WoW Nebulous Voidcores unlock boost

The Season 2 unlock starts with In the Catalyst’s Shadow from Decimus in Voidstorm. You then complete Prismatic Potential for Orin Straylight by collecting 10 Elementary Voidcore Shards. The final step, Umbral Blessings of the Catalyst, unlocks the additional weekly Nebulous Voidcore source.

You need 10 Elementary Voidcore Shards to complete Prismatic Potential. They can be obtained from Midnight Season 2 raid bosses, Mythic+ dungeons, Bountiful Delves, and Nightmare Prey Hunts.

After completing this unlock, Orin Straylight provides access to 1 additional Nebulous Voidcore per week. You can also choose a Nebulous Voidcore through the Great Vault when you meet its requirements, giving you up to 2 bonus roll sources per week.

You can use them on a fully upgraded Midnight Season 2 Hero or Myth weapon, trinket, or necklace. Maximum-quality Tidal Crafted items in these slots are also eligible. Other regular armor slots are not part of the Ascendant Venomstone upgrade system.

After the unlock, you can obtain Orin Straylight’s weekly Nebulous Voidcore by exchanging one of the following: 5,000 Gold, 2,000 Voidlight Marl, 80 Veteran Mistcrests. Only one of these payment options is required for the weekly Voidcore.

Nebulous Voidcores are used for Bonus Loot rolls after eligible Midnight Season 2 content. You can spend one after raid bosses, Mythic+ dungeons, Bountiful Delves, or Nightmare Prey Hunts to receive another item from the eligible loot pool for your Loot Specialization.

No. A Nebulous Voidcore gives an additional item from the eligible loot table rather than letting you select one specific drop. Items obtained through Bonus Loot are removed from that corresponding pool, so repeated rolls can improve your chances of eventually getting the gear you want.
