Destiny 2 Season of the Witch: Exotic Focusing Costs Adjusted

Bungie’s Economy team is making adjustments to the game’s Exotic focusing costs. They want to ensure that in-game currency requirements for top-tier gear remain fair and achievable for all.

The primary challenge is finding the sweet spot catering to both casual and highly engaged players. Setting the price too high would render these coveted items out of reach for casual players. Meanwhile, having it too low could potentially diminish their value and allure.

To bridge this gap, Bungie has studied player feedback and data. Based on what they have learned, they try to determine how players earn and utilize in-game resources. The analysis revealed that most players were not accumulating more than a few Ascendant Shards weekly. So, changing the prices is a must.

Starting October 17, 2023, the studio is implementing revised Exotic focusing prices. Notably, Tier-2 focusing will no longer need any Exotic Cipher. Furthermore, Ascendant Shard costs for both tiers are reduced.
