What are Ritual Sites in Midnight

Ritual Sites are newly introduced in Midnight patch 12.0.5 instanced scenarios found in Eversong Woods and Zul’Aman. They work similarly to Delves, but offer more depth and player control. Only one Ritual Site is active each week. To enter, interact with the active Curious Obelisk, either solo or in a group of up to five players. From there, you can select your Tier and, if available, add Challenges. In a group, the leader handles these settings.
Curious Obelisks act as the entry point for Ritual Sites. You’ll find them at the currently active location in either Eversong Woods or Zul’Aman. This is where you set your difficulty, enable Challenges, and start the run. Each run includes objectives, a final boss, and a Ritual Chest at the end.
Enemies inside Ritual Sites drop Spoils. The more you collect during the run, the better your final rewards from the Ritual Chest. Deaths reduce your total Spoils. The first two deaths have no penalty, but every death after that reduces your final Spoils by 5%, up to a maximum of 50%.
Once all objectives are complete, you can open the Ritual Chest. It contains Field Accolades, Coffer Key Shards, Voidlight Marl, and Dawncrests. Field Accolades are awarded at roughly a 1:10 ratio to Spoils, rounded down. For example, 330 Spoils gives 32 Field Accolades, while 507 Spoils gives 50.
Note
Dawncrest rewards depend on the Tier. Tiers 1–3 grant 5, 10, and 15 Champion Dawncrests. Tiers 4–5 instead reward 10 and 15 Hero Dawncrests.
Ritual Sites challenges
Challenges act like Mythic+ affixes, increasing difficulty in exchange for better rewards. However, you choose which ones to activate, similar to Horrific Visions. Challenges unlock at Tier 3, and higher Tiers require a minimum number of active Challenges:
- Tier 3: at least 1 Challenge
- Tier 4: at least 2 Challenges
- Tier 5: at least 4 Challenges
You can also select all Challenges if you wish for maximum Spoil modifier.
