BlizzCon 2026 overview: Blizzard is preparing major announcements across its games, but World of Warcraft looks positioned to take center stage. Here’s what is confirmed and what we think could realistically be announced.

BlizzCon 2026 dates
BlizzCon 2026 takes place September 12-13 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California. The Opening Ceremony begins on September 12 at 10:30 a.m. PDT, followed almost immediately by several World of Warcraft presentations.
Blizzard has also confirmed that the Opening Ceremony and major panels will be livestreamed for free, meaning you won’t need to attend BlizzCon in person to follow the biggest announcements.
BlizzCon 2026 overview
After several years without a traditional BlizzCon, Blizzard is bringing its biggest community event back with announcements, developer panels, esports, hands-on gameplay, the Darkmoon Faire, and more.
For World of Warcraft players, the schedule is particularly interesting. Blizzard has dedicated several major presentations to WoW, including World of Warcraft: What’s Next, World of Warcraft: What’s Next II, and a World of Warcraft: Deep Dive.
There is even a separate World of Warcraft Hardcore: What’s Next panel on the second day of the event. With that much stage time, we probably aren’t looking at a few minor patch announcements.n.
WoW Retail plans at BlizzCon 2026
Midnight Season 2 is already underway, while Patch 12.1.5 has been revealed with Labyrinths, the Kith’ix raid, Aqir Invasions, and Ascendant Venomstones. That leaves Blizzard in a good position to start talking about what comes after the currently announced Midnight content. The most likely reveal is an updated Retail roadmap covering the rest of Midnight and the transition toward the next major stage of the Worldsoul Saga.
Blizzard has already confirmed that The Last Titan will follow Midnight as the third and final expansion of the Worldsoul Saga. Because of that, BlizzCon 2026 would be an obvious opportunity to give players their first meaningful look at the expansion, whether through a cinematic teaser, story reveal, development update, or even a full expansion presentation.
Still, we wouldn’t consider a complete The Last Titan reveal guaranteed yet. Blizzard could instead use BlizzCon to focus on the remaining Midnight patches before teasing what comes next.

WoW Classic at BlizzCon 2026
Retail might have the biggest guaranteed presence, but WoW Classic could provide the biggest surprise. There are several questions Blizzard needs to answer about the future of Classic.
Mists of Pandaria Classic has already reached Siege of Orgrimmar, its final major raid tier. That means Blizzard will eventually need to decide whether progression servers continue into Warlords of Draenor Classic or move in a different direction. A Warlords of Draenor Classic announcement therefore remains one of the more straightforward possibilities for BlizzCon.
The biggest question surrounding WoW Classic is still Classic+. Blizzard has never officially announced Classic+, but speculation increased considerably after datamining uncovered references to a project called WoW Camelot, including a separate Patch 1.60 branch and product licenses.
There are enough clues to make a major Classic project plausible, but not enough to say what Camelot actually is, or even confirm that it will be announced at BlizzCon. WoW has a large presence across both days of BlizzCon 2026. The most important presentations currently scheduled include:

There are also panels covering WoW cinematics, world building, art design, housing and creative systems, alongside the Arena World Championship and Mythic Dungeon International Grand Finals.
What else could Blizzard announce?
World of Warcraft won’t be the only game at BlizzCon. Blizzard has confirmed hands-on gameplay and event representation for Diablo IV, Overwatch, Hearthstone, Diablo Immortal, and several classic Blizzard titles alongside WoW. There will also be a dedicated Blizzard Arcade and a new Classic Stage.
We expect updates from most of Blizzard’s active franchises during the weekend, but the current schedule makes World of Warcraft one of the games to watch most closely.
