Table of Contents
Destiny 2 Revenant is releasing very soon, which is why everyone is wondering what to expect from this DLC. WowVendor is ready to cover everything you need to know about Destiny 2 Episode 2 with upcoming content, changes, and more. So, without further ado, let’s check out the upcoming episode.
Episode Revenant overview
Unlike Episode Echoes, we will see a significant change in the format this time. Now, story missions in the first, second, and third acts will be available at launch without having to wait weeks for titbits to release. While you will still have to wait for new acts to get the full picture, that’s already a move in a more positive direction. Revenant content will also be gradually released, so there will be reasons to log in even during the second or third act, with new weapons, activities, season pass rewards, and more.
Episode Revenant release date
As with the previous episode, Episode Revenant will be split into three acts, each becoming available every 6 weeks:
- Episode Revenant Act 1 will be released on October 8, 2024.
- Episode Revenant Act 2 is set to be released on November 19, 2024.
- The finale as a part of Episode Revenant Act 3 is going to be released on December 31, 2024.
- Episode Revenant will end on February 4, 2025.
Episode Revenant story
The main antagonist of this episode will be Fikrul, who has acquired the second Echo. With its help, he is able to evolve the Scorn using corpses. Additionally, Fikrul kidnaps Fallen to turn them into Scorn. To oppose him, Guardians will need to unite with Vanguard’s Hunter leader Crow and Mithrax, along with his daughter Eido. Eido will assist us in making Tonics that provide various combat and non-combat bonuses.
Episode Revenant activities
The main activity in the first act will be Onslaught: Salvation. The core formula will be taken from its original version, released in Into the Light, but with new cool features. For instance, players will be able to control the Turret from Destiny 1 and call in Airstrikes on enemies. Additionally, players will face three new maps (Widow’s Court (PvP map), Kell’s Grave (Gambit map), Eventide Ruins (Europa Patrol Zone)), and new enemies will include the Scorn, Shadow Legion, and Dreads.
A new dungeon called Vesper’s Host will also be available from the first act. You can learn more about its release date and other details in the Vesper’s Host dungeon announcement article.
How Tonic Capsule works in Episode Revenant
One of the main mechanics of the season is the new Tonic System, which allows you to create Volatile or Enriching Tonics. The former enhances your Artifact Mods, while the latter is related to weapon drops. Additionally, Tonics come in different rarities, and some Enriching Tonics will give you the ability to attune seasonal weapons. All Tonics will last 20 minutes to 1 hour and require specific reagents to create.
Episode Revenant weapons
Episode Revenant Season Pass weapon is a Primary Stasis Grenade Launcher with a Micro-Missile Frame. Final Blows with it will create Remnants, collecting which will fill the Vestigial Alchemy Bar. When the bar reaches 50%, you’ll be able to create Special Ammo for yourself and allies, and at 100%, Heavy Ammo will spawn. Additionally, it will have the One for All trait, though it will likely be integrated into the catalyst.
The beloved Icebreaker Solar Special Sniper Rifle will return in the Vesper’s Host dungeon. Instead of generating ammo over time, as in Destiny 1, it will now create ammo after assists or final blows with other weapons.
As for Episode Revenant legendary weapons, there will be no shortage. This time, Guardians will see the return of Splicer weapons, including Chroma Rush! Some new weapon archetypes spotted include:
- Exuviae: Stasis Aggressive Hand Cannon
- Arc Precision SMG
- Arc Heavy GL
- Liturgy: Stasis Special Double Fire GL
- Insurmountable: Void Precision Sidearm
- Vantage Point: Adaptive Arc Pulse Rifle
- Sovereignty: Void Adaptive Sniper Rifle
- Auto Rifle
- Shotgun
It’s important to note that none of these weapons will be craftable in this episode, but you will be able to get Double Perked weapons in Onslaught: Salvation.
Additionally, the Concept Art for another Exotic Weapon in Episode Revenant was revealed in The Journey Ahead Video, likely tied to a new Exotic Mission.
Episode Revenant armor
So far, Bungie has shown only a couple of armor concept arts for Episode Revenant. One set will have a Baron theme, while another will transform you into a Splicer Vampire Hunter (which can also be seen in the Revenant Key Art).
We can also expect a new batch of Exotic Armor, and in pre-release videos, YouTubers like Datto and Aztecross showed a full description of the upcoming armor.
