Mograine boss preparations
At last, after completing the long Ashbringer questline, you receive the final quest: A Kind of Peace. Upon accepting it, you’re presented with the following text:
Take the portal and confront the Spirit of Mograine. Should you fall in battle, make your way back to the portal within Light’s Hope Chapel to re-enter Naxxramas.
As you can see, the fight against the Spirit of Mograine can be repeated as many times as needed, so there’s no risk of permanently failing the encounter. The only real cost is consumables. Try the first attempt without using any, or stick to the cheap ones you have in abundance. Only if you struggle to win should you consider using high-end alchemy consumables for improved survivability and DPS.
Don’t hesitate to ask friends, guildmates, or even strangers in chat for class buffs, as they can make a big difference.

Mograine boss guide
The Mograine boss fight consists of two phases, with the first being both the longest and most challenging. It spans from 100% down to 30% of the boss’s health. Be sure to use all your major cooldowns and resources during this phase.
Phase 1
There are three key aspects of this fight you need to be aware of:
- Boss himself — he is immune until you kill a Shade of Naxxramas.
- Shades of Naxxramas — 4 of them stand in the corners of the room, spawning void zones.
- Orbs of Light — your source of healing, mana regeneration, and movement speed boosts.

The only truly dangerous ability in this fight is Piercing Shadow, a frontal cone of shadow energy that will one-shot you if you fail to dodge it. Always stay alert and move out of its path immediately when the cast begins.
As for the strategy, you need to kite the boss toward a Shade of Naxxramas and kill it. Doing so removes the boss’s immunity for 30 seconds. Use this window to focus all your DPS and activate your offensive cooldowns. Repeat this process until the Phase 1 ends.
There will be numerous void zones throughout the fight, summoned by the Shades and the untreatable Horsemen. Fortunately, they’re easy to dodge as long as you stay aware of your surroundings.
Phase 2

At the start of this phase, the boss will move to the center of the room, and Scarlet Commander Mograine will appear. However, he will be slowed by 3 Shades of Naxxramas. Defeat these Shades to free him and allow him to reach the boss. Once Scarlet Commander Mograine reaches the boss, the fight will end, and the Corrupted Ashbringer will be yours.
Conclusion
That’s everything you need to know about the final boss of the Corrupted Ashbringer questline. Enjoy the Mograine family drama, the uniquely crafted storyline, and the rare solo boss encounter, experiences that are few and far between in Classic WoW.
