Destiny 1 Composer Marty O’Donnell Is Running for Congress

Marty O’Donnell is running for congress and this is quite an unexpected event!

Bungie’s projects are renowned for their music, and much of the credit goes to Marty O’Donnell. This composer worked on the soundtrack for Halo Combat Evolved up to Reach and eventually assisted with the music for Destiny 1. Unfortunately, Bungie severed ties with Marty O’Donnell in April 2014, leading to numerous law suits involving the composer, Bungie, and even Microsoft. O’Donnell even managed to found his own studio, Highwire Games, which released Golem for VR and Six Days in Fallujah. Now, the 68-year-old composer has decided to take his career to a new level by running for congress in Nevada’s third congressional district in the 2024 House of Representatives elections.

As the Republican Party candidate, Marty wishes to change an America that is mired in “toxic divisions” that are “tearing apart our families and society” and is also doing a terrible job with the economy in the country. According to the former Bungie employee, the main problem is “Big corporate executives and big union bosses. Big tech, big pharma, big media, big whatever — all trying to control big government in Washington DC.” Below, you can read the full announcement, which also includes a link to a website offering a vote for him and to join “Marty’s Army”:

The attached website contains many different links, including a Discord server. New members of the server ask Marty O’Donnell a variety of questions, including important topics such as his positions on Israel / Palestine and LGBTQ+ issues:

Users have mixed reactions to O’Donnell’s campaign, with some supporting the politician’s new endeavors, while others are negative for a variety of reasons, including what is happening on the Discord server itself with a toxic community:

So apparently marty is running as a republican with a campaign based on "family values." Aka, anti-abortion, anti-trans rights, etc.

I highly doubt it'll happen but I kind of hope Marty O'Donnell does well in his bid for Representative because A. it's only a slight improvement over the chick currently in the position and B. it's really funny.
