!
Terrazel:
Echo worked privately on Nexus-Princess Ky’veza, reaching 73%, with no further plans to stream at the moment. Liquid had also made steady progress on Ky’veza, reaching 63 pulls with their best at 60% before taking a much-needed break.
On the Broodtwister front, End Myth approached the 200-pull mark, with their best attempt reaching 29%. Method made a significant breakthrough on Broodtwister Ovi’nax, reducing the boss to 6.02% after 99 pulls.
Echo decided to halt their Ky’veza progression for the night, while Method surpassed 100 pulls on Broodtwister, closing in on Liquid’s final pull count with a best at 6%. As for Liquid, after their break, they resumed their Ky’veza attempts, improving to 57%.
Method inched closer to victory on Broodtwister, achieving a new best of 5.7%. Liquid continued progressing, setting a new record by bringing Ky’veza down to 38.2%, handling the intermission phase more effectively.
Blizzard announced upcoming class tuning, expected to impact raid compositions in the following week. You can read the full details in their original post.
FatSharkYes continued their attempts on Broodtwister Ovi’nax, achieving a best pull of 49% after 54 attempts. Over 100 guilds had reached 4/8 bosses, though most were stuck at Broodtwister or Nexus-Princess Ky’veza. Liquid maintained their consistency, bringing Nexus-Princess Ky’veza down to 41%. Method concluded their night’s raid at their usual midnight CET cutoff.
A new contender, Link Curve, began working on Nexus-Princess Ky’veza, getting the boss to 85% after just 3 pulls. Currently:
- 1/8: 166 guilds
- 2/8: 134 guilds
- 3/8: 117 guilds
- 4/8: 105 guilds
- 5/8: 2 guilds
Nexus-Princess Ky’veza nerfed
Blizzard implemented two nerfs to Nexus-Princess Ky’veza, reducing her HP from 8 billion to 7.52 billion and lowering the damage from the Queensbane DoT by 10%. While the HP nerf had a subtle impact, the DoT reduction was expected to have more immediate effects. Following these adjustments, Liquid made progress, bringing Ky’veza down to 40% on their 97th pull and later achieving a new best at 31.7%, though they faced enrage issues with room for optimization.
More guilds, including Instant Dollars and Style, made headway on post-4/8 bosses, with Instant Dollars securing a notable 26% pull on Broodtwister Ovi’nax. Liquid continued progressing on Ky’veza, bringing her health down to 25% and later to 28%, though the enrage mechanic remained a significant hurdle. By the 121st pull, they had surpassed their Broodtwister attempts and were anticipating hitting 200+ pulls on Ky’veza.
TimHortons Alliance started their attempts on Ky’veza, reaching 74% after just three pulls. Meanwhile, Rain, a two-day-a-week guild, began working on Broodtwister after quickly defeating the first four bosses. Liquid made a roster change, swapping a Holy Paladin for a Restoration Shaman and adding a Retribution Paladin to mitigate the 10% Assassinate damage.
As End Myth and ZboX joined the Broodtwister progression, Liquid hit a new best at 21.01% on their 143rd pull, narrowly wiping in the final phase. End Myth reached their 200th pull on Broodtwister but saw no further progress beyond their best attempt at 29.69%. Echo joined the Ky’veza race, adopting a similar strategy to Liquid by incorporating a Restoration Shaman from the outset.
Liquid paused their progression after a long day of pulls and are planning to start later tomorrow, prioritizing rest for their players. They’re confident they will down Nexus-Princess Ky’veza soon. Echo made significant progress on Nexus-Princess Ky’veza, reaching 44.54% boss HP after encountering the enrage for the first time.
Huoguo Hero made a remarkable leap, getting Broodtwister Ovi’nax down to just 1.43%. Method experienced several near kills on Ovi’nax, including a heartbreaking wipe at 0.24%. After 134 pulls, they finally secured the World Third kill on Broodtwister Ovi’nax.
End Myth and ZboX are also progressing, with End Myth achieving a new best of 21.87% on Broodtwister Ovi’nax after more than 200 pulls, while ZboX managed to pull ahead with a 25.73% best attempt.
September 21: Day 5
Huoguo Hero resumed progression after their break, aiming for a World Fourth kill. Echo adjusted their strategy for empowered phantoms in Broodtwister and made multiple roster changes to optimize their composition.
Method began their Ky’veza progression after a successful Ovi’nax kill, reaching 81.32% on their first attempt. Echo had a strong attempt on Ky’veza, hitting 30.31% with only seven players remaining.
Liquid, Echo, and Method engaged in strategy discussions while progressing on Ky’veza. Meanwhile, End Myth reached 10.74% on Broodtwister, and Copium achieved a best pull of 73.39%.
Huoguo Hero secured the World Fourth kill on Broodtwister, marking a record time. Method improved their Ky’veza attempt to 60.47%, while Echo adjusted their roster for additional healing support.
FatSharkYes made notable progress, achieving a best of 42.35% on Broodtwister. As the race continued, Huoguo Hero outpaced their competitors, reaching 70.5% on Ky’veza.
Animelin:
Hopefully, we will see some improvement on Ky’veza’s situation today, as Method just had a very hot pulls on 49.83% and 41.72%. But look!
Liquid absolutely rocks their today’s first pull, bringing Ky’veza to 14.65%! Yesterday, they only managed to achieve 21% which is a huge improvement. Are we going to witness a desired victory soon?
Back to Ovi’nax, FatSharkYes is now at 27.73% while only having half of Instant Dollars pulls (75 pulls).
Liquid continues conquering Ky’veza, reaching 8.29%. Seems like the last push is needed.
FatSharkYes is almost done with Broodtwister at 24.81%.
Liquid is now 7.80% away from overcoming Ky’veza. We hope to see her defeat soon!
Currently:
- 5 guilds on 5/8
- 115 guilds on 4/8
125 guilds on 3/8 - 137 guilds on 2/8
- Total: 555 1≥/8
For now, Echo can’t bypass 20.05% on Ky’veza and is up to M+ splits for gear improvement. We see a lot of splits during this Race to World First.
Liquid is improving its score on Ky’veza. It seems like splits are not an option for them, and they are going to try until they are successful. 5.68% is the best pull so far. 199 pulls in. Is 200 a charm?
Liquid is 3.25% from Ky’veza kill. It’s getting hot.
Finally, Instant Dollars take NA 2nd and World 5th Broodtwister. Impressive!
September 22, Day 6
Pull 285: End Myth achieved 6.33% on Ovi’nax. They really want World 6th kill on this boss.
Liquid is on its 262 pull, 13 hours into the battle with Princess Ky’veza. This is intense, and we admire their simplification. But it’s enough for this night. They will continue RWF Nerb’ar Palace as soon as they gain strength once again.
Method is now 77 pulls on Ky’veza, with 29% being the best so far.
ZboX break the 10% mark on Broodtwisrter. 7.47% were reached during 199 pulls.
Echo is 2 hours in on Ky’veza. They are thinking about comp changes, and we are waiting to see some improvement afterward. Race to World First 2024 turns out to be very demanding in terms of comp strategy.
Method is 17.2% away from defeating Ky’veza. But it is time for a lunch break. With renewed strength, we hope to see them back soon.
Echo and Method are back to splits. It’s heartbreaking, to be honest, but we can’t wait for them to try again soon. Let them cook!
Felicie:
ZboX has finally done it, surpassing End Myth, who have now suffered six wipes with the boss below 1% health. ZboX is now the sixth guild in the world to conquer Ovi’nax!
Echo have returned to Ky’veza, and after some early challenges today, they’ve made steady progress. Over the last two hours, they’ve consistently brought the boss below 40%. If they keep up this pace, they should soon reach the final phase with more players alive and get a better sense of how tough the DPS check will be.
After 321 attempts, End Myth finally conquered Broodtwister Ovi’nax, securing the World 7th kill, right after ZboX claimed the 6th spot. Congrats to them!
FatSharkYes and Jitianhong have defeated Broodtwister and are now moving on to Ky’veza! This brings the total to 9 guilds in the 5/9 Mythic club, all progressing on Nexus-Princess.
Method had an impressive 7.69% pull on Ky’veza, putting them ahead of Echo!
While Echo was on their dinner break, Alex sat with Justwait to discuss the WoW RWF TWW. He mentioned he didn’t expect Broodtwister and Ky’veza to be this tough. He also predicts that the Silken Court will be more about execution after Ky’veza’s intense DPS check. Alex still believes 7/8 Mythic kills in this reset are possible and mentioned how organizing “Heroic Week” with 16 characters is a lot of work. He’s glad it’s happening this tier due to the new expansion but relieved it won’t return to the next tier. He thinks Ky’veza will be defeated today but expects Echo to get the kill early tomorrow.
Echo has been catching up to Liquid, but Method has also made impressive progress based on their number of pulls today. Right now, we’re all eagerly waiting to see if Echo or Liquid can manage a clean attempt, using the risky 1-tank strategy, to beat the enrage timer and claim the world first kill.
Max mentioned that Liquid plans to take on the first four Mythic bosses in Nerub-ar Palace tomorrow after the daily reset, but only if they don’t defeat Ky’veza, Silken Court, and Queen Ansurek today. As for Echo, they were close to Liquid in the TWW RWF to beat Ky’veza but decided to stop for the day.
Terrazel:
Liquid came agonizingly close to defeating Nexus-Princess Ky’veza with a 0.73% wipe, followed by a game crash, leaving the kill expected soon. There are some rumors of a hotfix for Ky’veza.
Echo and Huoguo Hero paused their progress, narrowing the race to Liquid and Method. Method achieved a best pull of 5.45%, keeping the competition tight. Liquid continued to perform consistently, with another close attempt at 2%.
Multiple guilds, including Vertigo, Mahina, Gravity, End Myth, and Huoguo Hero, were still progressing as the night went on. Liquid reached their 301st pull, nearing Halondrus’ infamous pull count. FatSharkYes also made notable progress, reducing Ky’veza’s health to 50%.
Nexus-Princess Ky’veza World First on Mythic
After 15 hours and 304 pulls, Liquid finally secured the World First kill on Ky’veza, utilizing a one-tank and Vantus Rune strategy. The kill had been anticipated since Liquid’s 0.6% wipe, with the team managing to secure it before another nerf.
Here’s the full kill video:
Method had another strong attempt on Ky’veza, reaching sub-10% but ending the raid with a 5% best. Liquid started work on the Silken Court, a complex encounter, but progress was slow with half the raid dead in one attempt. Liquid shifted focus to Mythic+ runs to gear up while planning their strategy for Silken Court.
Instant Dollars made progress on Ky’veza, achieving a best of 67%. Liquid continued pulling Silken Court off-stream, experimenting with new strategies.
As the race progressed, Instant Dollars hit 33%, edging closer to Huoguo Hero’s progress. Liquid confirmed Trill would miss the next raid reset due to his Arena World Championship involvement. End Myth resumed Ky’veza pulls, aiming to improve on their 67% best.
Pull counts saw Echo leading with 241, followed by Method at 184, and Huoguo Hero at 163. Echo pushed Ky’veza to a new best of 2.68% on their 246th pull, and eventually secured the World 2nd kill after 256 pulls. Huoguo Hero made progress on Ky’veza, reaching 13.83% and then 8.46%, bringing them closer to a potential kill.
Echo moved on to the Silken Court, analyzing strategies for the next phase of the race.
Method achieved a close 1.28% pull on Ky’veza, nearly securing World Third but still struggling to finish the encounter.
Echo had a 7-minute pull on Silken Court, not their best, but their Blood DK tank survived alone for a significant duration, allowing the rest of the raid to observe mechanics. In their strategy, Echo fought with only half the raid, as all players took the same color of marks. This eliminated the need to soak Motes, making the fight resemble Heroic mode, with only Mythic mechanics like Charge and Cataclysmic Entropy in play.
Meanwhile, ZboX made progress on Ky’veza, achieving a new best of 46.8%.
September 23: Day 7
Animelin:
Huoguo Hero just had two impressive pulls, reaching 15% on Ky’veza.
It is pleasant to see somewhat of an RWF progress during this day. But it looks like Huoguo Hero, Echo, and Method are going for their lunch break. We hope to see them soon.
Meanwhile, Broodtwister Ovi’nax still does not give in to most of the guilds:
- xD are sitting with the best pull of 38.34%.
- Reversion are a bit closer, having the best pull of 33.73%.
- Honestly and Ethical, top OCE guilds, are sitting on 28.09% and 27.99%.
- Synergy reached 26.62%
- And LAGET are the closest to Ovi’nax kill, as they broke 26.37% mark
As Echo and Method are <100 pulls in on Silken Court, their composition undergoes changes again. We saw plenty of different compositions during this Mythic race to World First, and it seems like it is not the end.
Echo is improving its pulls, getting Silken Court down to 68.94%. This is the best result among all guilds so far.
Method is slightly behind, as Silken Court resists going below 78.08%.
Huoguo Hero reach another best pull on Ky’veza. They managed to bring her to 3.06%.
Felicie:
Echo and Method have made great progress on the Silken Court, and we’re excited to see how the Mythic race to World First 2024 plays out today with Liquid returning to the action.
As Echo and Method continue their progress on the Silken Court, both guilds have about the same average item level as they did yesterday on Nexus-Princess Ky’veza. However, Method defeated the princess in 18 fewer pulls than Echo. Today, Echo has nearly twice as many pulls on the Silken Court as Method, so we expect them to take a solid lead.
Banhammer has achieved the world’s 10th Ovi’nax kill! They are the first Russian guild to reach 5/8 Mythic Nerub’ar Palace progress and the 4th in the EU to do so.
Echo is still in the lead with 50.6%, but Liquid could close the gap soon, as Echo is only 15 pulls ahead on the Silken Court. Liquid started strong today, improving by 7.2% in their first two attempts (going from 82.6% to 75.4% compared to yesterday). With that momentum, Echo’s lead might not last long, so we’ll have to wait and see.
Huoguo Hero just made a big move with a 1.73% pull on Ky’veza! We’re really close to having four guilds back in the TWW World First race.
After reaching a new best of 53.4% on the Silken Court, Echo has decided to call it a night and rest. Meanwhile, Method is still pushing, but they trail Liquid by 6.9% and Echo by 16.9%. It’ll be interesting to see how much they can close the gap and catch up to Echo in pull count before they also turn in for the night.
Terrazel:
Echo began ending their days earlier. Liquid made significant progress, achieving a new best pull with both bosses at 50% HP in the final phase. Their 6.5-minute pull sparked discussions about potential nerfs, though none were expected until after the upcoming reset.
Liquid continued experimenting with raid compositions, swapping a Retribution Paladin for an Affliction Warlock and alternating between Fury and Arms Warriors, searching for the optimal setup.
Other guilds like FatSharkYes, Banhammer, Oh Crit, and Фрактал also made progress on Ky’veza.
Blizzard implemented hotfixes on Silken Court to encourage two-tank strategies:
- Piercing Strike damage increased by 150% (to 23 million)
- Piercing Strike duration lasts 36 seconds (was 60 seconds)
- Piercing Strike increases damage taken from the ability by 1,000% (was 100%)
Liquid resumed progress on Silken Court after hotfixes, experimenting with new class and tank compositions. Their early attempts saw steady improvement, achieving a 52.3% best pull and later reducing the boss’s health to 43.82% as they adapted to the 2-tank strategy.
Method called it a night with a 59% best pull, keeping the top guilds closely matched. As the evening progressed, Liquid continued refining their approach, reaching a new best at 35.76%. The NA guild analyzed their enrage timings and optimized their DPS, making significant headway as the other top guilds rested.
Later, Liquid discovered a softer enrage mechanic, achieving a huge best pull at 14.09%. The discussion turned toward the possibility of killing Silken Court by the end of the day.
Meanwhile, Instant Dollars made progress on Ky’veza, reaching a best of 33%. Other guilds like Envelop and TimHortons resumed their pulls. Liquid faced decisions on whether to continue Silken Court pulls or clear Mythic bosses before the reset, ultimately opting for deeper Phase 3 pulls, achieving a best of under 10%.
Huoguo Hero was expected to kill Ky’veza soon, as Instant Dollars closed their night with a 26.73% best. As the night wrapped up, Liquid took a break before resuming Silken Court attempts, hoping to secure the kill before the reset.
The Chinese guild Huoguo Hero resumed pulling Nexus-Princess Ky’veza, coming close to a World 4th kill with a 4.36% wipe. Liquid’s Max expressed concerns about their progress, hinting they might stop for the night if things didn’t improve. However, Liquid pushed on and nearly reached the final phase, bringing the boss down to below 20%.
Method started their raid, while Echo delayed their usual start. Echo and Method were progressing, with Liquid showing consistency by reaching Phase 3 three times in six pulls.
Huoguo Hero had a heartbreaking 0.47% wipe after over 300 pulls on Ky’veza.
World First Silken Court on Mythic
Oops, Liquid did it again! They secured another World First, this time on Silken Court after 171 pulls. They secured another World First, this time on Silken Court after 171 pulls. This impressive performance comes amid challenges, including the controversy surrounding raider Imfiredup, who was caught using an exploit during WoW RWF War Within. Here’s the kill clip of the Silken Court, which means, only Queen Ansurek is left standing:
Echo focused on farming Mythic+ dungeons while Method began their raid pulls, struggling to replicate their previous day’s success but with the whole day to catch up to Liquid.
Huoguo Hero faced another near wipe at approximately 5% on Ky’veza, persisting in their challenges against the Nexus-Princess. Not long after, Huoguo Hero experienced another heartbreaking close pull, raising anticipation for their expected kill.

Echo was close to reaching the burn phase in this attempt, but like Method’s last attempt, a messy dispel caused a wipe. If they can clean up this issue, they’ll be on a clear path to secure World 2nd!
After Liquid secured the first, Echo claimed the world’s second Silken Court kill. With 18 players still standing, they entered the final phase, delivered a massive burst of damage, and took down the boss!
Echo has officially taken the lead in the Nerub’ar Palace Race to World First TWW with a 77.88% attempt on Queen Ansurek!
End Myth hit 300 attempts on Ky’veza, but they’ve brought her down to 27.25%. They were stuck around 42% for over 100 tries, so it’s great to see them break through that barrier and make solid progress on several pulls since.
Huoguo Hero reached a new best of 73.59% on the Silken Court after 50 pulls. They’ve been steadily progressing on this boss, and we’re excited to see if they can get the kill before their next reset.
It seems Echo has been working on Queen Ansurek off-stream, or at least that’s what we think. We’re excited to see how far they get once they’re back online. They mentioned heading to bed early tonight to be well-rested for the early EU reset so they can jump right in.
Huoguo Hero has pushed the Silken Court even further, reaching a new best of 68.77%! When you compare their number of attempts to Liquid’s, they’re slightly ahead of the NA guild that got the WoW race World First kill!

Echo prepared for their re-clear, focusing on gearing up and farming BoEs, while Method rested after their late-night push.

Method pulled an all-nighter to secure a kill on The Silken Court, finally defeating this notorious boss. The race for the #5 Ky’veza kill continued, with FatSharkYes and ZboX making strong progress, pulling the boss below 20%.
Huoguo Hero reached 52.3% on Silken Court, keeping them in contention for a key kill before their raid time ended. Echo cleared up to Rasha’nan, focusing on loot farming for BoEs before pushing further Mythic bosses.
September 25: Day 9
Animelin:
Echo was back to splits and wanted to upgrade their gear a bit more. But it is time to take a lunch break for the IRL food buff. Staying full and hydrated is very important during any WoW Mythic race.

Felicie:
Like Liquid yesterday, Echo had a low-percent wipe due to some early player deaths. If they reach her again in the next pull, they could secure the World Sixth kill on Ky’veza!
Echo is now focusing on Mythic reclears on Ky’veza after perfecting their dodge skills. Method is close behind, working on a Broodtwister rekill. Meanwhile, Huoguo Hero set a new best on the Silken Court with 25.77%.

Liquid set a new record on Queen Ansurek with a small lead (63.58%). It looks like they may have discovered a new strategy!
Echo is still working on their re-kill of Ky’veza. They’re now on their 30th attempt this reset, so fingers crossed they get it soon and move on to the Silken Court! It would be awesome if they could make some progress on Queen Ansurek before wrapping up for the night.
Echo scored a rekill on Ky’veza just before moving on to Queen Ansurek. It took them 40 tries, making it a challenging fight, but the final kill was perfect. Now that both Echo and Liquid have wrapped up their weekly chores, the top two guilds are going head-to-head against Queen Ansurek.
Terrazel:
Echo and Liquid both progressed on Queen Ansurek, with Liquid reaching 64.9% and Echo achieving a best pull of 66.9%. Liquid hit 110 pulls and continued optimizing their raid composition and spec choices for better platform performance, though they still didn’t consistently reach phase 3. Instant Dollars made significant progress on Ky’veza, achieving a best attempt of 9.24% after 176 pulls before calling it a night.

WoW Race to World First FAQ
What is RWF in WoW?
Race to World First (RWF) is a community-driven event where the top guilds worldwide compete to be the first one to clear the latest raid on Mythic.
Who won the last Race to World First in WoW?
The last race to World First took place in Amirdrassil, the Dream’s Hope. Echo was the winner.
What are “splits” in WoW RWF?
“Splits” are organized runs where guilds use multiple raid groups to farm gear from lower difficulties. The goal is to give the best gear to core raiders, maximizing their power for progression in the main raid. This strategy helps give top guilds an edge in the competition.
Splits often require immense resources and contributions from numerous players. Top guilds even have dedicated assistants to help with these splits. Handling the exchange of valuable items, gear, and pooling resources, the assistants’ efforts can be worth millions in gold. That was why, following the Amirdrassil RWF, guilds like Echo, Liquid, and Method offered boosting services for Amirdrassil completion in exchange for gold, allowing them to repay the invaluable assistance they received during the race.
