What is Liberation of Undermine

The Liberation of Undermine is The War Within Season 2 raid, launching in WoW on March 5, 2025. The raid will take place in Undermine, the goblin capital that was once thought to be destroyed in Cataclysm. And yet, it has now returned as the battleground for the four major goblin cartels: Bilgewater, Blackwater, Steamwheedle, and the Venture Company.
Adventurers will face eight formidable bosses in this underground city, culminating in a final showdown with Gallywix in the Gallagio.
Whether Gallywix is connected to Xal’atath remains unclear. However, said Trade Prince isn’t the only familiar face players will encounter. Other than him, adventurers can expect to see:
- Monte Gazlowe, whose short story you can read at The Goblin Way
- Baron Revilgaz
- Marin Noggenfogger
- Renzik “The Shiv”
Liberation of Undermine offers five difficulties: Story, LFR, Normal, Heroic, and Mythic.

Vexie and the Geargrinders

Vexie Fullthrottle and her gang of high-octane hooligans have roared into the fray, tearing through Undermine’s streets with reckless abandon. These speed-obsessed marauders thrive on chaos, turning the battlefield into a deadly demolition derby. With turbo-charged bikes, oil-slicked traps, and high-speed hit-and-run tactics, they’ll keep even the most seasoned adventurers on their toes. Stay sharp—one wrong move, and you’ll end up just another smear on the pavement.
Cauldron of Carnage

A new paired boss! For years, the volcanic feud between Torq the Tempest and Flarendo the Furious has raged, shaking the very foundations of Undermine. Now, the time for words—and wagers—is over. In the heart of the Cauldron, these titanic titans will settle their grudge once and for all in a battle of thunderous blows and molten mayhem. As the arena erupts in chaos, only the strongest (or the smartest gamblers) will survive the spectacle. Step into the pit, face the fury, and prove you’re more than just another pile of scrap!
Rik Reverb

No party in Undermine is complete without the deafening beats of Rik Reverb, Gallywix’s personal hype goblin and master of sonic mayhem. From the safety of his airborne sonic resonator, Rik bombards the battlefield with explosive bass drops, hypnotic soundwaves, and enough pyrotechnics to level a district. His music isn’t just catchy—it’s dangerously addictive, turning the unwary into frenzied dancers before they drop from exhaustion.
Stix Bunkjunker

Stix Bunkjunker oversees Undermine’s waste disposal with ruthless efficiency, using an array of industrial machinery to eliminate anything deemed unnecessary. His cleanup crew employs powerful magnets, incinerators, and crushing devices to manage the city’s refuse—both material and otherwise. Adventurers will need to avoid hazardous mechanical processes while managing waves of unstable scrap and hazardous waste to survive this encounter.
Sprocketmonger Lockenstock

A leading engineer in Gallywix’s operations, Sprocketmonger Lockenstock oversees a high-speed refinery filled with experimental machinery. His latest creations, designed for maximum efficiency with minimal safety considerations, flood the battlefield with hazardous contraptions, volatile chemicals, and malfunctioning prototypes. Adventurers must navigate moving conveyor belts, avoid industrial hazards, and disable unstable devices before they cause catastrophic failures.
The One-Armed Bandit

Gallywix’s Gallagio prides itself on fair play—at least, according to its top enforcer, the One-Armed Bandit. This towering mechanical dealer monitors every move, ready to dispense swift and severe punishment for anything it deems “cheating.” With unpredictable rule changes, erratic security protocols, and high-stakes hazards, players must stay alert to avoid being caught in the machine’s ever-changing definition of fairness.
The One-Armed Bandit is a two stage boss.
Stage One: That’s RNG, Baby!
- Spin To Win!: The One-Armed Bandit summons Reel Assistants and spins the reels for 30 sec. Defeating assistants drops Tokens, which players must deposit to lock in rewards.
- Fraud Detected!: If not enough Tokens are deposited or a previous combination is repeated, the boss gains 500% increased damage permanently.
- Fabulous Prizes: Different Token combinations create hazards like Superheated Coils, Dynamite Booty, or Fiery Dynamite Booty, each with explosive effects.
- Reel Assistant: Minions with D.L.C. armor (immune to damage below 20%) and abilities like Overload!, Withering Flames, and Electric Blast to disrupt players.
- Golden Ticket: Each reel spin increases the boss’s attack speed by 5%, stacking indefinitely.
- Pay-Line: Rolls a giant casino chip at players, granting High Roller! (buff) or Crushed! (stun and massive damage). Rolling chips back destroys them.
- Foul Exhaust: Periodically releases a cloud reducing healing received and applying damage over time.
- The Big Hit: Slams the ground for devastating damage, leaving behind an electrified Shocking Field that increases damage taken. On Mythic, arcs lightning to additional players.
Stage Two: This Game Is Rigged!
Pay-Line, Foul Exhaust, The Big Hit: These abilities persist from Stage One, growing more dangerous in Mythic.
Cheat to Win!: The boss rigs the slot machine:
Linked Machines: Three Shock symbols spawn Hyper Coils linked with damaging Voltaic Streaks.
Hot Hot Heat: Three Flame symbols cause targeted flame bursts.
Scattered Payout: Three Coin symbols unleash coin projectiles, dealing physical damage.
Explosive Jackpot: Three Bomb symbols wipe the raid.
Mug’Zee, Heads of Security

Mug’Zee is the ultimate enforcer of Gallywix’s Gallagio, a towering ogre tasked with ensuring only the most “trusted” individuals gain access to the casino’s restricted areas. With two heads constantly scanning for trouble, Mug’Zee uses overwhelming strength, reinforced barricades, and brute-force tactics to shut down any intruders. Adventurers will need to outmaneuver powerful area-denial attacks and react quickly to shifting security measures to break through his defenses.
Chrome King Gallywix

After a well-timed “strategic retreat,” Jastor Gallywix has fortified himself within the Gallagio, overseeing his latest and most ambitious creation. Armed with cutting-edge technology and an arsenal of devastating weaponry, the Chrome King is built to eliminate any opposition with overwhelming force. Adventurers must contend with Gallywix’s relentless mechanized defenses, unpredictable phase shifts, and high-powered financial schemes as they face off against the mastermind of Undermine’s chaos.
