Fans Petition to Have Destiny 2 on Steam Deck

Steam Deck has quickly gained popularity due to its versatility and convenience. Yet, Bungie still refuses to have Destiny 2 on said platform. Thus, a group of dedicated players have banded together and started a Change.org petition hoping to change the developers’ minds.

Despite Valve’s popular handheld PC, Bungie doesn’t want to support the game on the system. It’s not that there is some unresolved conflict between the two parties. The studio is just simply uninterested. It stated concerns about cheating, game integrity, and players’ personal information. However, the handheld PC has been equipped with BattlEye anti-cheat software from the outset. Furthermore, Bungie already has a Linux port of Destiny 2 that runs well on Google’s Linux-based Stadia cloud gaming service. Thus, there is no known reason why the FSP title developers are still saying no.

The petitioners are calling on the developers to reconsider their stance, especially when more and more players are keen to continue their adventures on the go. But the company has yet to respond. However, it’s well-known that it is strict when playing Destiny 2 on Steam Deck. The studio has even gone as far as giving out the notion of banning users from playing the title on said platform.
