The Lunar Festival is underway in Azeroth. It’s the time to celebrate the Druids’ victory over an ancient evil and honor their elders. Here are what you need to know to make the most of this celebration.
What Is WoW Lunar Festival
The Lunar Festival is the WoW alternative to the traditional Asian New Year. The annual holiday immerses players in the rich cultural traditions and holiday spirit.
When and Where is WoW Lunar Festival 2025
Hosted by the druids of Moonglade, this annual event commenced on January 28 and will end on February 11. You can join in the festivities in Moonglade or in camps in Ironforge, Stormwind, Darnassus, Thunder Bluff, Orgrimmar, Khaz Algar zones, and the Undercity.
Activities
Honoring the Elders
Honoring the elders is WoW Lunar Festival’s tradition. Showing respect to an elder will net you:
- 75 reputation with all of your major city factions
- A Coin of Ancestry. It’s the event’s currency to purchase festival-related items from the Festival Vendors.
- A Lucky Red Envelope, which includes a Lucky Rocket Cluster or an Elder’s Moonstone.
Omen: Seasonal Boss
To summon and defeat Omen:
- Take up the quest Elune’s Blessing from Valadar Starsong.
- Obtain rocket clusters. You can purchase them from a Lunar Festival Vendor. Alternatively, you can get them by crafting or completing quests.
- Head to the Stormrage Barrow Dens in Moonglade, southeast of Lake Elune’ara.
- Launch the fireworks from the rocket clusters near the launchers. Defeat the Minions that appear.
- Omen will eventually spawn. Despite being the final boss of the questline, don’t worry, he’s easy to defeat.
- After Omen is down, stay near his remains to get the Elune’s Blessing buff.
- Return to Valadar Starsong to complete the quest and receive the Elune’s Lantern, which can transform Solid Stone into Elune Stone.

- Frenzied Firecracker: Shoot off 10 Festival Firecrackers in 30 seconds or less.
- Lunar Festival Finery: Purchase a festive pant suit or festive dress with Coins of Ancestry.
- The Rocket’s Red Glare: Shoot off 10 Red Rocket Clusters in 25 seconds or less.

How to complete Lunar Festival 2025 new achievement
To complete Elders of Khaz Algar achievement, you must visit eight NPCs in Khaz Algar zones. We recommend using TomTom addon for better navigation. Here is a full list of all NPCs you must visit and where to find them:

Completing each quest by talking to the NPC will reward you with 1 Coin of Ancestry and 1 Lucky Red Envelope.
WoW Lunar Festival Items 2025
Use your Coins of Ancestry to acquire an array of items, from toys and pets to accessories and holiday apparel. If you won’t be able to spend all your Coins of Ancestry this year, you can always store them in your bank for future use next year.
