The annual autumn event has returned to delight players mid-season, and, as always, there is something for all Guardians to do. For this occasion, we have prepared a new guide for the upcoming celebration of both the living and the dead. Here, you’ll find all the information about activities, rewards, when the event ends, and, of course, how to participate. So, sit back comfortably because the ghosts of the past do not like to wait!
What is the Destiny 2 Festival of The Lost 2024?
Likely, much of what you’ll experience during this event will already be familiar, as it closely resembles the real Halloween in October. Guardians recall the dangers they faced in the past and laugh in their faces, wearing masks of various characters and eating candy to honor the souls of fallen friends for a couple of weeks.

Of course, during Destiny 2 Halloween, players have to face nightmarish creatures, from which you can obtain a bunch of candy and valuable loot. Before departing, visit Eva Levante at the Tower, who patiently waits for you and offers you an event mask.
When does Festival of The Lost start?
Festival of The Lost 2024 will start on October 29 after weekly reset. So, you have to find old masks and prepare for it very soon!
When does Festival of the Lost end?
Festival of the Lost will last exactly three weeks and will end on November 19. Check your calendar and hurry to grab everything you can!
Festival of the Lost 2024 activities
As in the past three years, D2 players again have to visit Haunted Lost Sectors. It can be launched using the icon located on The Tower Map. The premise of this activity is very straightforward and easy to understand for everyone:
- Stand inside the Ritual Circle until the Headless One (Big Hive Knight with pumpkin head) appears, which you must destroy as quickly as possible
- Repeat until your timer runs out or you defeat 10 Headless Ones
- After that, the Haunted Lost Sector Boss will appear, becoming Immune after you take down a third of its HP
- To remove the shield, summon the Headless One. After killing it, pumpkins will spawn. Throwing them at the boss would damage the shield

Just like last year, Haunted Lost Sectors will now have Expert Difficulty. As in all other activities, you’ll get more rewards from Expert, which we’ll talk about a bit later.
Remember to wear a special Mask during Destiny 2 Halloween 2024 because you’ll receive most of the rewards once you are dressed appropriately!
How to get Candy in the Destiny 2 Festival of the Lost 2024?
Regarding rewards, one of the main currencies in FotL (Festival of the Lost) are Candies. You must engage in activities while wearing a Mask to start earning them. You can also obtain them instantly at the Tower, specifically on two trees located near Eva and Ikora. In total, you could make about 800 Candies per character, which is quite a lot. They can be spent to focus entirely on new engrams, which will be discussed in the following section.
How to get Eerie Engrams in the D2 Festival of the Lost?
To make FotL even more rewarding, Bungie added last year a currency called Eerie Engrams. They’ll drop upon completion of Haunted Sectors with a certain chance. You must pass the Legend Version of this Activity to get a guaranteed engram. If you want to obtain more Eerie Engrams, you can try completing the Expert version, which may grant you an additional Eerie Engram after passing it.
As is fitting for engrams, they can be focused to get specific loot. Unfortunately, Exotic Engrams cannot give you Armor from The Final Shape year. Focusing will be available from Eva Levante, and you’ll have six different options:
- Randomized FOTL Weapon Eerie Engram (500 Candy)
- Specific FOTL Weapon Eerie Engram (1000 Candy)
- Exotic Arms Eerie Engram (2500 Candy)
- Exotic Legs Eerie Engram (2500 Candy)
- Exotic Helmet Eerie Engram (2500 Candy)
- Exotic Chest Eerie Engram (2500 Candy)
Exotic Class Item (2500 Candy) is worth mentioning separately. It is guaranteed to drop with selected Exotic Class Item Attunement if you have a fully accomplished Dual Destiny mission, and can be obtained with random perks without completing Dual Destiny mission. If you have not finished the mission and obtained it with random perks, you can later purchase more Exotic Class Items from Xur or farm them from Overthrow chests. Remember, The Final Shape DLC is required to obtain it.
In general, as you already understood, the main currency for focusing during the Destiny Festival of The Lost 2024 is Candies, so you’ll have to save quite a lot of them.
How to get Pages in the Destiny 2 Festival of the Lost 2024?
While completing the Festival of the Lost quest, you might encounter only Manifested Pages in FoTL 2024. What are they, how to get them, and why are they needed? We’ll sort that out now.
Previously, you had to collect Spectral Pages, but now you only need Manifested Pages. You can find them in Haunted Sectors after opening a chest, but that’s just one source. You can earn them from any activity if you’re equipped with your halloween mask.
Where to spend the earned Manifested Pages? With them, you have the capability to unlock Shrouded Pages in the Book of the Forgotten, located to the right of Eva Levante. To achieve the Title, you must open all the pages in Vol.4, but we’ll discuss this later.
How to get Superblack shader in Destiny 2 Festival of the Lost 2024?
Superblack shader is back and you can easily unlock it by just completing all 15 Event Challenges. You will receive it from the Ghost Writer Event Challenge after completing them.
How to get Lost Memento in the Destiny 2 Festival of the Lost 2024?
Is Superblack shader not enough for you? Then Lost Memento is available again for you to get and its main feature is still that it makes your weapon completely black. It’ll only be available during the Festival Of The Lost Event Destiny 2, so we advise you to hurry up!
You may obtain it either by focusing items or by completing a mysterious triumph called Twilight. The goals you need to achieve are hidden from you, so here’s all info you need:
- Equip Tower Staff Mask and talk to Eva and then Saint-14 to get Confiscated Gift Bag
- Equip Cursed Thrall mask and get 100 takedowns with explosive damage
- Equip Finalized Ghost mask and get 50 Sword takedowns in Expert Haunted Sectors

Festival of the Lost weapons overview
Moving to the sweetest part, specifically the weapons that can be obtained this time. This year, five weapons are available to grind, each of which may appeal to you to one degree or another. Take your time and consider which one suits you best.
Arcane Embrace, Shotgun
- Best PvE perks:
- Fourth Time’s the Charm
- Precision Instrument

Arcane Embrace is the first Heavy Burst Shotgun and already comes with fairly good perks. Since you’ll most likely be using it to deal damage to powerful combatants or bosses, the best combination would be Fourth Time’s the Charm and Precision Instrument. This combo will frequently return rounds to the magazine and increase Crit Damage for each Critical Hit.
BrayTech Werewolf, Auto Rifle
- Best PvE perks:
- Rewind Rounds/Pugilist/Subsistence
- Kinetic Tremors/Onslaught
- Best PvP perks:
- Zen Moment / Lone Wolf / Dynamic Sway Reduction
- Tap the Trigger / Kill Clip / Onslaught / Target Lock

Horror Story was replaced by BrayTech Werewolf, which is excellent for both PvE and PvP. If you want a deadly Auto Rifle for easy content, Subsistence, and Onslaught will satisfy your needs. For more challenging encounters, Rewind Rounds and Kinetic Tremors are better suited.
In Crucible, the situation with BrayTech Werewolf is much more intriguing. Its stats stand out right away, as it has the highest Range and Aim Assistance among other Kinetic Precision ARs. The advantages of this weapon don’t end there, as its perk pool is excellent. We could list great perk combinations endlessly, but we must highlight Zen Moment + Tap the Trigger, which almost completely eliminates recoil, and Lone Wolf with Kill Clip for Kill Streaks in 6v6 Game Modes. All in all, BrayTech Werewolf is one of the best weapons in Festival of the Lost in Destiny 2.
Jurassic Green, Pulse Rifle
- Best PvE perks:
- Heal Clip
- Incandescent / Frenzy
- Best PvP perks:
- Keep Away / Lone Wolf
- Headseeker / Kill Clip

Who would have thought that one of the worst Pulse Rifles would get some of the best perks for all activities?
Are you looking to get a good PvP weapon or something to use with your Solar Build? Jurassic Green can easily satisfy your requests. Let’s quickly discuss The Crucible, as you won’t find better perks than Keep Away and Headseeker on Pulse Rifles. With them, you’ll almost always be going to have a +10 range, +30 reload speed, and improved accuracy, but also the capability to increase your damage when hitting the body.
The situation with PvE is much more interesting. With the Heal Clip, you’ll be practically immortal, as it’ll heal you upon finishing a reload after the Final Blow from this weapon. In the fourth column, you have two remarkable perks:
- Incandescent is great with Solar builds, as it applies Scorch after Final Blow to all enemies around
- Frenzy increases damage, reload speed, and handling if you are in combat for 12 seconds
Everyone may find a perk to their liking, so don’t be afraid to experiment during this Destiny 2 Halloween event in 2024.
Acosmic GSP, Grenade Launcher
- Best PvE perks:
- Air Trigger / Clown Cartridge / Withering Gaze
- Bait and Switch / Explosive Light / Cascade Point

Last year, Acosmic GSP was a mediocre weapon, but that’s no longer the case. Bungie not only buffed Rapid-Fire Heavy GLs but also updated its perks, even adding Bait and Switch. As for the third column, the best perk here is definitely Air Trigger, but also keep an eye on Withering Gaze. This perk applies a Weaken Debuff to the target, which can be very useful in many situations.
Mechabre, Sniper Rifle
- Best PvE perks:
- Auto-Loading Holster / Clown Cartridge
- Vorpal Weapon
- Best PvP perks:
- Snapshot Sights
- Opening Shot

As soon as this Festival of the Lost Sniper came to light, it immediately became clear that we have one of the best Sniper Rifles for the Crucible in front of us.
Mechabre has good stats, excellent perks, and, of course, a beautiful look and sound. The PvP God Roll here is extremely obvious, as it has a combination of Snapshot Sights and Opening Shot. In terms of use in PvE, we do not recommend farming it for this, as there are alternative options that are stronger and much easier to receive.
Festival of the Lost Event Card and Title
As always, to complete the Title, you will need to finish the Event Card, or rather the Challenges available there. With the event’s release, we added all the relevant information about it.

Of course, you can obtain glided seal. In order to get it, you have to complete these triumphs:

Cosmetic Items in Festival of the Lost 2024: Armor Sets, Finisher, Sparrow, and more
In addition to weapons, the FotL event constantly delights us with excellent gear sets and other cosmetics that can be obtained here. We’ll describe everything you can get this year.
This year’s Destiny 2 Festival of the Lost Armor is dedicated to the evil and nice wizards. In the vote, Hunters and Titans voted for Evil looks, while Warlocks decided to stand out and to be Nice ones.

Of course, not everyone may like the insect theme, and then you can still buy last year’s sets, such as armor themed after insects, mechs, dinosaurs, skeletons, and more.

As always, we’ll be the first to look at the most interesting items, some of which can be obtained for free for Bright Dust during the event:
Two Ships: Nevermore and The Wretched Bough

Two Sparrows: Conductive Hubris and Grotesque Lapis

Two Ghosts: Interstellar and Eternal Shell

Two Finishers: Stone-Cold Smash and Colony Crush

Five Emotes: Colony Crush, Trick or Trio, Have a Balloon, Knock Knock, Jump Scare, and Peekaboo
