Blizzard recently introduced a new gear type: Warbound until Equipped. This will make your alt-gearing journey a lot more breathable!
Key takeaways
- Blizzard has introduced a new gear type, Warbound until Equipped (WuE), which simplifies the process of gearing up alternate characters by allowing gear to be traded freely until equipped.
- WuE gear can be obtained from various in-game sources including Rare creatures, Lamplighter’s Supply Satchels, and from raids, dungeons, and Delves.
- WuE gear quality varies based on content difficulty. For detailed information, refer to the article below.
In the latest update for The War Within, WoW developers introduced a new type of gear called Warbound until Equipped. As the name implies, these items can be traded freely between Warband characters until they are equipped. This significantly simplifies keeping your alts’ gear up-to-date and ready for all the content in The War Within.
How to get Warbound until Equipped gear
WuE gear can be obtained from various sources in the game, including:
- Rares: Marked with a silver star on the mini-map, you can defeat these Rare creatures to get WuE gear.
- Lamplighter’s Supply Satchel: Earned weekly from the Spreading the Light event, the first satchel guarantees a piece of Adventurer 1 WuE gear.
- Raids, dungeons, and Delves: These are the most valuable sources of Warbound until Equipped items. Other than the regular loot, you also receive a bonus roll for WuE gear. It’s important to note that this bonus roll is separate from the regular loot. So, you can get WuE gear along with your usual drops, just usual drops without WuE, or neither.
WuE gear obtained from raid bosses follows the boss’s loot table:
- Raid Finder: Drops as Veteran 1.
- Normal: Drops as Veteran gear, matching the starting value of bind-on-pickup Champion pieces. According to Blizzard, “If a bind-on-pickup piece drops as Champion 3, the WuE version would be Veteran 3.”
- Heroic: WuE gear matches the bind-on-pickup gear’s Hero track. So if a bind-on-pickup piece drops as Hero 3, the WuE version would be Champion 3.
- Mythic: WuE gear is always Champion 4.
In dungeons, WuE gear can be acquired from the final boss. The item will be the gear from any boss in the dungeon you’re running. So, if you can’t get the Ara-Kara Sacbrood trinket from Avanoxx, you can always stick around to the last boss for another chance to obtain it.
As for Delves, WuE gear obtained from Heavy Trunks will be the same gear you could have otherwise received from that Delve.
