Moments ago, Destiny 2 released a four-minute video named “Darkness Unveiled.” The developer revealed insights into Lightfall’s cast of villains. If you have yet the time to view the video, we have compiled all the highlights below for your convenience.

CALUS

• Calus presents an intriguing adversary, with multifaceted aspects of his character for the Guardians to explore.
• Calus is determined to achieve a life of luxury and indulgence. He believes forging an alliance with the Witness is the best way to attain it.
• Due to the Witness’s influence, Calus has undergone a transformation in Lightfall, emerging as something new while still retaining recognizable traits. His inflated ego and over-the-top personality continue to be his defining characteristics.
• Calus remains a formidable opponent of Lightfall. However, to halt the Witness’s plans, Calus must be neutralized.
• Fans are speculating that there is a high chance he will betray the Witness. After all, the developers themselves said:

“Calus is doing the Witness’ bidding. We don’t know if his motivations line up with those of the Witness, but we know right now, they’re working together, and that creates a huge problem for us.”

THE WITNESS

• Initially, the Darkness was thought to be the main adversary of the Guardians. However, as it turns out, our heroes are to face an entity that wields the Darkness. The Witness.
• Existing beyond the confines of the universe, the Witness derives no pleasure from life and possesses an unsettling array of abilities. Its longevity and persistence in achieving its goals have rendered obstacles inconsequential.
• The Witness’s motivations remain unknown, but its actions are detrimental to our solar system and the universe.
• The arrival of the Witness has long been anticipated. With the Black Fleet’s presence and tensions escalating, Guardians will have to rise to the challenge and confront the most formidable adversary in the Destiny universe.
