Orlando Salvatore, developer of Plunderstorm, left Blizzard
Orlando Salvatore, a developer known for his work on Plunderstorm, MoP Remix, and many other exciting projects, has announced his departure from Blizzard after nearly five years.

As a Lead Software Engineer of Blizzard, Orlando Salvatore is a key figure behind some of the most innovative projects at Blizzard Entertainment. He contributed significantly to:
- Plunderstorm: The first-ever 60-player battle royale in World of Warcraft.
- Mists of Pandaria Remix (MoP Remix): A fresh take on one of the most beloved expansions. The event allows players to quickly level up from 10 to 70, blending nostalgia with novelty for both veteran and new players.
- Follower dungeons: An innovative gameplay mechanic that enables players to bring NPCs into dungeons, filling various roles within the team.
- Gear update system
In his farewell message, Orlando expressed his gratitude for the experiences he gained at Blizzard. He reflected on the incredible moments spent with talented colleagues and the excitement of creating memorable content. Orlando also acknowledged the invaluable support he received from mentors and peers, including Holly Longdale, Mike Ybarra, John Hight, Jeremy Feasel (Muffinus), and Raymond Bartos.
Salvatore has yet to announce his plan for the future. He mentioned, “I want to always keep pushing myself, growing, developing, becoming better. I love working on games and can’t wait to continue moving forward.”
