Timegated Citrines impact: Cyrce’s Circlet underperforms heavily
Most of the Citrine gems remain timegated. Cyrce’s Circlet underperforms tragically despite being an ilvl 642 ring.
Since the release of the 11.0.7 patch, players finally got their Cyrce’s Circlet. The ring had to be a new highly customizable gear mechanic. Players have to find different Citrine gems to fill the Cyrce’s Circlet sockets. To learn more about this ring and all available Citrines, read our guide about this mechanic.
Citrine gems timegated
However, Citrines alone are still not obtainable to the fullest extent. As we mentioned in our Patch 11.0.7: Only 4 Cyrce’s Citrine gems in-game for now article, some citrines are still not found by players. It is possible that they suffered the same fate as Kirin Tor questline. The remaining timegated Citrines are very likely hidden from players in a similar manner.
Cyrce’s Circlet underperforms dramatically
Despite being heavily buffed just before the release of the 11.0.7 patch, Cyrce’s Circlet is currently dramatically weak. Here is some quick math. For now, players can use the following Citrines during one Cyrce’s Circlet loadout:
- Thunder socket: Roaring War-Queen’s Citrine / Thunderlord’s Crackling Citrine
- Sea socket: Mariner’s Hallowed Citrine
- Wind socket: Windsinger’s Runed Citrine
These Citrines bring the item level of Cyrce’s Circlet up to 642.
Based on Taeznak’s calculations with the help of SimulationCraft, the current equivalent of Cyrce’s Circlet is an ilvl 575 ring. Such a gap in item level and performance is unspeakable. However, these calculations are heavily based on the author’s SimCrafting. This means that players’ experiences during the game can be different. Remember, you can always make your own calculations with the help of our Gear Simming guide to find the best items for yourself.
Why Cyrce’s Circlet performance is so bad
Cyrce’s Circlet performance is bad because currently obtainable Citrines are much worse than timegated gems. For example, Mariner’s Hallowed Citrine does not improve damage in any shape or form. Based on players’ preferences, end-game content conquering heavily relies on outgoing damage for the last years. Even Healers must keep up with DPS and Tanks to perform well in raids, M+, and Delves.
Most of the gems that were supposed to make Cyrce’s Circlet a great ring are currently unavailable. Since many powerful Citrine gems are timegated, the new item is almost useless. However, the patch has only been out for a few days, so the remaining Citrines might appear soon. For now, players can use Cyrce’s Circlet as a gear for alts since it has high ilvl, and Citrines appeared to be Warband-wide. To learn more about all the ways to upgrade your gear, read our Gearing guide.
Final thoughts
For now, the community seems to be lost in Blizzard’s plans for Cyrce’s Circlet. The advertisement for its mechanic is completely different from what we see now. Ideally, Blizzard should comment on this topic to make things clear. Was Cyrce’s Circlet intended to be so weak in the beginning, or something went wrong? Once again, we recommend keeping in touch with our Cyrce’s Circlet guide. Since the situation around this item is unstable and can change within days, we want you to have all the relevant information.
