Mythic plus leavers banned for griefing: Blizzard takes actions
Blizzard confirmed that Mythic+ leavers are getting suspended for griefing too many groups. Here is what the community thinks about this new policy.
On November 26, 2024, Blizzard announced its new policy toward Mythic plus leavers. They confirmed that griefing Mythic plus by leaving a group too often will result in a player’s suspension. The first wave of the Mythic plus leavers ban has been implemented. Blizzard did not mention the exact number of left M+ runs that will result in suspension. However, the company mentioned that this action will be taken only against malicious violators who intentionally ruin other players’ runs. Blizzard also promises to monitor the situation and adjust new policies if needed.
We understand that occasionally, abandoning runs will happen. Players can experience unexpected real life emergencies, internet outages, or the group collectively deciding to quit the run. Today, we suspended players who repeatedly and recklessly disrupted Mythic+ groups.

Community opinion
Most of the player base is incredibly happy with this policy towards WoW M+ leavers. This issue was always a big minus in Mythic plus runs. Seeing that Blizzard is taking action against players who abuse the M+ “no-regroup” system. The current situation with M+ is strained enough. We discussed this topic in a separate article.
On the other hand, some players are concerned that this policy can be unfair to people who farm high M+ ratings. High-tier Keystones easily failed within the first two or three pulls, so hard-try players can decide that this run is doomed to fail and not give them either a rating or a higher-level keystone. This decision can be made collectively, but Blizzard does not say anything about the critical amount of such decisions.
Some people in the community are anxious that they might get suspended if they are unlucky enough and sign to a few weak groups in a row. Situations where you realize that completing a Keystone will take an hour or more are real, making you choose between leaving and risking suspension and staying and suffering.
Last thoughts
Blizzard has already tried to attract more people to Mythic Plus in TWW Season 1 by making adjustments to this activity. For example, we took a closer look at such changes in KSM and KSH achievements. Such a policy towards WoW Mythic plus leavers is primarily positive and should benefit frustration and toxicity levels. However, more accurate information is needed to give Blizzard suitable feedback. The community hopes that this change will be properly balanced and not bring new problems to the table.
