What is The Desert Perpetual

The Desert Perpetual is the latest Destiny 2 raid, introduced in the Edge of Fate expansion. It is a 6-player raid and currently the highest difficulty challenge in Destiny 2. Below, we’ve gathered all the information about Desert Perpetual.
Desert Perpetual livestreams and Twitch Drops

Watch The Desert Perpetual livestreams as players compete in Contest Mode and earn Power Hues Emblem.
As part of the launch celebration for The Desert Perpetual, players can unlock the new Power Hues emblem through Twitch Drops. It’s a limited-time offer, so don’t miss your chance to grab this exclusive cosmetic.
To earn it, simply tune in to any eligible Destiny 2 stream on Twitch and watch for at least one hour. As long as your Bungie and Twitch accounts are linked, the drop will be added to your account automatically.
Available until July 19 at 5:59 PM PT.
The Desert Perpetual raid requirements

To enter The Desert Perpetual raid, you must complete The Edge of Fate campaign.
To access The Desert Perpetual raid in Contest Mode, you must complete the Edge of Fate campaign on Legendary difficulty and have at least 100 Power.
How to start Desert Perpetual raid

To start Desert Perpetual raid, visit Dean Rebecca on Kepler. This NPC will help you to launch the Edge of Fate raid.

These four weapons will be banned in the Desert Perpetual raid Contest Mode. However, you can still use them on other difficulties:

Desert Perpetual raid release date
The Edge of Fate raid The Desert Perpetual release date is July 19, just four days after the Edge of Fate expansion goes live. Here’s the launch time in various time zones:
- Pacific Time (PT): 10 AM, July 19;
- Eastern Time (ET): 1 PM, July 19;
- Greenwich Mean Time (GMT/UTC): 5 PM, July 19;
- British Summer Time (BST): 6 PM, July 19;
- Central European Time (CET): 7 PM, July 19;

At launch, the raid will feature 48-hour Contest Mode, a limited-time version with higher difficulty and a race format.
A few weeks later, the developers plan to release an Epic version of the raid. This version will continue the story and add new content to the raid.
Desert Perpetual bosses

Desert Perpetual is a non-linear raid, allowing players to choose the order of the first encounters. There are a total of four encounters, and you can tackle the first three in any sequence.

- Iatros, Inward-Turned
- Epoptes, Lord of Quanta
Only after defeating all three can you unlock the final boss encounter.
