Midnight Season 2 currency reset overview

The easiest rule to follow is that currencies categorized as Season 1 currencies are seasonal and should not be treated as resources that can be stockpiled for Season 2. Midnight Season 2 officially begins on August 18 in NA and August 19 in EU. Alongside the new raid, Mythic+ season, PvP season, and Delve progression, Season 2 introduces a new set of upgrade and progression currencies.

This also means that a number of Midnight Season 1 currencies will either disappear, reset to zero, or be replaced by their Season 2 equivalents. If you have been stockpiling Dawncrests, Coffer Keys, Undercoin, Catalyst charges, or other seasonal resources, now is the time to check your Currency tab.

Season 1 exclusive currencies

The following currencies should be spent before Season 2 if you still have a useful way to use them:

The most important currencies to use are Dawncrests, Dawnlight Manaflux, Restored Coffer Keys, Undercoin, Untainted Mana-Crystals, Nebulous Voidcores, Conquest, and Bloody Tokens. Use Dawncrests to finish any Season 1 gear upgrades you still care about. Spend Catalyst charges on useful tier conversions or appearances, and check Delve and PvP vendors for rewards.

As for Voidcores, Season 2 version of this late-season gearing system uses Ascendant Venomstones. Like Voidcores in Season 1, Venomstones are intended to appear later in the season and allow eligible high-end equipment to be pushed further. This means stockpiling Nebulous Voidcores will not give you a head start once Ascendant Venomstones become available.

Currencies that will carry over into Season 2

Currencies outside the Season 1 category are currently expected to remain on your character or Warband instead of being wiped.

This includes expansion-wide currencies connected to outdoor activities, professions, features, and other non-seasonal Midnight systems. Patch 12.1 redesigned Currency tab specifically separates these systems from the seasonal category. Currencies currently expected to carry over include:
