Main Earthcrawl Mines Delve mechanic
Nerubian Webs is the main mechanic in the Earthcrawl Mines Delve. This mechanic significantly reduces available space during your enemy encounters. Nerubian Webs will be placed all over the Delve, heavily reducing your movement speed and spawning Skittering Intruders if stepped on. Skittering Intruders are not a big problem by themselves. They have very little health and damage. But handling many of those while already being in combat with more dangerous enemies can be too much. Make sure to carefully move in Earthcrawl Mines Delve to avoid stepping into these Nerubian Webs.
Versions of Earthcrawl Mines Delve
There are three versions of Earthcrawl Mines Delve that add different mechanics to your run:
Precious Gems
Precious Gems version of Earthcrawl Mines Delve adds an extra objective, where you have to collect gems in the first half of the Delve to feed Earthen workers later. This is needed to progress in the Delve, as these Earthen workers will only clear you the further path from webs if fed.
This version of the Earthcrawl Mines Delve also replaces Nerubian Webs in the first half of the dungeon with Nerubian Eggs. These eggs will trigger and explode if you come too close or damage them. The explosion can also damage enemies, but since the eggs leave Nerubian Webs after being triggered, we recommend not trying to use it to your advantage. It is better to explode the least eggs possible.
In this version of Earthcrawl Mines Delve, mining carts will pass by the tracks, damaging and knocking down both players and enemies. Even though this mechanic can be useful, be careful not to get run over by wheels.
Fiery Grounds
Fiery Ground version of Earthcrawl Mines Delve will make you help Lamplighter Rathling. This means you have to pick up a Flamethrower Torch from the chest near her just at the beginning of the Delve. It will grant you an Extra Button that will start emerging fire before you, removing Nerubian Webs on impact. Remember that you can not cast or jump without interrupting the fire eruption from the torch.
In this version of Earthcrawl Mines Delve, you will also face Nerubian Webspinners. These mobs will create new patches of Nerubian Webs with Web Launch ability and will defend themselves with Web Bolts upon fighting with you. Web Bolt is an interruptible spell that deals with high single–target damage. Make sure to slay these Nerubian Webspinners if you face ones.
Kidnapped Earthen
Kidnapped Earthen version of Earthcrawl Mines Delve adds an extra objective of rescuing all webbed Earthen. First, speak to Foreman Pivk at the beginning of the Delve and get a Webbed Hookshot from him. This item will allow you to grapple on anchors above some places in the Delve. This is useful because webbed kidnapped Earthen can be located in places surrounded by Nerubian Webs. It is also known that the Levitate spell can be used not to trigger Nerubian Webs when saving kidnapped Earthen.
Earthcrawl Mines Delve Trash guide
Earthcrawl Mines Delve has different trash mobs. Some are more hazardous and need a tactic to fight against, so here is a guide on how to handle different trash mobs in this Delve:
- Nerubian Threadmancer
Nerubian Threadmancer is a simple caster enemy with Web Bolt single target damaging spell. This one deals heavy damage, so interrupting one can be useful. But there are some mobs we will be talking about that are much more important to be interrupted. In this case, make sure to use your defensives or simply abuse locations where you can line of sighting them. This means kiting these mobs in and out of their line of sight, not letting them cast their Web Bolt on you. - Nerubian Slasher
Nerubian Slasher is a melee mob with stacking bleed and high physical damage from Jagged Slash. These enemies have to be killed ASAP. The bleed can easily send you to the spirit realm if not defeated soon enough. - Chittering Fearmonger
Chittering Fearmonger is not dangerous on itself, dealing low damage, but its Fearful Shriek ability forms an area around it, fearing anyone once the cast is finished. Just make sure not to stand in these fearing zones, and this mob will not be a problem. - Nerubian Darkcaster
Nerubian Darkcaster is a caster mob with the interruptible Shadows of Strife ability. This spell leaves a debuff on a player, exploding upon removal or expiration. Like Nerubian Threadmancer, this mob can be abused by a line of sighting it with kiting. - Skittering Swarmer
Skittering Swarmer has a Skitter Charge frontal, charging to the player. This ability can be side-stepped during the cast time. - Nerubian Captain
Nerubian Captain is a melee mob with Webbed Aegis shielding ability that can be interrupted. Ignoring this cast may result in longer fights, so make sure to cancel it as much as possible. Nerubian Captain is often accompanied by two other types of mobs:- Skittering Swarmer – as mentioned previously, has a frontal attack.
- Ankle Biter – simple melee trash mob with no special skills.
Earthcrawl Mines Delve Boss guide
The Earthcrawl Mines Delve’s final boss is Web General Ab’enar. His boss fight consists of his three casts and one main mechanic. Here is everything you need to know:
Web bolt
Web Bolt is an interruptible ability with high single-target damage. Even though you can cancel its cast by interruptions, we recommend saving them for two other abilities. You can use your defensives to handle Web Bolt if the damage becomes crucial.
Curse of Agony
Curse of Agony is an interruptible DoT curse that can be dispelled. This ability deals very high damage and lasts 10 seconds, making it the number one cast to interrupt. Unless you can dispel this curse, always try to cancel this ability.
Runic Shackles
Runic Shackles is an interruptible cast that reduces the target’s movement speed and damage done. The slow might be crucial during the Mining carts mechanic, meaning that if you can dispel the Curse of Agony, you better prioritize Runic Shackles interruption. On the other hand, if you can remove slows by spells like Blessing of Freedom, Disengage, or Druid form swaps, you can almost ignore this cast.
Mining carts mechanic
From time to time, Web General Ab’enar will cover the arena with Nerubian Webs that spawn Skittering Intruders and dramatically reduce your movement speed if stepped on. Just after that, he will start a Mining carts mechanic. In the arena, there are four mining cart tracks that won’t be covered with the web. Web General Ab’enar will choose one and start pulling it from one side to another. You can easily see which cart he will pull, as the boss will connect it with webs, and the cart will start to glow. If hit by this cart, you will likely die on high tier Earthcrawl Mines Delve. So make sure to avoid standing on the moving cart’s path. We recommend standing just near the middle of the arena so you have more time to move away from the currently pulled mining cart.
