Tekken 8 Fan-Favorite Character Won't Be Coming Back

Tekken fans have long been waiting for the series’s eighth release. And it seems that the upcoming King of Iron Fist Tournament is bringing some major changes to the franchise. One of the most significant pieces of news is a fan-favorite character won’t be coming back from death. And it’s confirmed by the producer himself.

Tekken 8 Heihachi Fan-Favorite Character Won't Be Coming Back

The character in question is Heihachi Mishima. He has been the franchise’s staple ever since the very first Tekken game. The former CEO of Mishima Zaibatsu has made his name with his ruthless and powerful style, both in life and in fighting. In the seventh part of the series, Heihachi’s conflict with Kazuya was brought to an end, with the latter throwing his father into a volcano

His character has endured multiple supposed demises throughout the series. But each time, he has come back and emerged even more brutal and relentless than before. Thus, it’s hard to believe he will truly stay dead now. But despite the rumors of his return, the producer of Tekken 8, Katsuhiro Harada, has officially declared that Heihachi’s passing is indeed final. Therefore, putting an end to any speculation about his potential reappearance. The recent confirmation of Heihachi’s fate was unveiled during an interview with TheGamer. Harada and Michael Murray, his translator, were open to discussing the matter. Breaking a long-standing tradition of featuring Heihachi in the game is not a small decision. When asked about the possibility of Heihachi’s return after being thrown into the scorching lava bath, Murray frankly expressed:

“I don’t know how he’s not dead, right?”

Harada then continued:

“He looked pretty dead to me.”

He also cited points from the franchise’s lore, such as how Heihachi didn’t convert the devil gene. Thus, he doesn’t have the same revival powers as Jin or Kazuya.

It remains to be seen how things will fare with the permanent death of Heihachi. But it’s clear that Tekken 8 is shaking things up in a major way. With a release date yet to be announced, fans will have to wait and see what other surprises Tekken 8 has in store for them.
