Destiny 2 Xur — Where Is He

For all Guardians in need to find out where Xur is right now, how long he’ll be live, and what items are available for purchase, we’ve created this ultimate Xur tracker to address all your burning questions and make your experience with Destiny’s most mysterious vendor a lot easier and much more pleasant.

At the top of the page, you can see exactly where to find Xur this week and how long he’ll stay on the spot. In case it’s already his off-hours, the timer will show when Xur will be back, and once he arrives, we’ll instantly update all the info with all Exotics and gear.

For those looking for an insight on how to find Xur, there are video guides and detailed maps of his spawn locations. There’s also a full-on section where you can find everything Xur’s selling today or was selling when he last performed his vending duties. If you’re looking for information about Xur Destiny 2, you’ve come to the right place. Below, you’ll find a comprehensive guide that covers all the crucial details, including where is Xur. And if you have any questions, be sure to check out the FAQs section for further clarity.

Where is Xur's Location?

You need to look at the location's name and find him on the correct planet to find where is Xur this week. After that, we suggest looking at the map or video to know exactly how to find Xur's Location. So you definitely won't miss him and won't waste a lot of time to get desired Exotic weapon.

At What Time Does Xur Appears?

Xur's arrival is slated for next Friday, 10 a.m. PDT (12 p.m. EST / 5 p.m. GMT) every week.

When Does Xur Leave?

The vendor's shift goes from Friday to Tuesday, having him stick around in Destiny for the weekend until reset. Xur leaves his current place once the weekly reset hits on Tuesday at 10 a.m. PDT (12 p.m. EST / 5 p.m. GMT).

What Does Xur Have in Destiny 2 Today?

Every week Xur has Exotic and Legendary Weapons, Exotic and Legendary Armor, Exotic Engram, and a couple of specific weapons, like Hawkmoon Exotic Hand Cannon. Once a week, you can visit him to either take the quest for an Exotic Cipher or spend it to purchase random Exotic items a second time. He used to bring Dead Man's Tale, but since Season 22, you can only obtain it in a special mission. We recommend checking armor pieces and weapons every time, as the stats and rolls for them change every week as well.

You can check all the Exotics and Legendary items that Xur today has with his exact location in the video above.

Hawkmoon Perk This Week

This week, Xur brought us the Quickdraw perk, which you can skip this week.

What Legendary Weapons I should Get from Xur?

This week you can get Ikelos Sniper Rifle to use it with Deepsight Harmonizer and craft it.

How Much Does It Cost to Buy from Xur?

Legendary Weapons usually cost around 50 Legendary Shards and 1000 Glimmer, which is incredibly cheap and noble for a messenger. This Week's Exotic weapons costs 29 Legendary Shards, while he likes selling Hawkmoon in about 125k glimmer, 200 legendary Shards, one Exotic Cipher, and one Ascendant Shard. The cheapest items are Exotic Armor pieces, which costs 23 Legendary Shards. In contrast, other Armor rarity costs the same as Legendary Weapons. These prices are not changing after Destiny 2 Xur reset, so you can safely save up for what you need.

Xur Not Appearing in Destiny 2?

If you are already in front of a vendor and want to know what Xur selling, then this is bad news for you. Xur doesn't appear immediately on the location, as it was before. If you are already at the place of his appearance, you must fly away and fly back to the planet. After that, it usually appears, but some players have reported problems that Xur appears only after a few attempts. Also, try connecting to players who are already with him.

How Do I get Exotic Cipher Quest from Xur?

As we said above, you can complete one Xenology Quest for one Exotic Cipher from Xur every week for free. The conditions to achieve it are pretty simple because you must finish ritual activities: Vanguard missions or win Crucible and Gambit matches. Once you're done, return to your friend for a gift, remembering to see what Xur selling. And yeah, in Destiny 2 Xur is not giving Cipher quest if you complete it this week.

Meet Xur, Agent of the Nine

To better understand who Destiny 2’s Xur is and how he came to be, you first need to learn about the Nine.

The Nine are primordial gods from the Unknown Space who are unable to interact with our universe but still keep watching it from afar. They are powerful just as much as they are vulnerable: dependent on our worlds, they are, in fact, matter, so if our worlds cease to exist, so will the Nine. They cannot enter our plane of existence – only communicate with us, but never actually affect or inhabit the physical realm – so their primary goal has always been to gain corporeal embodiment and enter our world.

Their first attempt to do so is tied to the Ahamkara – wish-granting draconic creatures that the Nine tried to use to transform themselves into flesh. Later, the wish-dragons were hunted down to near extinction, so the Nine were pushed to find other ways to execute their plan. That’s when Xur was created as the Agent of the Nine.

The Nine believed that the Traveler’s Light was the only thing left that could help them access our physical realm. With two opposing factions having arisen within the Nine, each now pursues its own goal. One part of the Nine even assisted Ghaul in his invasion; the other is responsible for creating Xur and sending him to the Tower Hangar as their loyal Agent to help the Guardians. That’s why Xur sells various items, like legendary weapons for 50 legendary shards.

The purpose of Xur’s existence is to study the Light and Guardians, assisting and protecting them as much as he can. For this reason, all Xur locations are the same so that we can easily find and remember it. A Jovian by origin, our cloaky buddy serves the Nine, claiming to have no will of his own. Crippled by Orin when her investigation of Sjur Eido’s death led her to the Nine, Xur was left with a hunch and a limp as the result of his spine having been broken by a war hammer. Always dressed in a hooded cloak, mysterious merchant has glowing yellow eyes and what looks like tendrils or tiny tentacles where his face should be, but no one has actually seen him with the hood off, so his true appearance still remains a mystery like Xur’s loot this week.

Xur, the Wandering Merchant

According to the lore, Xur in Destiny 2 comes and goes following planetary alignments, so he’s not always in the game, teleporting to one of his usual locations only when the time is ripe.

Friday to Tuesday, when Xur is available, he brings along “the gifts of the Nine” – a whole bunch of goodies for you to choose from, like high-stat armor or good old exotics. Having debuted in Destiny, he primarily dealt Exotic items and accepted Strange Coins as currency. Does Xur still sell Exotics in Destiny 2? Yes, he does! Xur consistently sells Exotic and Legendary armor and weapons with random rolls from now on. The main currencies you need are Legendary Shards and Glimmer. Still, some of his exotic wares require spending Ascendant Shard and Exotic Cypher as well.

Keep in mind that Xur’s locations and items change weekly, meaning he always comes back to a new place with new items in his bag. Most of his offerings are pretty decent, but you never know what stats they’re gonna have, which makes our Jovian friend even more popular with Guardians. If you check on Xur god rolls this week, and nothing looks worth spending your resources on, just come back next weekend and try your luck with the refreshed roster. This is the beauty of vendors’ RNG-based inventory, right?

Destiny Xur Location: All Vendor Places

A rolling stone of a vendor, Destiny 2 Xur location always changes and he shows up all over the map, but his usual spawns can be narrowed down to the following spots:

Back in the pre-Beyond Light days, our favorite vendor used to sell his goodies on Titan and IO as well, but the planets entered the DCV and have been indefinitely off-limits ever since, so for now, we’re down to only three Destiny 2 Xur spawn locations. However, Bungie never intended for this to be permanent and planned right from the start to bring the vaulted content back to the game little by little. Lots of retired activities and items have already returned, so there’s a good chance we’ll see him in his older favorite spots again someday. Maybe even next season, he’ll appear in a new location, who knows?

To find out where is Xur today, check in with our tracker.
