Tofkesays:

I’m heartbroken. We had planned to meet up in Belgium this year—he was going to photograph the LARP, and I was excited to introduce him to Belgian cuisine. Rest in piece friend.

Animelinsays:

Hello, Tofke! Thank you for commenting on this saddening news. I am sorry to hear that. At least, we can take this loss as a community and not single-handedly.

Nytestarsays:

I watch the documentary and he had such a wonderful tribute to Mats. my condolences to his family, friends, guide mates as the maneuver through this difficult time. I lost my daughter back in 2014 to mental health issues. There’s one thing I can say for sure is the hurt never goes away, we just learn to live a new “normal”. My advice, as time progresses, it is so important to be kind and gentle with ourselves. It’s ok to not be ok. It is ok to grieve however you see fit and as long as you need. Never let someone put time on your grief. Mental health is so very important. Being kind to one another, we have no idea what someone is going through. I know he is resting in peace. To his family and friends, take it one day at a time, it’s not a goodbye, but it is a see you later. Rest easy, Kai! 💜
