Embers of Fyr’Alath “Works as Intended.” Fans Disagree
Blizzard confirmed that the Embers of Fyr’alath are working as intended. However, fans said otherwise.
The Embers of Fyr’alath consist of the Greater Ember of Fyr’alath and the Lesser Ember of Fyr’alath. To earn Greater Ember of Fyr’alath, players must defeat Fyrakk on any difficulty. Meanwhile, the Lesser Ember of Fyr’alath requires players to triumph over the other Amirdrassil encounters on Heroic or Mythic.
Recently, Blizzard has updated the tooltip text to provide better clarity regarding their purpose in the game. The original tooltip reads: “Embrace the ember, attuning yourself to the Dreamrender’s anthem.” And now, it’s written: “Embrace the ember, permanently increasing your chances of acquiring Fyr’alath the Dreamrender.” Thus, it is officially confirmed that the Embers are exactly the drop protection, or bad luck protection, for Fyr’alath the Dreamrender.
“Hello Abàddon,
— Blizzard
The Embers of Fyr’alath are working as intended and progress is being made. To help with clarity on the Embers, we’ve recently updated the tooltip text to confirm that the items are permanently increasing your chances of acquiring Fyr’alath the Dreamrender.”
However, the WoW community has expressed concerns about the random drop nature of the Embers. Many reported that they had been running the raid for weeks. Yet, not a single member of their party has obtained either the Greater or Lesser Ember. There are instances of players securing said items, but they also confirmed that the Embers drop rate is significantly low. The situation has prompted widespread complaints in the player base. They find it paradoxical. These Embers are supposed to be bad luck protection. Yet, it requires luck to obtain them.
It remains to be seen if Blizzard will take any action to address this matter.
