Since its release on July 23, The War Within pre-patch has faced significant criticism on various fronts. And now, the once highly anticipated Radiant Echoes event is also under fire, despite only debuting on July 30. Across social platforms, players have expressed mounting disappointment, citing several issues that have marred their experience. For instance, its sluggish event cycle, slow reward accumulation, and low drop rates.
In response, Blizzard has increased the bosses’ health and added Flightstones and Crests to the event’s rewards. However, these changes are nothing different from a drop in the ocean. Especially when there isn’t any additional information regarding the cycle of Radiant Echoes.
Radiant Echoes changes: boss health increased
Before the fix, players had to endure a grueling hour-and-a-half wait for the next event if they missed the current one. Tagging bosses like Remembered Firelord, Remembered Onyxia, or Remembered Lich King was notoriously difficult. Even when players managed to tag these bosses and deal damage, the game would often crash. Thus, players were often left with lost loot, quest credit, and currency rewards.
The recent increase in Radiant Echoes bosses’ health offers the community a glimmer of hope. More players can tag and deal damage to them, potentially improving the chances of completing the event. However, it’s too early to determine if this adjustment will fully resolve the issues. We will need to continue monitoring the situation before drawing any final conclusions.
Players can get Flightstones and Crests from Radiant Echoes
To make Radiant Echoes more appealing, Blizzard has introduced Flightstones and Crests as rewards for participating in the event. Players are in for more opportunities to upgrade their gear. Here are some ways that players can earn Flightstones and Crests from The War Within pre-patch event:
- Completing event objectives: 10 Flightstones and 2 Whelpling’s Awakened Crest
- Equip gear with the item level of at least 489 to trade Whelpling Crests to Drake’s Awakened Crest.
- Weekly quests. Complete the following quests:
- Broken Masquerade
- Champion of the Waterlords
- Only Darkness
Each quest rewards players with 15 Flightstones and 5 Drake’s Awakened Crests each.
No changes to Radiant Echoes event cycle
With the increase in Radiant Echoes boss health and the addition of Flightstones and Crests to the event rewards, many players anticipated adjustments to the event cycle as well. Unfortunately, Blizzard has yet to address this aching concern. The event still occurs in 90-minute intervals. And despite the extended boss fights, lag issues persist. Players have expressed a desire for changes to the event timing, even if it’s just minor. As of now, there are no updates from Blizzard. But let’s remain hopeful for positive changes in the near future.
