LoL: Riot’s Executive Producer Steps Down from His Position

Jeremy ‘Brightmoon’ Lee, Riot’s Executive Producer, announced his departure from the role he has held for almost a decade.

The revelation was made during the Dev Update 2023 for League of Legends. The six-and-a-half-minute video featured Andrei van Roon, Jeremy Lee, Pu Liu, and Drew Levin. They discussed the forthcoming developments concerning LoL’s ranked rewards and monetization. Brightmoon mentioned that they really enjoyed connecting with the LoL community through the Dev Updates. Looking ahead to 2024, players can anticipate continued communication from the team. As the video drew to an end, Brightmoon shared that it was time for him to step down from his current role:

“This year’s been a bit of a whirlwind. The progress we’ve made as a team, and most importantly, what we’ve been able to deliver for you has been so rewarding. And with that, I’ve decided it’s the right time for me to step away from my current role. I’ll be passing the torch to a new Executive Producer in the coming months.”

Brightmoon expressed that his eight-year journey working on League had been a dream come true. He also mentioned that he was honored to serve the players and work in Riot’s incredible development team. Despite stepping down from his role, he assured the community that this wasn’t a farewell. Players can still expect to see him during the Season Start and possibly in other events early in 2024. He will remain involved in other endeavors at Riot and look forward to reconnecting with the community when the time is right.

Regarding the next Riot’s Executive Producer, there has yet to be any information. The company is still in the process of searching for a suitable candidate to fill the role.
