How Do You Change the Appearance of a Warlock Pet

Dragonflight’s Patch 10.1.5 added numerous skins for WoW Warlock pets, allowing you to transform your little demons into various new forms. To change your pet’s appearance, simply head to the Barbershop when playing your Warlock. There, in the UI, you will see all available looks that you can preview and equip.

While a good part of the Warlock demon customization roster is already there for you to use, the most interesting looks are still locked behind quests, raids, dungeons, crafts, and purchases. The good news is that all pet skins are account-wide, so unlocking a look once allows you to use it on all your characters.

All Dragonflight Warlock Pet Customizations

The devs at Blizzard Entertainment have gone the extra mile to provide you with a rich array of stunning skins for your pet. The recent Patch 10.2.5 has added even more options for those who love to flaunt their WoW Warlock demons in new and cool looks. We’ll walk you through each pet and tell you how to add each of the available custom looks to your collection.

Note: Many items needed for obtaining the custom looks drop from the Legion content. If you’re new to the expansion, you might have to complete several quest chains before embarking on the hunt for those new skins.

Eredathian Darkglare

How to get: Zuraal the Ascended, the dungeon’s first boss, drops the skin upon defeat. To get there, teleport to Shadowguard Incursion in Mac’Aree, then head left and proceed all the way through Triad’s Conservatory until you reach the entrance.

Riftsmolder Darkglare

How to get: The skin comes as a reward from Viz’aduum the Watcher, the dungeon’s last boss. 

Both the Legion dungeon and the original raid are set in the Karazhan castle in Deadwind Pass. However, the dungeon entrance is not in the same location where you typically enter to start the raid. To access the dungeon, you need to fly to the bridge on the east side of the castle and enter through the metal gate.

Xorothian Darkglare

How to get: This skin can be acquired by defeating Portal Keeper Hasabel.

To reach Antorus, teleport to Light’s Purchase in Antoran Wastes. Head northwest past all the mobs and turn right at the end when you see a green portal. Then, head down to the lava and proceed to the left, using the rocks to jump over the lava pools.

Abyssal Darkglare

How to get: To acquire this look, you’ll need to face off against Mistress Sassz’ine. 

The raid is based in the north of Broken Shore. The fastest way is to fly to Vengeance Point. Once there, head south across the bridge towards Broken Valley. At the end of the road, at the junction near the fel lava pool, turn left and continue forward.

Mana-Gorged Observer

How to get: To get this skin, you have to locate the Carved Eye and click on it. The object is placed behind the door in the Nightbane’s room of the non-instanced Karazhan [43.8, 72.8]. 

Whispering Observer

How to get: To obtain this look, we once again need the Carved Eye. This time, the object is hidden in the non-instanced Ahn’Qiraj in Silithus [43.0, 9.2]. You need to find the rubble, located to the right of the platform leading to Prophet Skeram in the raid. If the Eye did not appear in the specified location, it may be due to the wrong Silithus phase. The issue is solved by talking to Zidormi.

Plagued Observer

How to get: This skin comes from the Eye located on a tree near the place where you enter the Stratholme dungeon in Eastern Plaguelands [28.6, 13.5].

Dire Observer

How to get: The required object is located in Dire Maul in Feralas [61.5, 30.6]. You will need to descend into the rooms below Maul Arena. There, in one of the alcoves, the hidden Carved Eye awaits.

Blasted Observer

How to get: This time you’ll need to head to Blasted Lands [55.6, 53.5]. When you see the Dark Portal, descend to its very base to loot the skin from the Carved Eye. Again, if the object does not spawn at the specified location, go to Zidormi to change the phase.

Zealous Observer

How to get: Head to Tirisfal Glades and find the Scarlet Monastery [40.3, 53.2]. The Eye is hanging on the wall in the first alcove to the left as you enter the building.

Ancient Observer

How to get: For this skin, you have to defeat Durumu the Forgotten, receive Durumu’s Glass Pupil from him, and solve a puzzle. 

If you haven’t unlocked the raid zone yet, go to Vale of Eternal Blossoms and talk to one of the elves. You’ll receive the Thunder Calls quest, sending you to Shado-Pan Garrison where you’ll pick up your next assignment that will give you access to the Isle of Thunder.

The puzzle is started by throwing the Pupil into the center of the room. Three braziers of different colors (red, green, and purple), a grimoire, and 16 candles will spawn. Clicking on the grimoire triggers the puzzle, connecting candles with rays of colors that match the brazier colors.

Your task is to count the number of rays of each color and click on the matching braziers to get a stacking buff. Once the buff stacks match the number of rays of the corresponding color, click on the grimoire. Repeat this process five times to summon the Ritual Book and loot the Ancient Observer look for your Warlock pets WoW collection from it.

The main challenge is counting the purple rays, as their number increases rapidly. You can use the following steps:

1. Count the number of candles emitting purple beams.
2. Calculate using the formula: purple candles * (purple candles – 1) / 2. For example, if you have 16 candles with purple rays, the calculation is 16 * (16 – 1) / 2 = 120.
3. Subtract the number of red and green rays from the obtained number. This will be the number of purple rays you need to click on the corresponding brazier.
