Team Liquid has won the Race to World First in The Venomous Abyss! Check out all the details below about the first Mythic kill of Ula’tek and one of the closest RWF finishes between Liquid and Echo in recent years.

Who won The Venomous Abyss RWF

Team Liquid won The Venomous Abyss RWF after defeating Mythic Ula’tek on September 3, 2026. The final boss fell after 307 pulls, ending a race that lasted roughly 16 days from the North American Mythic unlock.

Echo came incredibly close to taking the crown. The European guild defeated Ula’tek only around 26 minutes after Liquid, making this the closest finish between Liquid and Echo in five raid tiers. Echo finished the boss in 335 pulls.

Liquid defeated Mythic Ula’tek after 307 pulls and secured their fifth consecutive Race to World First victory.
The race lasted roughly 16 days and crossed multiple weekly resets, making The Venomous Abyss one of the longer modern RWF events.
Echo finished only about 26 minutes behind Liquid. Earlier on the final day, Echo had already reached 3.68%, while Liquid’s best was still around 32%, making Liquid’s comeback especially dramatic.
Liquid went from a 15.59% best attempt to killing Ula’tek only four pulls later. Their successful pull lasted roughly 10 minutes.
Ula’tek was not the only major wall of the tier. The penultimate boss, The Coiled Altar, took Liquid 310 pulls to defeat, meaning the guild had to overcome back-to-back 300+ pull encounters to win the race.
The Coiled Altar became one of the most time-consuming penultimate bosses in RWF history.
Liquid spent several days progressing it, while Echo needed 219 pulls and Method nearly 400.
The final moments of Ula’tek progression featured an unusual strategy where players jumped into the venom during Phase 3 to gain additional damage time.
Blizzard was actively working on preventing the interaction while the race was still underway.
Liquid’s World First composition used two Blood Death Knight tanks, four healers, and 14 DPS players.
