The community is thrilled that Season 2 will be coming to live servers soon. Blizzard shared many details about the new content awaiting us in the upcoming patch. If you want to learn more about it, read our patch 11.1 overview. Remember that on the WoW 2025 roadmap, Blizzard mentioned that the release of patch 11.1 would be in early 2025. However, the developers haven’t announced the exact date yet.
Time flies, and players want to know more about the Season 2 release date, so we decided to do some math and try to predict the potential 11.1 release date based on the knowledge we have. Without further ado, let’s dive into this topic.

Potential patch 11.1 release date
11.1 PTR servers are already available for the community to test since January 7. This means that much polishing of the upcoming content has already been done. Blizzard lets players test many aspects and changes to the game during the PTR testing. Dungeons, bosses, Mythic Plus, talents, etc. People have highly tested everything that could potentially need work. This means patch 11.1 and TWW Season 2 will likely be ready for live servers soon.
The potential TWW patch 11.1 release date can be found based on the schedule of the remaining events. Blizzard always tries to release a new patch every eight to ten weeks. There is always one major and two following medium patches. 11.0.7 Siren Isle patch was released on December 17. This knowledge brings us to two potential weeks when the patch 11.1 release date can be from February 11 to February 25.
However, some important events like Plunderstorm and Turbulent Timeways are surely planned to be finished by the patch 11.1 release date. Otherwise, players would have to choose what activity to attain during this layering of events. Since both Plunderstorm and Turbulent Timeways are still running, we have to predict the patch 11.1 release date within the abovementioned time gates:
- Turbulent Timeways will last until February 25.
- Plunderstorm will last until February 18. However, it was initially planned to start on January 21 and last till February 24.
With a whole week left between the ends of these two main events, we have two potential patch 11.1 release dates: February 18 and February 25. Even though the Turbulent Timeways event will still be running in the first case, this is not an impossible turn of events.
