Destiny 2 Lightfall Raid Release: Start Date and Details
Three days to go until Destiny 2 Lightfall officially launches. This means the raid release is just around the corner. Thus, here comes everything you need to know about its start date, details, Contest Mode, and World First race.
WHEN IS THE DESTINY 2 LIGHTFALL RAID RELEASE DATE?
It will be released on Friday, March 10, at 9:00 AM (PST). You will have more than a week to explore and get acquainted with what the expansion has to offer. It includes new weapons, armor, and the latest Destiny 2 Strand subclass.
CONTEST MODE
Contest Mode is Bungie’s strategy to create an equal gaming field for everyone. It restricts players to 20 lower power levels in comparison to that suggested to complete the raid. It also prohibits high-DPS weapons. The difficulty of the challenges is thus increased, attracting the best players to attempt completion on day one.
The Contest Mode lasts for 48 hours. After said time, you can play as usual without restrictions.
WORLD FIRST
Destiny 2’s World First competitions are a thrilling spectacle drawing in fans and players alike. Fireteams battle it out during Contest Mode to be the first to conquer the game’s latest raid. The winning team will be rewarded with a one-of-a-kind raid belt to show off their triumph.
Fans can tune in to watch the intense action unfold on players’ YouTube and Twitch channels. But brace yourself for a long haul. These races can take up to ten hours or more as players face formidable foes and navigate intricate puzzle mechanics.
WHAT ARE THE DETAILS OF THE DESTINY 2 LIGHTFALL RAID?
Bungie has officially announced the raid to be a six-player one. Root of Nightmares requires Guardians to board the Witness’s terraformed Pyramid ship and confront an ancient threat. In a massive leak right before Lightfall release, dataminers have confirmed the raid boss to be Nezarec.
The official Lightfall website for the game provides a few hints about the upcoming raid. Apparently, players must confront an ancient threat that has been detected. Some speculate the raid will take place inside the Traveler itself. However, Bungie has not confirmed this.
