Destiny 2: New Monument to Beloved Character in the Tower

1 min read 0 2

Over the years, Destiny 2 has seen many memorable faces come and go. Still, it’s never easy to bid an old friend who has been sticking with you through thick and thin since the game’s very first day an eternal farewell. Understanding this, Bungie has decided to build a monument in the Tower to honor the beloved character. If you haven’t yet had the opportunity to experience the story firsthand and want to avoid spoilers, we recommend that you play the game before reading on. But if you choose to continue, proceed at your own risk.

The community is still reeling from the loss of Amanda Holliday after her selfless sacrifice. In her final mission, she teamed up with the Guardians and Mithrax to free the captives from the grasp of Calus’s Shadow Legion. The team’s rescue efforts have been successful but came at a great cost. One that was so abrupt that players are still struggling to come to terms with Amanda’s sudden departure. Especially when Amanda had been a close ally with the Guardians since day one, making her loss all the more devastating.

Fans can now pay their respects to the beloved character at a new monument in the Tower. It’s situated in the hangar where Holliday once resided. It bears a resemblance to the one Bungie erected in the main courtyard to honor Cayde-6.

The death of Amanda Holliday has left a gaping hole in the hearts of her closest allies. Players will no doubt get to experience the impact it has on the remaining characters. Crow, for instance, was deeply affected by Holliday’s selfless act. He made it clear during her memorial service that he was determined to seek revenge against The Shadow Legion. But we still have a lot of time to see how the story will pan out. Bungie has a lot of time before the true endgame arrives. Thus, they have ample opportunity to weave a rich and meaningful narrative.
