Amirdrassil, The Dream’s Hope Tier List Criteria

Dragonflight Raid Class Rankings: Amirdrassil, The Dream's Hope

First, take a look at the criteria we’ve used to create these tier lists:

Those are the primary criteria that increase the chances of a raid run to be successful. The following is an explanation of how each separate tier is formed and which specs can represent it.

Now that you understand how and based on what our list is formed, we’re good to go.

Amirdrassil, The Dream’s Hope DPS Tier List

Ranged DPS Tier List

Dragonflight Raid Class Rankings for Ranged DPS: Amirdrassil, The Dream's Hope

S-Tier Specs

Beast Mastery Hunter

The most mobile ranged DPS spec in the game. Your mobility as a Beast Mastery Hunter is basically unlimited. You can sustain your effective DPS rotation while moving. The spec also utilizes many defensive options, gaining decent survivability.

Devastation Evoker

Devastation Evoker are exceptionally good at cleaving enemies, especially in two-target scenarios. Devastation Evoker is a very mobile specialization with a high level of survivability. They can also provide off-healing.

Augmentation Evoker

Augmentation Evoker currently has the most valuable raid utility among all other classes. Even though the specialization is new to the game, it has proven itself more than useful in raid runs. Augmentation Evokers can increase the overall damage output of the group and provide off-healing. They are self-sufficient and have high enough mobility and survivability.

A-Tier Specs

Fire Mage

Fire Mages has excellent burst damage thanks to Combustion. Though Fire Mage is not good at self-healing, the spec makes up for that with various defensive options and high mobility. However, Fire Mage is not flexible with their talent choices and doesn’t bring any unique utility to the group.

Balance Druid

Balance Druid is one of the greatest specs in WoW when it comes to burst damage. It has multiple useful utilities, such as Innervate and Typhoon. Balance Druid is self-sufficient, quite tanky, and mobile. They might lose to some other spec in raw damage since the Balance talent tree does not affect the damage output considerably.

Arcane Mage

Arcane Mage is also a bursting specialization with great mobility and utility. Arcane Mage has many defenses but fails to self-heal efficiently as well. The spec can sustain considerable DPS, but it is highly reliant on the timings of burst windows and the execute phase. Arcane Mage is also a skill-demanding specialization requiring great knowledge of the class and rotation to be effective in combat.

Affliction Warlock

Affliction Warlock plays well in AoE-focused encounters and has powerful cooldowns, both offensive and defensive. However, the overall damage output of Affliction Warlock is mediocre compared to stronger specializations. The 10.2 changes for this spec are not significant, preventing it from going up the tier list in the upcoming patch.

B-Tier Specs

Frost Mage

Frost Mage’s damage is quite bursty due to the high uptime of Icy Veins. The spec utilizes multiple effective defensives and has impressive mobility, but self-healing is limited. The utility of Frost Mage is decent, and there are plenty of CC options, which might come in handy in specific encounters. However, there are better Dragonflight DPS choices for raiding than Frost Mage right now. 10.2 is not bringing any considerable updates to this specialization.

Destruction Warlock

Destruction Warlock is a solid A-tier spec with impressive single-target damage. The wide-party utility of this class is undoubted. Destruction Warlocks also excel at dealing with two-target encounters because of Havoc. However, one of the critical drawbacks of this spec lies in its limited mobility and survivability. To maximize damage output as a Destruction Warlock, one must often remain stationary while casting, which can present challenges in encounters requiring frequent movement to evade mechanics. Despite the 10.2 changes focusing on enhancing core spells like Chaos Bolt and Rain of Fire, the issue of mobility remains largely unaddressed.

Demonology Warlock

Demonology Warlock is one of the tankiest specializations among the ranged DPS classes. It also has astonishing self-healing capabilities. Yet, the overall damage of Demonology Warlock does not allow the spec to get high on the raid DPS tier list. Demonology has relatively low burst damage and limited mobility. However, the 10.2 is about to empower many core offensive abilities of this specialization, possibly allowing it to take higher positions in the damage meters.

Elemental Shaman

Elemental Shaman has decent single-target damage and cleaving capabilities. The specialization is also abundant with minor offensive cooldowns and can inflict amazing burst damage in the hit-the-boss windows. However, Elemental Shaman lacks both mobility and defensives, which negatively impacts the spec’s survivability on the battlefield. The changes awaiting this specialization in the Guardians of the Dream patch are not significant.

Marksmanship Hunter

Marksmanship Hunter has decent opening damage and is very mobile. However, the specialization is weak outside of its burst window, which negatively affects the overall damage output. Marksmanship Hunter does not have any effective survivability tools and lacks utility. The minor changes that 10.2 has prepared for this spec will probably not improve the situation.

Shadow Priest

The positioning of the Shadow Priest remains a topic of debate within the community, but as of now, it likely stands in this spot. The spec boasts formidable single-target damage. However, its limited flexibility in talent selection and mobility are big drawbacks. Beyond its burst windows, the overall DPS of the Shadow Priest experiences a noticeable decline. The spec is receiving some improvements in 10.2. However, at the moment, it cannot compete with other ranged DPS.

Melee DPS Tier List

Dragonflight Raid Class Rankings for Melee DPS: Amirdrassil, The Dream's Hope

S-Tier Specs

Unholy Death Knight

The single-target potential of Unholy Death Knight is second to none, considering their burst potential. Though Unholy Death Knight is a little dependent on their Gargoyle burst window, it is not that big of an issue in raids. The overall damage output is still astonishing, provided that the spec is played correctly. Besides, the devs promise to redistribute the spec’s damage to address the problem. The opening burst of Unholy DK is the most powerful among all other melee classes. Though the spec’s mobility isn’t great, high survivability makes up for that with a lot of available defensive options.

Enhancement Shaman

Enhancement Shaman is a very flexible spec with many different builds that are evenly efficient. The spec has great mobility and impressive damage output in single-target encounters. It greatly enhances group dynamics by providing valuable utility through dispels, off-healing capabilities, and crowd control options. Enhancement Shaman is skill-demanding. However, with a deep understanding of its rotation, consistently staying on top of the damage meters is always possible.

Outlaw Rogue

Outlaw Rogue has been tremendously efficient lately in both single-target and AoE situations. The biggest advantage of the spec is their ability to sustain their effective single-target DPS rotation while dealing decent AoE damage. We have the Blade Flurry ability to thank for that. The spec’s burst damage and mobility are also close to perfection. The talent-pathing issues that the spec’s been struggling with during the previous patch are being addressed in 10.2 This ensures an S-tier position for Outlaw Rogue.

Feral Druid

Feral Druid is one of the most self-sufficient melee specializations in WoW. Second-to-none mobility and an abundance of defensive options are the reasons for that. Feral Druid has decent single-target damage and many spreadable cooldowns. However, the spec suffers a utility problem. Any raid party will most likely have another druid to buff the group with Mark of the Wild. 10.2 will adjust the Apex Predator ability to even the spec’s AoE and single-target DPS potential, which is definitely an improvement for the raid setting.

A-Tier Specs

Retribution Paladin

Retribution Paladin is a self-sufficient spec with a lot of tankiness and options for self-healing and off-healing group members. However, the spec struggles to cleave multiple targets effectively without losing a lot of pure single-target DPS. The reason for that is inconvenient talent pathing in the spec tree. The mobility is also quite low, and the issues mentioned are not actually getting fixed in 10.2. Nevertheless, Retribution Paladin stays a safe choice for many due to its burst damage and easy rotation.

Havoc Demon Hunter

Havoc Demon Hunter is an insanely mobile specialization with tremendous burst damage. Their Chaos Brand debuff is unique to the class, making Havoc Demon Hunter highly useful in raids. Havos also has impressive self-healing options, increasing personal survivability. A considerable problem of this spec is the lack of pure single-target damage. The Guardians of the Dream patch has prepared a lot of changes for Havoc, including both nerfs and buffs. It is yet to be seen how those will actually affect the specialization in 10.2.

Subtlety Rogue

Subtlety Rogue is one of the most valuable DPS classes in terms of burst damage. When playing the specialization properly, you will always have a cooldown or two ready to be used. This makes Subtlety Rogue very flexible, allowing the spec to focus their damage output as they see fit throughout the course of a fight. Subtlety Rogue is also a solid melee spec with great mobility and utility. The main problem of the specialization currently concerns the convenience of its talent tree. However, the tree will be completely redesigned in 10.2, fixing the issue.

Assassination Rogue

The Assassination Rogue specializes in delivering exceptional single-target damage and impressive burst potential. Particularly effective in prolonged encounters, the spec capitalizes on poison and bleed damage to maintain a steady advantage that ramps up over time. Assassination Rogue also showcases commendable mobility and is equipped with a utility kit that holds its own. Notably, the 10.2 changes have significantly improved the spec, solidifying the Assassination Rogue’s standing as an A-tier specialization.

B-Tier Specs

Windwalker Monk

Unfortunately, Windwalker Monks currently cannot outperform other melee DPS specs. Windwalker’s mobility is exceptional, and they have moderate burst damage. However, the spec has limited utility and lacks survivability. As for the 10.2 changes for Windwalker, they do not appear game-changing.

Arms Warrior and Fury Warrior

Both Arms Warrior and Fury Warrior struggle with the same problem right now. The specs suffer a lot from the encounters’ downtime because of the inability to generate Rage. It may be a significant issue in modern raids. Though both specs have great mobility and strong defensives, they lack damage mitigation and self-healing options. Neither Arms nor Fury receive any considerable improvements in Guardians of the Dream.

Frost Death Knight

Frost Death Knight feels great during burst windows and has impressive cleave damage. It is a great choice for raids with many multi-target fights. Their survivability is also second to none among other DPS specs. Yet Frost Death Knight lacks utility, and their mobility is not amazing. Unfortunately, no notable updates await this spec in 10.2.

Survival Hunter

Survival Hunter has been struggling to get up on the Dragonflight DPS rankings. It has historically been one of the least played specs, often experiencing neglect from Blizzard. Though the spec boasts high mobility, it doesn’t have any other significant advantages. Survival Hunters do not have any unique utility and strongly depend on their pets to perform efficiently. There are no improvements awaiting this specialization in 10.2.

With that, we have concluded the DPS ranking Amirdrassil, The Dream’s Hope. And so, it’s time to shift our focus and dive into the world of Healers.

Amirdrassil, The Dream’s Hope Healer Tier List

Dragonflight Raid Class Rankings for Healer: Amirdrassil, The Dream's Hope

S-Tier Specs

Discipline Priest

One of the most reliable healer specializations of all time. It excels at priority healing and can easily deal with occurrences of heavy damage impacts. Discipline Priest also heals party members off the spec’s offensive spells, contributing to the overall party damage output considerably. Discipline receives many updates in 10.2, and they are mostly improvements or quality-of-life changes.

Restoration Druid

Restoration Druids have exceptional burst healing and can distribute their heals as they see fit, successfully adjusting to different combat scenarios. Restoration Druid has outstanding utility and mobility. A minor disadvantage of Restoration compared to Discipline Priest is the lesser number of responses to heavy damage intakes. Many Restoration’s core spells are improving in 10.2, including Regrowth, Rejuvenation, and Swiftmend.

A-Tier Specs

Mistweaver Monk

Mistweaver Monk is an amazing healer specialization with high durability and multiple defensive options. It is also insanely mobile, allowing Mistweavers to get out of dangerous situations and continue healing swiftly. Besides, the specialization receives a ton of improvements in 10.2. Those mainly include core healing spells, making Mistweaver Monk even more powerful.

Holy Priest

Holy Priests are very flexible healers who utilize many party-wide cooldowns to assist the raid. Mastery: Echo of Light allows this specialization to complement its powerful direct heals with additional HoTs. However, the specialization lacks personal survivability compared to other healers. Holy Priest’s mobility is limited, and their ability to respond to heavy damage is relatively lower compared to the S-tier specs. In addition, some essential abilities are getting nerfed in 10.2 due to their overperformance in the previous patch.

B-Tier Specs

Preservation Evoker

Preservation Evoker is a decent healer specialization with high healing potential and a handful of powerful cooldowns. The spec is also very mobile and utilizes various powerful defensive cooldowns. However, Preservation is far more efficient at AoE healing rather than focusing on a single target. And the limited range of spell-casting is a severe problem for a healer spec. The spec does not receive any considerable changes in 10.2, aside from some increases in pure healing of Spiritbloom, Living Flame, and Verdant Embrace.

Restoration Shaman

Restoration Shaman currently demonstrates mediocre performance in raids. They have decent utility with an additional combat resurrection and survivability toolkit. However, Restoration Shaman is relatively weak outside of their cooldowns and cannot save tanks from massive damage intakes. Both buffs and nerfs are coming for Restoration in 10.2, so it is not yet clear whether the spec will be able to move up the tier list.

Holy Paladin

Holy Paladin excels at single-target healing and is probably the tankiest healer spec out there. Holy brings strong utility to the group and utilizes many powerful defensives. However, the specialization is not that strong in AoE situations and lacks mobility tools, making it more difficult to play efficiently in specific scenarios. Besides, Holy is a punishing spec in terms of the correctness of the Holy Power usage. A few changes awaiting Holy Paladins in 10.2 do not seem very impactful overall.

Amirdrassil, The Dream’s Hope Tank Tier List

Dragonflight Raid Class Rankings for Tanks: Amirdrassil, The Dream's Hope

S-Tier Specs

Brewmaster Monk

Brewmaster Monk excels at passive damage mitigation and is also amazingly mobile. They utilize an extremely powerful ability, Celestial Fortune, making the numbers on the incoming heals massive. Brewmaster Monk is a very versatile spec able to manage any incoming damage patterns. It also has exceptional damage output in both AoE and single-target scenarios. 10.2 has prepared no changes for Brewmasters, so the spec will remain a top-notch tank.

Vengeance Demon Hunter

Vengeance Demon Hunter is one of the best tanks in terms of snapping aggro at the beginning of the fight. The spec can rotate its cooldowns frequently with a high overall uptime. Vengeance is an exceptionally mobile specialization with impressive self-healing capabilities. This tank spec is mostly self-sufficient and can easily main-tank any encounter. The 10.2 changes for Vengeance are insignificant, and the spec will likely keep its S-tier position.

Protection Paladin

Protection Paladins have impressive utility and decent self-healing options. They can also use various CC abilities to help the group. However, it has a relatively low health pool compared to other tanks and limited mobility. Besides, Protection Paladin is a demanding specialization, and the gameplay mistakes may feel very punishing. However, for those who invest the effort to master this specialization, the Protection Paladin is definitely a formidable force to be reckoned with.

A-Tier Specs

Protection Warrior

Protection Warriors are highly mobile and have outstanding physical damage mitigation. They utilize tons of strong defensive and offensive cooldowns. Protection Warriors also have exceptional burst AOE damage. However, the self-healing options of the specialization are very limited. Also, the main resource management may be challenging in particular situations. There are no significant changes for Protections Warriors in the Guardians of the Dream patch.

Blood Death Knight

Blood Death Knights is a self-sufficient specialization with a high survivability level and effective self-healing tools. It is also very flexible and utilizes a ton of different abilities that allow it to avoid various inconvenient mechanics. However, the necessity to take a lot of damage and then heal it back makes Blood Death Knights vulnerable to heavy one-strike damage intakes. It may be quite dangerous in raids. Besides, the spec’s mobility is limited, while its damage potential is weak in comparison to other tanks.

B-Tier Specs

Guardian Druid

Guardian druids are beefy and tanky, making use of effective passive damage reduction. The specialization has decent utility, though CC options are very limited. Besides, Guardian Druids may struggle with threat since a huge portion of their damage is based on DoTs. 10.2 has prepared some changes for this specialization, but they are mostly nerfs for Guardian’s AoE Rage generation.

Dragonflight Raid Class Tier List Conclusion
