Blizzard reveals Widowmaker Sylvanas skin for Overwatch 2
Blizzard recently revealed a Widowmaker Sylvanas skin, bringing every Overwatch 2 and World of Warcraft fan into an exciting frenzy!
On August 20, Blizzard teased the Sylvanas Windrunner skin for Widowmaker and confirmed that the Overwatch 2 and World of Warcraft crossover would launch later in Season 12. The post also hinted at two blue and red factions, and players noticed that Widowmaker, dressed as the former Warchief of the Horde, was placed in the Alliance-themed area of the Blizzard World map.
This fact suggests we might see more Warcraft-themed skins soon, especially featuring the iconic Frostmourne weapon and a mysterious shadowy figure behind the camera in the latest Season 12 trailer. Could this mean an Arthas skin is coming, or is it another legendary weapon for a tank hero like Reinhardt? Given Sylvanas’s connection to the Lich King, this is just the beginning, and a Warcraft Direct presentation, replacing the canceled BlizzCon this year and where the developers will shed more light on what to expect.
Interestingly, this isn’t the first collaboration between these games. Back in 2019, players could get Illidan and Tyrande skins for Genji and Symmetra by purchasing the BlizzCon Virtual Ticket.
What are your thoughts on Blizzard launching collaborations between its games? Also, as a dedicated WoW and Overwatch 2 player, what skins would you love to see in the future? Share in the comments!
