What are Valorstones used for
Note:
Valorstones are now Warband-transferable, allowing you to send them between characters. However, there’s a 20% transfer penalty, meaning the receiving character will only get 80% of the original amount.
While this adds a cost to sharing Valorstones, it still provides a valuable way to funnel resources to alts — a factor that will become important in some of the farming strategies discussed later in the article.
Valorstones are a key currency in The War Within, functioning similarly to Flightstones from Dragonflight. Their primary purpose is to upgrade the item level of your endgame gear across various upgrade tracks.
You can earn Valorstones through a wide range of level 80 activities, including:
- Participating in open-world events
- Completing quests and weekly objectives
- Battlegrounds and arena PvP matches
- Running Mythic+ dungeons
- Defeating raid bosses
The system is designed to reward player engagement: the more content you complete—and the higher its difficulty—the more Valorstones you’ll earn. There is no weekly earning cap, so you’re free to grind as much as you want. However, you can only hold up to 2000 Valorstones at a time, although some methods allow you to store more indirectly (detailed further below).
Where to spend Valorstones

Head to the Mythic Aspirations shop in Dornogal, located at [51.8, 42.1], and talk to Cuzolth to upgrade your items or Vaskarn to exchange Harbinger Crests.
You can use Valorstones to purchase Champion gear from Agmera, located in the Mythic+ portal room in Dornogal at coordinates [53, 38]. She offers the Undermine Equipment Chest for 325 Valorstones.

Below, you’ll find all the currently relevant methods for farming Valorstones in the new expansion.
Nightfall Scenario

Nightfall is an hourly world event located just east of the Flame’s Radiance hub. It’s a multi-phase scenario where players complete objectives, defeat enemies, and ultimately face a lieutenant boss.
Here’s how you earn Valorstones from Nightfall:
- Weekly Quest – The Flame Burns Eternal
Reward:- 25 Valorstones
- A Radiant Service Satchel containing an extra 25 Valorstones
→ Total: 50 Valorstones per week
- Service Award Progress Bar (filled by participating in event activities)
- As you contribute to the scenario, you unlock three tiers of reward chests:
- 33% – Arathi Soldier’s Coffer: ~15 Valorstones
- 66% – Arathi Cleric’s Chest: ~20 Valorstones
- 100% – Arathi Champion’s Spoils: ~25 Valorstones→ Total per full run: ~60 Valorstones
- As you contribute to the scenario, you unlock three tiers of reward chests:
With regular participation, each run can yield ~60 Valorstones, plus a weekly bonus of 50, making Nightfall a valuable event for consistent Valorstone farming. Be sure to learn the Nightfall scenario mechanics before you start farming!
C.H.E.T.T. Console in Undermine

Let’s start with newer Season 2 activities. The C.H.E.T.T. Console (Concierge, Honored Employee, and Transaction Terminal) is located on the second floor of the Incontinental Hotel in Undermine [43.40, 50.50].
. It’s a weekly activity hub that offers a consistent and efficient source of Valorstones.
- Each week, you can pick up a C.H.E.T.T. List, which contains 8 rotating tasks tied to various endgame activities—ranging from dungeon runs to world events and PvP objectives.
- Each completed task grants 20 Valorstones, for a total of 160 Valorstones if all eight are completed.
- Completing at least four tasks allows you to turn in the list for a Completed C.H.E.T.T. List, which grants an additional 250 Valorstones.
🔹 Maximum weekly gain from the C.H.E.T.T. Console:
410 Valorstones (160 from individual tasks + 250 from list turn-in)
This is one of the most time-efficient ways to farm Valorstones weekly and is especially valuable for players looking to gear multiple characters, as you can focus on overlapping objectives.
Undermine activities
To complete your C.H.E.T.T. List, you’ll often find yourself diving into various Undermine activities—many of which also serve as excellent sources of Valorstones on their own. Here’s a closer look at some key Undermine activities that commonly appear on C.H.E.T.T. Lists—and how they help you farm Valorstones efficiently:
Weekly quest: Urge to Surge (Hourly Event in Undermine)
Urge to Surge is a recurring hourly event in Undermine that centers around completing Shipping and Handling jobs while piloting the G-99 Breakneck, a specialized mount unlocked during the Undermine campaign.
During the event, players contribute to a shared progress bar by completing quick, interactive mini-quests. These jobs are diverse, fast-paced, and designed to be repeatable throughout the event window.
Types of Shipping and Handling jobs:
- Squashing cockroaches
- Delivering packages to specific NPCs
- Eliminating minor threats
- Performing odd tasks, like smashing grapes or sweeping mechanical debris
Each completed job grants:
- 10–15 Valorstones
- Resonance Crystals
- Undermine crests
- Gold
- And most notably, a chance at Nanny’s Surge Dividends, which awards Veteran gear at item level 623
You can often complete multiple jobs in a single event cycle, earning 50–75 Valorstones per hour with consistent participation.
Weekly quest: Many Jobs, Handle It!
This weekly quest tasks you with completing 10 Shipping and Handling jobs during the week.
Upon completion, you receive:
- 100 Valorstones
- Additional Resonance Crystals
- Random upgrade materials
This is a guaranteed weekly Valorstone income, easily completed through a couple of Urge to Surge events or incidental job pickups while exploring Undermine.
Weekly quest: Reduce, Reuse, Resell
This quest encourages environmental clean-up and recycling across Undermine. Players must:
- Sign a weekly cartel contract
- Complete 3 S.C.R.A.P. jobs (special cleanup/recycle objectives)
Upon completion, rewards include:
- 1000 reputation with the Cartels of Undermine
- 1000 bonus reputation with the cartel you’re contracted to that week
- 50–75 Valorstones depending on the job types and efficiency
This quest is a solid source of both reputation and supplementary Valorstones, especially useful for players focused on faction progression.
Mythic+ Dungeons
Mythic+ dungeons remain one of the most lucrative and repeatable sources of Valorstones, especially for players who enjoy pushing keys.
- The Valorstone rewards scale with keystone level and number of bosses defeated.
- A standard run yields roughly 100–150 Valorstones, depending on dungeon length and difficulty.
- Completing the dungeon within the time limit may increase the reward slightly.
Example estimates:
- M+2–4: ~80–100 Valorstones
- M+5–7: ~120–130 Valorstones
- M+8+: ~140–160 Valorstones
Running multiple dungeons back-to-back can quickly accumulate a large stockpile of Valorstones. For those nearing the 2,000 cap, it’s wise to spend them before continuing your runs or transfer them to a Warband character (with the 20% penalty in mind).
Worldsoul Memories Events
Worldsoul Memories are time-limited world events that spawn throughout Khaz Algar. They are both solo- and group-friendly, and provide a burst of Valorstones with minimal time investment.
- A solo clear typically grants 250 Valorstones and can be completed in about 5–6 minutes, assuming you’re geared and familiar with the encounter.
- Grouping up with other players not only speeds up the process but can also increase efficiency by chaining multiple events together.
- These events can be completed multiple times per week, making them one of the best farm methods for short, high-reward sessions.
Tip:
You can track spawn timers via community Discords or event trackers to maximize your run efficiency.
The only downside for this event is that it requires Radiant Echoes, obtained from Bountiful Delves. The more Radiant Echoes you spend, the more Valorstones you can earn:
- 1x Radiant Echo: Mobs in the Memory drop Valorstones
- 5x Radiant Echoes: Mobs drop 5 times the Valorstones
- 10x Radiant Echoes (5+5): Mobs drop 5 times as many Valorstones, but dying will eliminate you from the Memory.
Snuffling or Wax farming

One of the most efficient ways to farm Valorstones in The War Within Season 2 is through Wax farming, also known as Snuffling. This method becomes available once you reach Renown 2 with the Assembly of the Deeps and complete the short quest “Everyday I’m Snufflin’” in Gundargaz.
Once unlocked, you can dig up Disturbed Earth piles scattered across Khaz Algar. These can contain:
- Odd Globs of Wax
- Resonance Crystals
- Profession materials
- Occasionally, enemy ambushes or mini-events
You can trade 5 Wax for 10 Valorstones at Gnawbles in the Ringing Deeps [47.6, 35.2]. Farming roughly 500–700 Valorstones per hour is possible with casual effort.
Tip:
Enable Outline Mode in Interface Settings > “Quest Objectives, Mouseover, and Target,” then set it to High. This adds a purple glow to dirt piles, making them easier to spot while flying.
Farming spots
While Disturbed Earth piles can technically be found throughout all zones in Khaz Algar, we want to highlight a few farming spots with great spawn density.
Azj-Kahet

If you’re farming in Azj-Kahet, the best area is around Weaver’s Lair and the lower section nearby.
Hallowfal

There are tons of Disturbed Earth piles here, especially around a small farm where you can plant Herbalism seeds. This area has massive clusters of dirt, and the farms up north near the world event are also packed with Disturbed Earth. Overall, any grassy spot in Hallowfall is a good place to farm.

You can loop around the entire zone, starting in the fields, flying through grassy sections, hitting the world event, and circling back to the farm. By the time you return, most of the Disturbed Earth has respawned. It’s a fantastic farming spot, with plenty of dirt patches you can gather in a straight line.
The Ringing Deeps

Ringing Deeps does have some good spots, especially near the Kobold areas, where you’ll find plenty of Disturbed Earth piles, though it’s a bit out of the way. There’s also another decent area further down, but it’s in a remote corner with little reason to visit. However, if you want to farm Wax as much as possible, head to Azj-Kahet or Hallowfall instead.
One-time Renown rewards
You can earn a decent amount of Valorstones by increasing your reputation with the four War Within factions: the Council of Dornogal, the Assembly of the Deeps, the Hallowfall Arathi, and the Severed Threads. While it might not compare to rewards like Kej or Resonance Crystals, it’s still worthwhile to support all four factions:
The Council of Dornogal: Talk to Auditor Balwurz to get this currency for your further gear upgrades:
- Level 7: Valorstones
- Level 17: Valorstones
- Level 22: Valorstones
The Assembly of the Deeps. Speak with Waxmonger Squick to earn the rewards:
- Level 7: Bunch of Brave Rocks
- Level 16: Valorstones
- Level 22: Bunch of Brave Rocks
The Hallowfall Arathi. Meet with Auralia Steelstrike for the currency:
- Level 7: Valorstones
- Level 14: Valorstones
- Level 19: Valorstones
The Severed Threads. Speak with Lady Vinazian for the rewards:
- Level 7: Valorstones
- Level 14: Valorstones
- Level 22: Valorstones
Cartels of Undermine. Meet with Smaks Topskimmer for the currency:
- Level 3: Valorstones
- Level 11: Valorstones
- Level 17: Valorstones
Open-world activities

Participating in open-world activities is a great way to earn Valorstones. One of the main methods is through the Spreading the Light event. This event’s key reward comes from a weekly quest where you need to light 4x Lesser Keyflames. Completing this quest gives you a Radiant Cache, which contains Valorstones and other rewards.
Additionally, unlocking Lesser or Major Keyflames grants new weekly quests or bonus objectives in the area. These reward you with Hallowfall Arathi reputation and a Lamplighter Supply Satchel, which also contains Valorstones.

In the Awakening the Machine event, you earn Valorstones by surviving waves of enemies and looting Awakened Caches. Here’s how the Valorstone rewards break down by wave:
- 5 waves: 15x Valorstones
- 10 waves: 18x Valorstones
- 15 waves: 20x Valorstones
- 20 waves: 22x Valorstones
