What is Dastardly Duos

Dastardly Duos is a cross-faction, 5-player event where teams face remixed encounters from classic dungeons within the Dastardly Dome. Players can participate with a full group or fill in with NPCs. The event offers a variety of rewards, including cosmetics, toys, and dungeon-level gear, providing both entertainment and valuable loot.
The event runs for 6 weeks, with four bosses available in the first week (two pairs). Each following week introduces new boss encounters, leading to a total of five unique fights by the end.
How to start Dastardly Duos

You can access Dastardly Duos from three main hubs: Stormwind, Orgrimmar, and Dornogol.

Dastardly Duos event guide

Now, let’s dive into the Dastardly Duos event!
This 5-player instance takes place in the Dastardly Dome, where players face off against animatronic versions of past bosses in fast-paced arena battles. The event lasts six weeks, with new bosses added each week, leading to a total of five encounters. Players can queue solo or with a group, with NPC Volunteers available to fill empty spots.
Before each match begins, you and your party are transported to a small preparation hub in Undermine, just outside the arena. Here, you can consume food and drinks that provide score-boosting buffs (more details on these later). Once your party is ready, you can proceed to the gate, initiating a 10-second countdown.
Upon the countdown’s completion, a 5-minute match timer starts, and the event begins. The current high score will be displayed, providing a benchmark for your Dastardly Duos run. Within the arena, you’ll find trash and props. Once all of these are destroyed, the first duo boss encounter will appear. After defeating this boss pair, a new pair will spawn, and this cycle continues until the timer expires, ending the event. Each week, new boss pairings will be introduced, culminating in the sixth week featuring a full five Dastardly Duos encounters.
Now, let’s break down how the Dastardly Duos scoring system works and what you need to do to climb the leaderboards!
Dastardly Duos score
At the end of a Dastardly Duos run, your final score is displayed, based on three key factors:
- Damage dealt to bosses, trash, and destructible props.
- Completion time – the faster, the better.
- Avoiding deaths – staying alive keeps your score high.
Before combat, players can choose buffs from Wodin the Troll-Servant. Food options include damage boosts (Beefy Burger), tanky setups (Hearty Haunch), or high-risk, high-reward choices like “Challenging” Shrimpy Fish (reduces damage but doubles bonuses), and “Challenging” Hot Dog (Which doubles Kill and Survivals bonuses, but periodically spawns acid puddles).
Drinks like Vial of Healing provide passive healing, Bottle of Invisibility makes you invisible, while Can of Amps increases movement speed.
After a 10-second countdown, players fight through elite trash mobs before facing a boss duo, like Baron Silverlaine and Broggok. Bosses retain signature abilities but introduce combo mechanics, requiring adaptability. The UI tracks score and time, rewarding faster clears and deathless runs.
Here are all the bosses from the event:
- Lord Walden
- Location: Shadowfang Keep
- Hydromancer Thespia
- Location: The Steamvault
- Mekgineer Steamrigger
- Location: The Steamvault
- Baron Silverlaine
- Location: Shadowfang Keep
- Rattlegore
- Location: Scholomance
- Glubtok
- Location: Deadmines
- Watchkeeper Gargolmar
- Location: Hellfire Ramparts
- Foe Reaper 5000
- Location: Deadmines
- Chrono-Lord Epoch
- Location: The Culling of Stratholme
- Broggok
- Location: The Blood Furnace
The best way to maximize your score in Dastardly Duos is by using Cheery Bombs. These interactable items, found throughout the arena, have a large green circle around them. Right-clicking a Cheery Bomb kicks it in the direction you’re facing, and any trash or bosses defeated inside its radius grant double score. Since score is based on damage dealt, speed, and survival, properly timing Cheery Bombs can massively increase your final ranking, making them the most efficient tool for high-score runs.
