Table of Contents
Grenade Launchers have suddenly taken the top spot among the best DPS weapons in Destiny 2. Just recently, there were Linear Fusion Rifles and Rocket Launchers. Now, completely different guns have appeared in the meta. It is not surprising that many players are trying to get the god roll Edge Transit in Destiny 2 now. That’s why we have decided to help you and discuss this gun in full. Let’s start!
Destiny 2 Edge Transit overview
Edge Transit is the most popular Heavy weapon since its return during Into the Light, and for good reason. Bungie has been buffing Heavy Grenade Launchers for two years, and even when they became strong enough, the only good GL was Cataphract GL3. Many players couldn’t get the Cataphract god roll because it required a long grind in the Trials of Osiris. Fortunately for such players, Into the Light introduced Edge Transit, which had all the best perks for Grenade Launchers and was easy to obtain.
The best use for Edge Transit is during damage phases, as with the right perks, you’ll always have massive DPS. However, there are other uses for this weapon. For example, Edge Transit is ideal for quickly destroying Champions in Grandmaster Nightfalls, saving you a lot of time.

Edge Transit Godroll: Hard Launch, Spike Grenades, Envious Assassin, Bait and Switch
Let’s take a closer look at the best perks. Hard Launch is the only Barrel that can slightly increase weapon damage by reducing Blast Radius. As for the Magazine, Spike Grenades have long been known for their free damage boost, but after their change, they are no longer a must-have trait. Instead, consider Mini Frags or Augmented Drum, as they increase magazine size by one ammo.
Moving on to the third column, where Envious Assassin is the clear favorite. It allows you to store all reserves into one mag, but you must kill enemies with other weapons to trigger it. If the encounter doesn’t allow for many kills, Auto-Loading Holster is a good alternative, as it will quickly reload the gun while holstered. Cascade Point is the most interesting perk among the options. After Precision Hits or a Final Blow from another weapon, you’ll increase Edge Transit’s RPM for a short time, delivering massive burst damage.
Bait and Switch is the best among the fourth column perks. It not only has one of the strongest 30% damage buffs but is also very easy to activate — all you need to do is deal damage with all your weapons. Explosive Light also has a strong damage buff, but it has a downside: to get the buff, you need to pick up Orbs of Power, and you can only have a maximum of 7 stacks. The last good perk in the fourth column is Frenzy, but its damage bonus is quite low compared to the other two.
How to get Edge Transit in Destiny 2
You can obtain Edge Transit from the Onslaught Activity as of the Episode: Echoes. If you want to farm it efficiently, make sure to Attune this weapon at Zavala in the Tower. Additionally, we recommend completing the first ten waves in Expert Onslaught as a trio, as you’ll get twice as many rewards as on normal difficulty without much trouble from the enemies.
