The War Within Mythic+ mob count addon tracking disabled
Players are complaining that The War Within Mythic+ mob count addon tracking has been disabled. What’s actually happening?
Currently, all the mob count tracking addons, such as Angry Keystones, display the mob count in percentages like 6.04%. Normally, they show a flat value count like 54/150, which is much easier for tracking your mob count progress than keeping track of the specific percentage each mob contributes. As you can see in the picture below, there’s no exact mob count in the bottom right.
Interestingly, the database tracking mob counts in The War Within still uses integers. However, addons can no longer access the current mob count as an integer — only the percentage and total count are available. Luckily, there’s an M+ Timer Weakaura made by Reloe, which provides a workaround for tracking mob count in dungeons using data from the MDT addon. Still, it’s prone to breaking during disconnects or zoning out and requires the MDT addon itself to function correctly.
Despite having a working alternative, let’s face it: changing from an integer value to a percentage is very inconvenient. Percentages are more complex to remember, especially for those players planning routes or managing counts in Mythic+ dungeons, and many players have already pointed this out. If one hasn’t played enough on Beta to memorize the percentage each mob gives, they will never know if they need to pull more or fewer mobs, especially when running out of time.
We believe it’s likely another bug that popped up during the pre-patch and that Blizzard didn’t do it on purpose to spoil your in-game experience. Still, we understand all the players feeling mad, as instead of making the game much more convenient to play, one has to invent workarounds as if they were a full-paid developer.
Hopefully, more fixes are on the way, and Blizzard is aware of this issue. We’ll closely monitor any piece of news related to this problem, but for now, we suggest using Reloe’s M+ Timer Weakaura in tandem with the MDT addon as an alternative.
