Pet Specializations change
In Patch 11.1, Blizzard brings a highly requested feature to all Hunters. They announced this change with other news for 11.1 in their blue post. Players in 11.1 would be able to change their pet’s specialization directly from the Stable. This small but important update will give Hunters more freedom in choosing the right pet for different content. The default Pet Specialization for pets you tame, will stay the same as they were, you would just be able to change it.

The new pet specialization feature can be accessed through a simple dropdown menu in the Stable, allowing players to switch between different specializations easily. Or you can change your favourite Pet Spec so that it will accompany you everywhere. This change comes after years of feedback from the Hunter community, who have long asked for more control over their pets’ roles in battle.
This update builds on the revamped Stable UI introduced in Patch 10.2.7, designed to improve how Hunters manage their pets. With Patch 11.1, Blizzard continues to listen to player feedback, bringing even more quality-of-life improvements to the class.
It is essential to know that players could, in the past, change Pet Specialization. However, this feature was removed to set the Pet Families system. Pets were locked into one of the three Pet Families: Ferocity Pets, Cunning Pets, and Tenacity Pets. For example, turtles and bears were locked into the Tenacity Family and could only use their tenacity abilities. With those limits gone, players can have more freedom in Pet choice, as it doesn’t affect gameplay that much now.
Conclusion
Overall, this is a welcome update for Hunters in patch 11,1, adding more depth and customization to pet management. This will significantly benefit RP players, who can finally have snapping turtle pets with Cunning or Ferocity specialization.
