Blizzard has announced that it’ll bring back some of the most iconic gear sets from past raids and dungeons in future Dragonflight updates. It’s a welcome surprise to the game’s many fans, who have longed to obtain rare and highly desired loot for years.

The MMORPG title has spanned by almost two decades of existence. Its raids and dungeons have undergone numerous alterations. Thus, many memorable and sought-after pieces of equipment offered by said locations are now unobtainable. However, with the incoming updates, WoW players will once again have the chance to earn these items.

Answering MrGM during the EU Content Creator Q&A, Ion Hazzikostas confirmed the return of old pieces. Once exclusive and rare, now, they’ll become obtainable again. Nonetheless, he stated that certain ones won’t be making a comeback. While there wasn’t a list to go by, he did make it clear that the Corrupted Ashbringer is one of them.

While it’s undoubtedly a sad note, the community won’t be dwelling on it for too long. As the reintroduction of these transmog has already begun with Dragonflight Patch 10.0.7. With professions, players now have the ability to craft gear with identical appearances to those found in the original Zul’Gurub raid.

Blizzard has yet to release concrete details on how said items will return. But based on the Zul’Gurub case, they may be made through crafted recipes or bought from the Trading Post.
