Dragonflight Patch 10.1: First Glimpse at the Zaralek Cavern

While there has yet to be a Patch 10.1 release date, players are exploring what Dragonflight has to offer on the PTR. From the cross-faction guilds to the mole-like folk Niffen, new mounts, and all 13 incoming Tier Sets. Among them, the most anticipated feature is undoubtedly the Zaralek Cavern.

Zaralek Cavern is the latest zone to be introduced in Embers of Neltharion. Nestled beneath the Dragon Isles, the new location is where players will spend most of their time exploring in the upcoming Patch. It’s a vast and mysterious cave system that was once Neltharion’s laboratory. Here, he conducted grotesque experiments and communicated with the Old Gods for the first time. And thus, it was the stepping stone to his corruption of becoming the monstrous Deathwing.

Zaralek Cavern is divided into three unique biomes, each with its own distinct features. The first is the crystalline caverns, characterized by towering stalagmites and stalactites that create a dazzling and awe-inspiring environment. The second is the sulfur pools, once used as a disposal spot for Neltharion’s failed experiments, now are the Niffen’s favorite place due to their odor. The jagged peaks and scorching lavafalls create a treacherous landscape of volcanic floes that perfectly reflects the home of the Djaradin Elders.
